I just wanted to remind you all in case you forgot that the united states occupied korea for around 4 years and with it also came HEAVY american cultural exportation for comsumption, and music was very much at the forefront with the development of sound technology. They didn't initiate this "stealing" of american music, it was imposed on them, much like in the rest of the world bc the exceptionalism of american cultural exports is designed and made so that no other country/language can compete with it/replicate it, which is part of the reason BTS is so amazing and groundbreaking with how global their music and reach became despite being korea and 90% of their discography being in korean and having 0 american industry support behind them. Any artist that starts making music at any level in english and in the US has an insane headstart compared to the resrt of the world's artists.

I can't judge y'all for all that guessing. Before the explanation came out, my initial theory was even more jacked up: Because we already knew he was about to go into the military, I took it as the character he's playing was already discharged from the army, something traumatic happened, cause there's still scrimmages at the North Korean border, ect. He comes back and in his head, he just landed from outer space and nothing from before is remembered, cause he can't deal with it. He spends like a whole year believing he's an 👽 and his little sister/neighbor whatever she is teaches him how to be human again. If she didn't already know him before, maybe she also genuinely believes he's from outer space. So like a year goes by. He decides its time, as the alien, to "go home" but subconsciously he's really preparing to return to reality, as he's finally ready to do so. He goes way TF outta town, believing he, as the 👽, is fixing to leave earth. But it's just him allowing his real self to come back. There is no ship, there was no wreck. It all was just an imagined trauma response. He hichhikes back into town as the real him, ready to face reality. --- said me a year and a half ago, but learned the truth. My narrative that I put soooooo much work in, was all for nothing. But that was a hellova story I thought I had.
