I loved the emphasis on the spirit world in these 3 episodes!! It was really fun seeing Korra explore her spiritual side and meet one of my favourite characters from The Last Airbender! Enjoy :)

I cannot WAIT for your Season 3 reactions. It’s absolute PEAK content
Agreed 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
I know especially since he breaks down each character so perfectly!!
Same
One thing I love about this series is that they very easily could have written off Korras' dad as unimportant or stoic but weak and instead they made him an absolute badass.
20:03 I’ve always assumed that Aang would visit the library often and mended his relationship with the owl Wan. They did say that Aang would spend lots of time in the spirit realm so it makes sense. He probably chatted with Iroh often too.
Wong? Its name is Wan Shi Tong (万事通)
I wrote more about this in another comment but, Wan Shi Tong just wanted Jinora to stay once he learned she was connected to the Avatar that Unalaq was trying to capture. He went and got Unalaq when he flew off, since Jinora could now be bait. Eg 22:10
@@daphnethegamer thanks
@@needyverse okay that actually makes a lot of sense lol
"you are the avatar come on" 😭😭 why everyone forgets she cant bend in there
It's not really clear yet that humans that enter through the portal can bend whereas through meditation you can't (we only know the latter based on previous knowledge and Tenzin reminds us again). At this point, it looked like the area where the spirit portals are within the spirit world was the one place people can bend, but of course we see later that Korra can't defend herself even within that same place. They'll clarify that more the following episodes, but that info can be easy to miss when you first watch it.
@@bch7905 Unalaq says the episode before that unlike meditation, going through the portal lets you keep your bending. What about that needed to be clarified?
@@bch7905 but he literally said "u can do this if u entered from the south"
@@alwaysanewinterest I stand corrected then lmao I think it's more of an easily forgotten info when we are physically seeing Korra in the same area as if it makes a difference where they are, at least that's how many reactors who comment on it tend to miss that part. I'm trying to give benefit of the doubt ig lol
No, its very very clear. @@bch7905
You can't use bending when you MEDITATE into the spirit world!! We learned that in ATLA.
You can only use bending there when you enter physically through the portals because you take your body and bending power with you.
Did you notice that when Korra left Iroh in the spirit world it zoomed out to pride rock from lion king.
Aangs words to tenzin are the most loving and heartfelt words a father can ever tell their children. He just wanted them to find their own successes and theor own personalities outside his shadow. And they did 😢😊😊
That tea party scene with Iroh was nice, like the Mad Hatter thing, except a lot less chaotic. 😉
if i had a nickel for every time i burst into tears simply from seeing the unexpected face of the sweet old man character that i missed dearly, i'd have two nickels which isnt a lot but weird that it happened twice
I swear I was thinking the same exact thing 😂
I love how much you see that this really is a show about characters who do bad things, but the better characters try to make amends / change / grow.
I do wonder how much of Mako & Bolin’s personalities & decisions come from being orphaned young & forced to be on the street & grow up (in some way) quickly. Not that it makes what they do okay, but they’ve probably only had each other for so long that (and being brothers, they’re stuck together, or maybe are used to angering / annoying one another…. but they had to come back to each other partly out of necessity). They still need to grow socially & interpersonally.
In Korra’s era, bending is becoming more MMA style, like pro-bending. This makes sense in a world where different benders live together and after the public reveal of the order of the white lotus dedicated to studying the principles behind all of the bending styles.
It’s been so nice seeing someone get as excited and hyped as I did the first time I watched this show 😊
I LOVE your "Legend of Korra" reactions! ❤
Well, tbh, all Air Benders should be able to enter the Spirit World due to them being the most spiritually attuned Benders. The fact that Tenzin can't is upsetting for him, since he is the only Air Bending Master so being a spiritual advisor is important.
Which is the role Iroh took.
Plus mako is a hormonal teenager, it would make sense relationships isnt always going to go perfectly (for any of the team avatar people actually)
24:22 That's a phoenix! 🐦🔥
she is indeed a prodigy when it comes to spiritual things
Absolutely love your videos! They always make me smile.
This was peak love triangle and Bolin his acting stuff. Wish this wasn’t a thing in Book 2. Also because this was held more in Republic City than in the Southern Water Tribe. If we got a bit more focus on the Civil War and eventually Unalaq’s master plan it would have been so much better. A bit more fights or Spirit World stuff.
37:14 i feel your frustrations here. HAHAHA! 🤦🏻♂️😂
to me its not as much Aang expected this future of tenzin but more like Tenzin believes that this is what aang wants for him, this is his own mentality of trying to uphold the airnomad culture that he feels the pressure from
He's really trying to be just like Aang, which makes perfect sense and is noble. Though they are gigantic shoes to fill, literally the most important person in recent history was his dad lol
Tenzin is my favorite character. He tries his best all the time.
I love this series so much. Being on a rewatch with you is so fun
Amanda Tori Meeting !!! I screamed! 🎉
Korra's dad is so cool 🥰
Mako is a teen, too. But he will grow up, too. Just watch
Can someone who's read the comics let me know, did they ever tell the story of Iroh and the spirit world before he met Aang? Zhao referenced it in season 1 and we saw he noticed Aang riding a dragon spirit. Was he looking for a way to bring back his son?
I bet you’ll love season 3 and 4
Korra always has to learn the hard way
I just finished watching your ATLA and other TLOK videos, and was like now I’ll have to wait... THIS IS PERFECT
20:03 Wan Shi Tong changed his tune when he learned Jinora came here with the Avatar, because Unalaq was looking for the Avatar. He told Jinora she could stay in the library, so he could fly off and find Unalaq to capture Jinora as bait. Eg 22:10
17:45 I waited so many episodes for that gasp, it was totally worth it lol. This had me do the same thing but I got super weepy as well on my first watch.
SEASON 3 IS MY FAV SEASON I CANT WAIT AAAAA
Enjoyed the video! Would love to see you react to Schitt’s Creek
bro seeing iroh always makes me cry
Nice reaction!! cant wait for the finale
I love your videos, keep going
17:49 Irur 😩
Peak reaction! Can't wait for the remaining episodes! Mako is so bad at relationship compared to his job's excellency.
Can you react to "Raya and The Last Dragon"? 😭💖
24:19 sssssuuuure.... I am inclined to agree but that is not a dragon 😅 resembles more the Vermilion Bird.
I was editing and realised it’s meant to be a phoenix 😆

I wonder if anyone finds the plot about Asami and Mako interesting, because when I rewatch (if) this season I just fast forward it
it's a phoenix
Can you please watch horrible histories as a growing up in the 2000's that show was tge best specifically series 1-5.
An airbender's life goal is to achieve the level of enlightenment to be able to go into the spirit world, but even masters don't always (Aang got his tattoos before he froze, but didn't go until Heibai accidentally pulled him in). However, an Avatar absolutely HAS to go. I feel sorry for Tenzin that Aang raised him with a warped sense of what an Air Nomad is, mixed with the expectations of an Avatar. And in the next 2 seasons, he will make more of thise mistakes without it being properly addressed from that angle, and pass his issues on to others, forever polluting the concept of an Air Nomad rathed than saving them.
It's sad to see that the Air Acolytes - nonbender nuns and monks from other nations seen in the background of the temples - have a better understanding of Tenzin's culture than Tenzin does, despite that the air nation was historically all benders. The acolytes originated in the comics as cultural appropriators who offended Aang by accident, but they made up and he managed to turn them into a force for preserving his culture. They based their understanding of airbenderd on oral tradition and writing from non Avatar air nomad sources, and in the end, they are sadly more accurate- an awful white saviour style message to carry across.

Yay!
I didn’t catch this years ago. How did Unilac bend in the spirit world?
He entered through the spirit portal. If you enter through there, you can bend. If you don't, you can't bend.
Further clarification, the reason people cant bend in the spirit world through normal means is because they dont bring their body. When you enter through the portals, you bring your body.
YAAAAAAYYYYY
Have you seen home alone 2
I think a lot of ppl are too hard on Mako. The guy is in his late teens/early 20s throughout the show, 19 here. I'm sure he is aware that he isn't handling this situation right but he as a teenage seems to be naïve on how to go about it, I think he just wants to keep the peace but it isn't working. The emotional intelligence is lacking at that age for many people.
I did a lot worse as a teen and young adult haha
Especially qhen it comes to relationships
People like to rag on Mako so much because of this season. But doesn’t anyone else think it’s weird that Korra remembered everything EXCEPT the fight where she and Mako broke up? Just to force him into a no-win situation because the writers decided we needed more drama.
It does feel a bit that way but I thought it was pretty clear what Mako needed to do even in that difficult situation.
Mako gets shafted this season even by the fans xD
When will you upload the Jurassic World movie?
💙
I will die on this hill. Mako gets way too much hate for his decision here. Korra needs to save the world right now. It’s not a good time to break the news that they broke up to her.
Should he have? Yes. Is he trying to do what he thinks is best for others? Also yes. He’s not lying to try and get one over on them and cheat, he’s lying to keep Korra focused on what she needs to be focused on.
Idk, based on that train of thought he shouldn’t have broken up with her in the first place. Or started dating Asami. Also just from a writing perspective, even though I’m not a big fan of what they did, at least it makes Mako good at some things and terrible at other things which makes for a good character. Idk what “hate” you’re referring to but he definitely dropped the ball at the end there. I guess I’ll only truly know in the next couple episodes if he did the wrong thing for the right reason. 🤷♂️
@@thecocoacouch he gets some hate and people saying he’s the worst character. I’m fine with saying that should have been handled better. Korra was only trying to save the South Pole when he broke up with her, the stakes have increased
I'm early!
The writers were so lame for not writing a normal romantic relationship
People always talk about how they really don't like Mako in this season, but to me, Bolin is more unlikable here
16:01 I feel like that situation could've been avoided had jinora not ran after the butterfly and therefore korra wouldn't have ran after her and not be aware of her surroundings.
Yeah but she's still a kid haha
@@fatbabyd2813 they were on a mission and jinora got distracted over something dumb
@@daurydavis3983Yeah, like a kid does.
@@ZeallustImmortal that was not the time to act like a kid
To be fair, Mako and Korra broke up so if he and Asami want to get together, he isn't cheating on Korra this time.
Precisely why the right choice would have been to tell Korra immediately 😆😆
@@thecocoacouch I agree; them dating was fine, under the circumstances, but when Korra came back, Mako should have set her straight.
I disagree, at least with the fact that he started “dating” Asami. I disliked them as a couple, and to me it just highlights even more how toxic Mako is in regards to romance. He loved Asami, but he’s in-love with Korra; plus, maybe there was a small part of him that didn’t want to break up with her, but he was rash. Asami and Mako should’ve never kissed, and they shouldn’t have ever been an idea, but the director’s wanted more drama, so they made it this way. They said that in an interview too.
@@taylorhall1988 I don't think they should have gotten together either, but then, there are a lot of people who get together in real life that I don't think should. My point is that at the time Asami and Mako started up as a couple again, Mako had broken up with Korra so whether we like them as a couple or not, once Mako is no longer with Korra, he is free to be with whoever he wants as long as they want to be with him.
That does not mean it was a good choice for either him or Asami, only that he was not cheating on Korra. Keep in mind that both Asami and Mako are 19 years old at this point, only 18 when they first met, and while some 19 year olds make solid relationship choices, over all, at 19 you still tend to get a lot of relationship drama and bad choices. I raised 4 daughters, and I remember well the boyfriends choices they made through their teen years and even at 19, that was still an issue.
The thing is, just because we don't like the person who is chosen does not mean the person is wrong to start dating someone. I'm not saying it was not a bad choice, I'm just saying Mako was not dating this time.
I honestly don't think Mako and Korra are suited for each other nor that Mako and Asami are. Mako's personality does not fit well with either of them in my opinion, but if this was real life, I'd have to say that it isn't up to me to decide, that's up to them.
@@TheFireMonkey again, I’m not saying that he cheated on Korra, rather the fact that it was literally less than a day that he made out with Asami, that’s all. He cheated on Asami with Korra in season 1, and because of her previous experience with him, I don’t think that she would’ve, realistically kissed him, or at the very least she would’ve still kissed him but told him that nothing more could happen with them. *spoiler alert* they don’t date, Mako doesn’t date either of them after this whole fiasco. He remains friends with them, which is good, but he doesn’t date anyone else.
I didn’t like the hold Rava thing.
"I just question his choices in his personal life".... ha, wait for it
Godzilla entered the spirit world as well i guess😂
I just hate how everything that happens in this book is ultimately Korra's fault.
If Korra didn't open the Southern Portal, her uncle couldn't take his physical form to the Spirit World.
Korra refused to take a side between the North and the South until they started a civil war.
Then Korra went into the Spirit World unprepared in a rash attempt to stop her uncle.
Like, if Korra didn't do anything from the start, very little to nothing would have happened. Maybe the civil war would still happen.
Actually, it was her taking the side of the south that actually started the civil war if you’ll recall. If she never chose a side, her dad would still be in prison.
Also why is the southern portal thing just Korra’s fault? Literally neither Tenzin or her dad even thought that would be a bad thing. Unalaq fooled everyone.
@@Gamelover254 She's the avatar, therefore she has a higher level of responsibility. Not only that, but it was her direct actions that leads to Harmonic Convergence. If she herself sat home and did nothing, the world ending threat wouldn't have been possible to begin with.
Regardless of if she were tricked or not(as if that's a valid excuse to say it's not her fault), she was the only person in the world that could have started this, so she should have been more discerning about the actions she was taking.
1000% her fault
I gotta say though, I didn’t feel bad for Asami. At all. She shouldn’t have kissed him and he shouldn’t have let her or led her on. I feel that Asami is a pointless character, they just wanted to add some eye candy for the men, create drama, and then a non-bending character.
So I guess Sokka is a pointless character too
He did say he’d broken up with her and he was being VERY loving at the moment she kissed him. I myself wouldn’t have made a move THAT quickly be it’s not like she was wrong for doing it necessarily. I feel bad because he went back on his word about breaking up with her and just took Korra back. Asami had every right to feel horrible about it even if she was a little hasty in getting back with Mako.
@@daurydavis3983 no, we saw him from the start, and he evolved from just being a comic relief to actually being a critical part of the team, and he became a very skilled warrior. Plus, if you’re comparing Asami to Sokka based solely on the fact that he’s a non-bender, that’s very much incorrect. Had he been just a comic relief throughout the series? Yes, I would consider him a pointless character. Asami acts the same way she does at the start of the show, throughout it, and at the end. She is a pointless character, the directors who made this said the same thing. If you want to debate with someone, debate with them 🤷🏼♀️
@@thecocoacouch he did, that’s true. But it’s the same story as it started with Korra: suddenly he’s available so he automatically goes to the next interested woman. You don’t have to agree with me, it won’t hurt my feelings, I genuinely love your reactions and I do respect your opinions on the characters. For me though, I don’t see the point of Asami. All she does is complain about her father (which, valid and relatable for me), and stir up drama. She knows how he feels about Korra, even if he did break up with her. And a woman with good intentions and quality self-respect wouldn’t take any man, who cheated on her and declared that he was in love with the woman he cheated on her with, back immediately. And honestly, probably not at all.
She's the opposite of pointless tho? Her skill as a driver saves them several times and her wealth and family connections save them a bunch of other times too. Just bc she's pretty doesn't make her pointless. This whole comment's giving internalised misogyny tbh.
