This is an excellent and very helpful video that gives us all the reality of some of the problem areas, which of course you don't find out about in the dealership videos. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences and discoveries of these things so that we be mindful of them as possible future Rangeline owners.
Great Video!!! We also thought the trim access door was a good idea, but reality was different, try gluing magnets on the inside of the aft inside of the door to hold in in place when closed. Have your dealer order you new side window covers, ours fit perfectly. Our inverter would shut down and never come back on even after cycling power at the disconnect; we have had several new inverters installed.
Yeah, I've got a later video where I stiffen the panel with aluminum bars and glue magnets on to hold it tightly closed. Took a couple of tries to find a glue that would hold well.
s William Ward I purchased a new Rangeline. The sliding door window was not installed properly and neither Airstream or Ram will fix it under any warranty. they both say that it is the others responsibility. Now the generator is leaking gas. It sounds like it may be up to Cummings to fix it. I am not sure what the warranties are worth?
I purchased a partially completed Rangeline that was hail damaged during construction. I has all the exterior mods complete. The interior has the sub floor and the wiring installed. I have watched your mod videos. They have helped me decipher some of what airstream was going to do. I would like to collaborate with you because you have taken most of the hidden panels apart. Would you be willing to contact me?
Nope - I've set it several times to disabled, but it keeps resetting to 3 hour timeout. I think the firefly is overriding what the local panel sets. I've learned to just switch the inverter off unless I'm actively using it.
@@dunclawler I found this in a forum. Wondering if its accurate. It seems like the most common Rangeline issue has to do with the inverter. Most owners, myself included, experience an issue where the inverter, seemingly for no reason, shuts itself off after 3-5 hours of being on. Most of the time, it can be corrected by simply turning the house power off/on again at the rear of the van. Most of the time Airstream has acknowledged this as a widespread issue and suggests replacing the SeeSoulLevel module with its 7 pin version. The 9 pin version is apparently causing comm issues with the inverter. This module is located in the back, drivers side cabinet, just above the inverter.
@@mateig8638 I've seen posts about the SeeLevel Soul module causing problems, and indeed I have a 9 pin version. It's possible that it's causing the inverter to reset to defaults, but I think it's more likely that the Firefly (which does control some of the inverter settings) is causing the reset rather than the tank level monitor. From what I've seen of the tank level monitor problems, it causes the inverter to not work at all. The reset is more subtle. If you need it to stay on longer, I'd recommend looking into the inverter control panel. Xantrex sells a remote control box for this inverter which you could mount somewhere accessible and then set the timeout to off from that. From what I've seen, it seems to reset to defaults fairly infrequently, and when I set it to off, it will stay for several days. Not an ideal workaround, but better than pulling the panel repeatedly.
I haven't tried that, but it looks like no clearance between the mattress and the roof. It would probably compress both. I found a better place to store it in the back - still working on the video for that.
Surprised that airstream is going the way of cheaper manufacturers and cut corners, poor fit, staples, plastic and aluminum pieces not properly attached. No thanks airstream.
In general the build quality of the Rangeline is pretty good - it was one of the reasons we picked it over some of the other manufacturers. Cabinets, trim, etc. are all higher quality than we saw on others. There have been some exceptions which is why I'm documenting the fixes.

Very cool Thanks for sharing. Following Have a great day

You have great videos. Inspiring.
Thanks - just trying to share what I've found with the van since there isn't a lot out there about the Rangeline

Sure - sounds like a fun project. I'd be happy to comment on what I've learned.
Hey did you ever sort out that inverter issue with it stopping after 3 hours?
Nope - I've set it several times to disabled, but it keeps resetting to 3 hour timeout. I think the firefly is overriding what the local panel sets. I've learned to just switch the inverter off unless I'm actively using it.
@@dunclawler ugh that’s so frustrating. I need to work from the van and need power for starlink for more than 3 hours at a time.

Can you store your pop top ladder in the actual pop top when closed?

Just posted the video with my ladder storage solution
