At work now I'm lonely and alone and as a small child can remember this song playing as my father drives his 3 daughters down the country roads in his yellow station wagon just thinking about you Dad I miss u
What a great dad. The yellow station wagon had me laughing, thank you very much. I remember those. Didn't think they were ugly, even those with faux wood paneling on the outside. My buddy had one, hippied it up. It was nice. Laying in the back on bean bags, enjoying drinks and smokes with sounds like this blasting. Oh those were the days.

Steely Dan music is unique, timeless and classic. If you can catch them in a rare live concert, don’t miss it - they still rock the house . “Fire in the hole”
I respectfully disagree. IMO, Steely Dan was a studio band and they perfected the art of the studio, with re-take after re-take and polishing their work to a high gloss. Them playing live is contrary to what made them great and at best is nothing more than a novelty, albeit a pleasant novelty. And at worst, a cynical money-grab... something right out of a Steely Dan lyric.
In 1993, I just missed them in concert as I had a flight ✈️ across the Atlantic for my junior semester abroad on the same day. On the tarmac I regretted not canceling my semester. In 2003, I was driving aimlessly, exploring a new town while listening to the car radio. The DJ announced that Steely Dan was about to take the stage at Wolf Trap in northern Virginia near Washington, DC, two exits away. Exited. Bought a ticket 🎫 and walked in as first set was starting. Passed a guy sitting with brown tube socks pulled up while air drumming in ecstasy as I searched for a seat. Later in the show, heat lighting surrounded the amphitheater creating a natural light show complementing the music. Leaving the concert, a gold Jaguar 🐆 was blasting Steely Dan as it slowly pulled out of the grass parking lot. Driving home, no car radio was necessary.
My parents introduced me to Steely Dan and I introduced my children, my children loved this song. They were telling us in the car to play "back jack" , I miss those days as they are all adults now.
