@@OfficialChaseBrogan I tried all night to get the wiimote to connect to my PC to use with RetroArch as just a regular controller. I was hoping to use the GameCube style controller that plugs into the bottom of the wiimote. I followed other videos that gets Windows to "recognize" the wiimote, but it never fully connects as the LEDs just keep flashing. It looks like using that USB light bar may allow the wiimote to connect properly? Can you confirm this? Or does it just connect for the purposes of the light bar itself? Would love to play NES games with the wiimote or SNES games with the controller
Great guide! One quick question though, is this possible without dolphin bar. My wii motes allready working in windows and I have wii remote sensor bar. Is there anything that dokphin bar do which is not possible in my scenario? Thank you for your opinion. Regards. Kobatz
Hello Thank You 4 this tutorial but i have Question what is the name of holder, clips the one holding the dolphin bar?? Ps: You don't have to click the profile button on the dolphin bar every time, just select the profile with wiimot, or you can configure a script that will allow you to run a given profile after starting the game ;) 💪
@@vadergamer7722 i followed this guide and worked as described. I noticed that my games that used FB Neo did not work out of the box, but if you go into the Menus - Controls and change the device to Mouse (full) it works right away! You'll have to save the control override for that specific game to get it to hold.
Got the mayflash dolphin bar. works awesome. Can I have 2 wii light guns connected at same time. When I synced one the other one went out. Keep up the awesome work
@RetroGaminfGuy great video, have you ever had the trouble where the once configuring the wiimote that you close the mame menu that u lose the cross hairs and only the gamepad works and no longer the wiimote? This is frustrating as it works out the box like you said when starting a new game but the trigger doesn’t work. Any tips would help running batocera 38
Do you need two dolphin bars for two light guns? Can one dolphin bar read to light guns? I'm also curious if third party we were most with motion Plus work with this setup? I'm talking about the high quality third party ones.
Hi, Does it have to be The Mayflash dolphin bar to be able to make it work on batocera? Or can you use any sensor bar for pc with usb connection? Thanks for a Great video and Chanel.
Thanks for the kind words! I've only ever used the dolphin bar. I know on other platforms this is the only one that works. Not sure if Batocera had more compatibility than the other platforms.
So this process does work well for some games like lethal enforcers, but does not work for games like Police trainer. I can get a moving crosshair and gunshot sound in game when pulling the trigger, but none of the shots register on any target. Any suggestions?
Hello, I have a question. How is Batocera managing wiimote energy saving? Nintendo Wii handles this, powering off the connected devices. But in Batocera my wiimote is always on, draining its battery. Is there a way to fix this issue?
So, that's how to use a light gun with one button and combine it with the game pad. This would be more challenging for Serious Sam 2 on the PC for Windows. It requires a keyboard to move around, a mouse to fire and shows a crosshair: it will not work with a gamepad. Would it require an emulator platform for customising game controls with the light gun and enabling a gamepad?
Hmmm not familiar with the game but I wonder if it could be done with the d pad on top of the remote to move around while using the trigger to shoot. The other option could be a Wii remote with a nunchuck attached. I was actually trying to map goldeneye for n64 to the Wii remote/nunchuck combination just as a experiment. I was thinking wouldn't it be cool to turn goldeneye into a light gun game. I was able to do it but the navigation wasn't smooth enough where it was an ideal setup. That's a tough game to customize though. I should have chose a easier game to try that with.
@@OfficialChaseBrogan There are games that can't easily be mapped, tethering you to how the programmer wants you to play it. There are so many buttons to press and you have to try loads to see what they do! It can be difficult controlling more recent car games, like how to get it to set off and steer: the intro, voice and realistic effects will persuade you to think it must be a good game, but losing playability. It's like you'd have to look for an instruction video when you don't have to with other games! I'm aware of the simplicity of earlier games.
Is there a way to get two players? I just got all the stuff and dont see a way to do it. The only way i can get the wii mote’s camera to work is with mode 2 on the DolphinBar, and its manual says only one wii mote will connect in that mode. The other thing is i can only get the curser to work if i go into setting and set my mouse to be the wii mote. I haven't seen anyone else having to do that so im curious if things are working right.
You're right the dolphin bar in that mode will only work with 1 light gun. In 4 it works with multiple Wii remotes as that's the setting you use when using the dolphin bar in Wii games. You should be able to use two players with two separate dolphin bars though. 1 above and one below your tv/monitor. I didn't have to do the switch you mentioned so not sure about that part. One thing worth mentioning though is it depends what version you are running of retropie. The video was done on previous versions so it's possible the process has changed slightly.
@@OfficialChaseBrogan Thanks for the reply. I actually thought about getting a second dolphinbar too, nice! I'd just worry that since i'm currently only getting it to work through the system's mouse, they'd both just try to connect to the same player. Yeah, I was curious if the versions had something to do with it too. I'm running batocera v34, so things should be current. As for mode 4, you'd think i could just use that, but it doesn't want to pick up the cursor in that mode for some reason. I'm gonna have to test a wii game to make sure it at least works properly there.
Hello, ita really interesting. I tried to do this but the crosshair just works inside in a quarter of the screen. I can't reach that the poinr works in the whole screen. Do you know why? Thanks a lot!
@@supermas you're using everything right for sure. Is it doing that on every game or just one? I've never seen this before. Your dolphin bar is set to the right setting in terms of above or below where you have it mounted too right?
It happens in every lightgun game that I play. mayflash is at the bottom on my tv. I've tried to upgrade the firmware of the mayflash dolphin bar but is on the last one.
This is the video I've been waiting for. Thanks RPG!!! Super simple and well explained.
