If you’d like to donate to the channel or just show your appreciation, all the details are below. All donations and tips that come from you, go into my daughters college fund and a fund for channel equipment. I created this channel for her so she has videos of her father talking and doing something he enjoys(listening to music and talking about it) since I don’t have any of those of my father. I decided that all funds that might come from this will go to her as well :) thank you again for your generosity guys, I appreciate you all more then you will ever know.
Your name will be added to the Thank you supporters’ video that plays at the end of every video and you get to pick a video for me to react to. Thank you so much!! If you donate and pick a song, I will get to it in under 24 hours!

This literally shut my brain off by the end. This was one of the coolest pieces of music I have ever heard. Also RIP to Bozzio's forearms after this.

  • @salsalzman2325

The sheet music for this is readily available. It is the most insane thing you will ever see in your life. Nested tuplets, especially the last 4 bars and the 11 note tuplet near the end - there is a reason this has been called one of the most complicated pieces of music ever written and it is a staple of modern orchestral music.

  • @arjenav5968

Not clear to me from what you said, but you are aware that this is not Frank Zappa, but his son Dweezil's band, playing dad's music insanely well? Thanks for doing this one, do try to listen to some other Zappa original renditions of this for your own sake, not reacting. You won't regret. Glad you discovered several angles of Frank Zappa's music. Try Jazz From Hell :)

  • @HakanTunaMuzik

Wish you had listened to the original Frank Zappa version from Live in New York, this is not Frank Zappa, it's his sons cover band, hence why it's called Zappa plays Zappa :-)

  • @CribNotes

In case you didn't know.....Steve Vai got his career started playing in Frank Zappa's band!!

  • @MJM1309

Frank Zappa a drummer before moving to guitar wrote this music for drums. The reason it is called the black page is because there is not much white showing on the white paper. Terry Bozio said it was the hardest he has ever played. It was what Zappa gave Terry for his audition. Buckle up this will blow your mind as a drummer Enjoy In my years I never attempted this. I knew my limitations.

  • @jamesw.5855

I`ve told ya. 'City of Tiny Lights'. Live Halloween at the Palladium. Adrian Belew and a very young Terry Bozzio. Put it on your list.

  • @steves2176

It's called the Black Page because after Frank meticulously wrote it for Terry Bozzio to play, the page of sheet music looked "black" because of all those wild notes! Frank called it "statistically dense"! Talk about difficult to play! When Frank approached Terry after he wrote it, he said "Bozzio, what'dya think of this"? And Terry actually looked at the sheet music, freaked out and F'cking played it cold!! This is Dweezi Zappa, Frank's son, who formed this band that he called Zappa Plays Zappa in tribute of his father! In the concert, Dweezil plays a video of his dad on a large screen behind the drums playing something amazing on the very guitar that Dweezil was using during the show, and, Dweezil played along with his dad note by note. Afterwards, his voice was shaky with obvious emotion. Dweezil said that after picking his band members for this tour, they practiced for over TWO YEARS to get everything in the set absolutely down before going out on tour. Terry Bozzio was a major influence in my drumming since 1975-1979 where I personally believe he was at his best which is what Frank brought out of him! After Terry came Vinnie Colaiuta! He ain't no slouch either!!

Very nice reaction, I really enjoyed looking at your facial expressions and your appreciation of the music. Another great song for you, as a drummer, is ”Don’t You Ever Wash That Thing”. Zappa had two drummers and Ruth on percussion at the time and there is a drum battle in this song. One of my favorites, you will enjoy, I promise!

  • @kenlawless7247

This is the notorious Drum piece written by Zappa that is supposedly unplayable. Probably why there are three drummers. Most people don't know Zappa started as a drummer.

  • @CliffordLake

If one understands that Frank Zappa started out as a percussionist and that a great portion of his compositions revolved around the percussion, things become clearer.

  • @markdyer6996

I was going to say , please let those who don’t know , that this is Dweezil’s band , keeping his father’s music alive , albeit with some of Frank’s bands alumni . And to think he had to battle with his siblings ( who were in charge of the Zappa Family Trust which owns the rights ) to keep playing this music , is as mind boggling as it was sad . Thankfully tho they have settled those differences and Dweezil and his remarkable band plays on .

  • @Royale_with_Cheeze

Terry Bozzio posted a picture of a torn muscle in one of his arms. His arm was black.

  • @gerryk3114

THIS SHOW WAS ZAPPA PLAYS ZAPPA DWEEZIL’s BAND WITH TERRY AS A GUEST !!!

  • @pascalsimon9780

Incredible Band with Dweezil ! And incredible music of FZ, So unique and beautiful...

  • @steveowens2505

Bozzio played drums for Jeff Beck, Korn, and Missing Persons who Miles Davis cited as a favorite group.

  • @garyhernandezediting

    Crazy reaction dude!!!

  • @Frustino

Bozzio also sings while drumming another track called: Punky's Whips

  • @frankszappaschin

Im no musician but ive always like music , first found Zappa because of older family in 1985 , i just got his music straight away and never looked back , him and Beefheart just done things for me, no other music came close.

  • @petertrotman7708

Moggio is a great song and Alien Orifice with Vai on both tracks are superb.
