    I was honestly so impressed with how bold this finale was. I really loved how epic it all felt for the midpoint of a tv show. I wasn't sure about this season but the last few episodes really solidified this season as a worthy watch. Enjoy ;)

    I think the idea behind the light and dark spirits is that they *can't* kill each other. They're yin and yang, just like the moon and ocean spirits. A piece of light lives in the dark spirit and a piece of dark lives inside the light spirit.

  • @needyverse
    @needyverse Месяц назад +17

    31:40 Light can’t exist without dark, and vice versa. Korra remembered this, which was why she was trying to sense Raava in UnaVaatu. She hadn’t been able to find her yet, and UnaVaatu tried to say she was looking for something that was gone. Jinora was better attuned to spiritual energy, and helped GUIDE Korra to Raava. Jinora didn’t bring Raava back to life.

    Honestly, one of the few reactors who actually understood this season. There were genuine mistakes in writing and animation, and there are a couple of minor details I'm still not thrilled with, but in terms of the themes of this season, you nailed it.

    • @cloudwatcher608

      I agree. The more I’ve rewatched this season and watched reactors view it I’ve come to appreciate it so much more. There is so much to love, with Varrick and Zhu Li introduced, the growth of Korra and Tenzin individually and in their relationship, and the story of Wan. I used to think the kaiju element at the end was a bit silly, but the way it perfectly ties into Korra learning who she is apart from being the Avatar really works

    My theory is, that the growing darkness and negativity surely did add to this size that Unavaatu took on, but the reason why he took on that shape is likely, that because Unalaq wasn't really in much control after all, surely Vaatu wouldn't want to be second in command inside someone else's body. Once I reached the end of the finale, it was an interesting feeling (incredible work by the writers) of the start of something new - like the way I felt when I first started watching ATLA on TV as a kid. Amazing reaction! People don't usually get the writers choice for the ending of s2 w the past lives but I've always loved it bc it's devastating and nobody could have predicted it, it brings smt darker to the show that not everything always works out, that sometimes life takes a turn for the worse and it's sad but it doesn't mean it's end, just a new beginning🥰
    Also so surprised you actuallythink Korra and Mako could work together as bf/gf i've never seen or heard any youtuber say that haha i think there is a consensus that they were both too emotionally immature since they're only 18/19yo, but almost everyone usually sees Mako and Korra as bad in a relationship mostly bc their personnalities don't match for a romantic relationship since they're both so hot-headed and stubborn, there's no balance between them, not one of them can balance the other out which is what you need in a realtionship you need to have similarities sure but you need to have enough differences to complement each other to balance out their flaws, which is smt that Korra and Mako def do not have haha too fiery both of them lol and as we've learned from our avatars - balance is key, without it things turn into chaos.

    One thing that a lot of people don't realize is that the only reason why the Avatar can bend all the elements is because that they have Rava inside them. Without Rava they can only bend the element that they were naturally born with, for Korra that would be water bending. BTW Jinora didn't bring Rava back to life it was said in the beginnings episode part 2 and also in this one that neither Rava nor Vatu can truly be destroyed.

    People talk alot of trash, thinking that the writers made Aang out to be a notable father. Let me set the record straight.
    Aang, first and foremost. Was HUMAN. He had his faults, just like every avatar before him. He had to balance a wife, children, avatar duties, and healing the world after the 100 year war ended.
    All he wanted for his children was to find their own place in the world. To make theor own stories and legacy, and to do it despite their father's shadow over them
    Kia took after Kataras ability to waterbend, and has her father's passion, love, wisdom.
    Bumi was an esteemed and accomplished military officer.
    Aangs words to tenzin are the most heartfelt and sincere words. "You are not me, and you should not be me. You are Tenzin". Tenzin realized then and there who he is, was, and will be, with his father's guidance.
    And they all grew up well. They are strong, wise, loving, empathetic, and successful. Thanks to Aangs time as their father, as well as katara

    In one moment their chest beams are equal, then korra easily overpowers unalok-vatu and sub dues him, then moments later unalok-vatu easily over powers korra.

    I know it was a kind of controversial writing choice, but I appreciate that they did allow Korra to have her connection to the other avatars severed. Not only because it adds some serious consequences to the show and helps to push Korra’s character forward, but also because I think it’s a nice way to wrap up the general storylines of the past avatars. Their stories and characters don’t get dragged on for too long, and in the meta of show, I think being detached from Korra probably allows all the avatars who came before her to finally rest completely as sprits.

    With Korra re-Bonding Ravva and losing her connection to the past Avatars she essentially started the cycle over so i like to think of her as the Last Avatar of the First Cycle and the First Avatar of the Second Cycle

    I’m gonna be honest, I didn’t like their choice at first, I was very upset. Aang was my favorite character, and I loved how they could talk to the old Avatars. That being said, the show Korra and its world has grown on me a lot of the years, and so has the decision they made. I have grown to understand, and remember that Korra is its own story and world. While season 2 has its issues, the next two seasons make it all worth it.

    i also like that it ended like that, BUT! Its sad that no other Avatars will know about the first Avatar, but you know, books and all will probably be made (or is made??) but yeah! i would love if there was another series of the universe, of old avatars or new ones. or even a spin off.

    So for the longest time I hated season 2 because of the severing the past lives. It took me awhile to actually appreciate how bold of a choice that was and how impressive korra is. Until Unavattu shot her directly with a blast, she was beating him to a pulp all on her own. No elements, no spirit, just her. I don't remember who commented this, but apparently Jinora had Wan's old teapot that carried Raava at one point, so when she showed up she basically sped up the process of Raava coming back!

  • @advmx3
    @advmx3 Месяц назад

    The Raava/Korra situation was created so the Avatar in future stories will never have a win-button, which is the past lives.
    And by Never the creators were not joking.

It's not that we hate this season (at least I don't), I just think it's the weakest one in the franchise. You'll see why in the next few weeks

    I honestly believe this season has more of the satisfying ending then 3 and 4, but of course the ending of book 3 in the last airbender is still at the top. I do look forward to the season 3 and 4 reactions but it will be different but similar to the last airbender.
