using your 512gb gb build. Tab (wireless keyboard, tried a wired keyboard too) isn't opening the menu in most games under the light gun section. I also tried Area 51(psx) and can't get the menu to pop up when hitting tab
Tab doesn't work on the later retroarch. You can use it by enabling it in in retroarch but go into retroarch and then settings input port one binds then at the bottom you'll see light gun icons. That's where you want to map your light gun controls. We have a Batocera setup video that gets setup the same way but I'll have to film a tutorial for retropie using the later retroarch version.
Hey! Yeah you can. I haven't done it personally but you would need two bars. One below your tv/monitor and one above since you can only pair one gun to a bar.
Haven't tried it myself but everybody says you can but you need two dolphin bars since the dolphin bar can only detect one at a time. It can detect two actually but it gets out of whack really fast and becomes unplayable.
It's capable of working everywhere. It depends on the emulation platform you are using too though. I've found retropie is a little more touchy and can give you issues sometimes configuring light guns for the console collections. I haven't tried NES on retropie yet but I've tried multiple other collections with Batocera and each has worked perfectly.
hi, i followed your messages. I detect the keys but not the movement. when I enter the settings Mame does not detect the shot button. i am using a controller with motion plus. thank you
You likely need a original Wii remote the later motion plus ones can be a problem sometimes. If you're on a newer version of retropie too it may have different settings. This video is from a older version than what's current
It should. I have yet to tackle that myself. I just got it running on naomi/dreamcast games. We have a video for setting it up on House of the Dead 2 so I will be trying PlayStation next in the very near future. I"m going to give it a go on the time crisis ps games.

Go into your retroarch settings and you likely need to change the device type to light gun option it's probably set on game pad. If that doesn't do it could be different now as this is a older video done on a older version of the software
This is a great tutorial. I wish I had seen this before i set mine up... would've saved me hours. Is there a way to set up a second Wii remote for 2 player games?
That’s why I made it. I had such a nightmare trying to do it myself the first time around and then I updated at one point to one of those wonky updates that caused more issues than it solved and I couldn’t get any of the light gun settings to work. Luckily it was just that update once I moved into the newer one a couple weeks later all was good again. To set up two Wii remotes you actually need another dolphin bar. You’d do the exact same process into the other usb 3 port. It sucks but the dolphin bars only pick up one connection at a time. You could run the other bar opposite the other so one would be on top and above above or you could probably stick them together as long as you’ve careful not to push any buttons on them while doing so.
@@BartSubelack ah okay. Yeah it’s probably picking up your 2 player controls as 1 and 2 so Wii mote is 3. May be able to select the Wii mote in retroarch settings. I don’t have a light gun on my arcade setup so I’m not entirely sure there. You could unplug the two arcade controls from the USB port and that would def solve it I think but that’s not ideal to have to do every time.
The problem I have with this is that the controller interprets the exact bar position as the center of the screen and the shooting is anything but intuitive :(
I use it in my 70 inch and it’s pretty good with determining screen sizes/position. The gun however isn’t you standard aiming setup you don’t really aim like you would a regular gun you have to just get a feel for where the crosshairs are on the screen and move it accordingly. Definitely takes getting use to and for anybody used to actually shooting it’s night and day difference for sure. Your retropie version could also affect the end result too. I have some retropie update versions that made this totally unplayable for a while there.
Wow! Thanks so much for this tutorial. I created a 4 player stand up cabinet for my raspberry pi but I've been trying to figure out light gun games as the final addition to it. Yeah I agree especially when one dolphin bar works fine with 2 Wii remotes on Wii games on other emulation platforms. The capabilities are there with the dolphin bar but apparently not in the mode used for other collections beyond Wii.
So they call it wireless but it's wired in and connects via usb. It's called wireless because it's a wireless connection between the Wii remote and the sensor bar. Tends to confuse people.

Haven't tried it myself but everybody says you can but you need two dolphin bars since the dolphin bar can only detect one at a time. It can detect two actually but it gets out of whack really fast and becomes unplayable.
Does the light-gun only work for MAME? Or would it also work as a blaster for NES roms?
@@OfficialChaseBrogan the wiimote is original, with the dolphin bar on PC and retroarch it works.
Thank you
What about Playstation games? Does it work with those
It should. I have yet to tackle that myself. I just got it running on naomi/dreamcast games. We have a video for setting it up on House of the Dead 2 so I will be trying PlayStation next in the very near future. I"m going to give it a go on the time crisis ps games.
Can you include a link for the Dolphin bar?

CHD files. How do you get chd files to work? Been trying for a little bit and none of the CHD files work. Can you provide a tutorial on how to get it to work?
It’s been a while since I did a retropie card but I don’t remember doing anything special you jsut have to find reliable files. What collections are you using them for? Mame?
@@OfficialChaseBrogan
Trying to run Area 51 through mame2010 or 2003. Loaded the CHD file and the zip file but the rom doesn’t load. I have hundreds of other make roms that boot up fine. CHD are the issue.
@@jlg2926 hmm not sure but shoot me an email. I’ll send you the rom I use and see if that works. I’ll look into it further tonight and see if I can figure out the chd files more.

Figured it out but appreciate you getting back to me. Subscribing now!
Got this set up, but my cursor won't move with the wimote, buttons work though. Anyone know how to fix?
@@OfficialChaseBrogan Thanks so much. I ordered the 2nd dolphin bar and it'll be here tomorrow. Keep up the great work!
@@partywithrex sounds great! Thanks will do!
Can i use 2 guns? Thank you
Yeah but you'd need two sensor bars since each sensor only picks up signals from one gun at a time
@@OfficialChaseBrogan ok thank you. A normal Wiimote whitout motion plus Is enough??
Sorry my english
@@davideberluti5152 yep! With mayflash dolphin bar. No your English is good 👍🏻👍🏻
My problem is it sees the wiimote as player 3
What is your setup? Are you on an arcade or on regular tv/monitor setup?
@@OfficialChaseBrogan i have a 2player arcade 1up setup. Build a pie4 in it.
@@OfficialChaseBrogan I'll try updating then, thank you!
@@Luisiroth any time
Wow! Thanks so much for this tutorial. I created a 4 player stand up cabinet for my raspberry pi but I've been trying to figure out light gun games as the final addition to it.
I have an older raspberry pi 3, do you still a compatible card? I heard you say you sell the keyboards, what about the dolphin bar? I'd like to support your company.
Great video. Thanks!

👍
I can use that light gun to play duck hunt
Yes for sure
@@OfficialChaseBrogan Awesome!
It's ridiculous that you have to buy 2 dolphin bars to play with 2 players though.
Yeah I agree especially when one dolphin bar works fine with 2 Wii remotes on Wii games on other emulation platforms. The capabilities are there with the dolphin bar but apparently not in the mode used for other collections beyond Wii.
Is the sensor bar a mayflash dolphin bar wireless or wired ?
So they call it wireless but it's wired in and connects via usb. It's called wireless because it's a wireless connection between the Wii remote and the sensor bar. Tends to confuse people.
It works with 2 guns/controllers?
You would need two sensors for two guns. Only one Gun works with each sensor.
@@OfficialChaseBrogan thank you!!!
