In this video, I will show you how I turn a messy, unorganized space in my basement into the perfect office for my needs. I am a maker and a RUclipsr so I needed a workspace that is suitable for editing videos. I also spend a great deal of time designing and modeling projects on my computer. Also, if you are familiar with my channel, I love to incorporate 3D printed parts whenever possible. Having multiple computers, a 3D printer, and possibly other machines in the future, I needed as much counter space as possible. I purchased the base cabinets from Ikea. These are their basic kitchen cabinets (15 inch thin profile). I custom built the countertops from red oak boards and I used Rubio Monocoat to finish and seal the counters.

when you ran your track up against your template to align the angle, shouldn't you have taken blade kerf into consideration since technically you were cutting on the waste side of the track?

I almost made that mistake. I made the adjustment off camera. Used poker cards as spacers.

A new sub! Love the videos! How do you like the Wen Track Saw?

You get what you pay for. I could not get a crisp clean cut for gluing up the angled pieces. I had to clean it up with my router against a straight edge.

Those will only work on ikea cabinets. Send me an email to artisanmadethings@gmail.com. I will check and see if I can find the files. If I have them, I will email them to you.

Why do people use particable board. So low quality garbage.

Wood is definitely a stronger and more durable material but, particle board and MDF is better for laminating because they are much more stable. They do not warp or bow and provide a perfectly flat surface for laminate material.

@@ArtisanMade Agree, would not had made the comment if you used MDF. I know it is heavy, but will last longer than particle board.
