This came full circle bec this song was Jin's goodbye song to the BTS Army before he enlisted in the military in December 2022 and now he just got discharged last June 12, 2024 after 18 months of service as an active duty soldier. Chris Martin of Coldplay helped compose this song and Jin wrote the lyrics. The MV has so many symbolisms to BTS and Army portrayed here by the little girl.

Jin is one of the kindest humans on the planet. He is the anti-celebrity celebrity there is. The day after his release from the military, he held an event where he hugged 1,000 ARMYs for waiting for him.
That heartfelt "I love you" was definitely for fans, his members and i believe everyone he had to say goodbye to temporarily. This song was a promise that just like an astronaut leaves for a while and comes back home eventually, he will too come back home and he did fulfil that promise. He came back and the first thing he did is spend time with his members and army. He performed this song live for the 2nd time and you could tell he meant every single word of those lyrics. He was radiant and wore the biggest smile while singing along to army's cheers. Both are spectacular and will leave you endeared with this man. That is a promise😊 Besides it is always an experience to hear them sing live. Yes!! Scott got it right.... he is the astronaut and had to return and leave the girl (ARMY)... but he stayed instead. There are a lot of easter eggs in that MV, Chris Martin is the news reporter, the guitar is one Chris gifted Jin when they did together My Universe, Jin has a tatoo on his neck with ARMY written in braile, the crossword puzzle... among others! PS. The reason the song may have sounded a bit familiar is that Coldplay are on it and Chris Martin’s vocals are pretty unmistakable (he and Jin have a very similar range and sound great together, you can see the whole band love playing this song in the live Argentina version).

Just a little correction, Jin did not just translate, he wrote his own Korean lyrics. The lyrics in English and in Korean have totally different meanings. Chris initially asked Jin to write the first verse in Korean, he loved it that he asked him to do the 2nd verse as well a day before the MV was shot. That's why in the official poster, it says "Co-written by Jin and Coldplay". ☺

Jin left on 12/22/22 for mandatory military service. Together with his friend Cris Martin, they collaborated on a farewell song. In one of his solo songs (MOON) he had already said “I am the moon and the army is my land”. Seeing his repair, he prepares to return to his planet. He says goodbye to his neighbor and friend and goes to meet his ship. Details: Giving the helmet to your friend reveals your care (“stay well”); the girl is about 10 years old, Army age; the bicycle is purple (Army color); the black spaces in the crossword puzzle he did spelled out the word Army in braille. In this friendship, he taught and learned things, especially how to enjoy simple things, experience new emotions; be happier. Standing in front of his ship, he remembers those good times and decides to stay, realizing that his home is now here. Scott's interpretation is spot on. One detail that takes a few watches to notice is that the scenery around the crash site changes between the first scene and when he returns to it. There are new trees around it and vegetation has grown onto it. Also some of the drawings on the wall near the beginning show you that the little girl brought him home and he became part of her family. This is so fun to watch again now that Jin is back 🥺

you should see the live version wtih Coldplay. Chris Martin is a huge fan and friend of the boys. You also get a little insight in Chris Martin's idea about this song if you watch the intro. Live from Buenos Aires. It was broadcasted jsut a few months before Jin left for the military.
I don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but if you look closely, you can see some marks on Jin's neck when he turns his back on the ship. It's "For ARMY" in Braille. The black squares of the crossword puzzle spell out the same thing. Jin uses Braille in this and BTS uses ASL in the MV for Permission to Dance. They don't just talk about inclusivity, they actively engage in it. Also, if you get into TXT, the only other group under the Big Hit label, they have Morse code in their videos.
Our Astronaut Jin is back! Great timing for this reaction! This is one of my favorite Jin song that is so heartfelt. His voice during the chorus just brings tears to my eyes every time. I recommend Epiphany or Awake next.

As many have mentioned, the song was written by Chris Martin, who does backing vocals on the track. Jin wrote the Korean lyrics. BTS collab'd with Coldplay in 2021, on their song, My Universe, which appears on their album Music of the Spheres. BTS performed a gorgeous cover of Coldplay's Fix You, for their acoustic set on MTV Unplugged. Highly recommend watching the mv for both!

He was thinking back to all the things the little girl taught him & vice versa. Chris Martin from Coldplay was the news caster. He joined Coldplay at their concert in Argentina to sing this. Moon is another great song though there isn't a mv, just a live that was during COVID so no fans. Epiphany is a great song too. To me the video represented that the spaceship had crashed and Jin was an alien on that ship. (He acts like he’s not exactly human or familiar with earth things). He finds a home with the little girl and teaches her to ride a bike, etc, and feels good, but his ship is getting repaired and he has to go back home, so he leaves the little girl, giving her his helmet. But once the ship is ready for him, he suddenly thinks of how he feels at home on Earth with the little girl (ARMY) and chooses to stay. Now there is a live of him performing the day after his release. Also, that day he preformed Moon. Suggestions: Epiphany live ( several videos),This preformance is what got my attention initially for Jin. All the members are so amazing OT7. Jin is genuinely one of the kindest, most gentle, most pure hearted people with a voice that can make angels cry out of love, he is my favorite member and I literally counted every day while he was gone for 1.5 years until he returned bc he means so much to me as well as many other people. He has so much love and goodness in his heart so when he releases his first album later this year I will be one of the first to get it for sure!

Jin was just discharged from the Korean Army and one day after he performed it live. He doesn't have a solo album yet. Epiphany is his biggest solo song fom BTS albums. I love Moon. He did an OST called Yours its really good. If you like folk music he covered Autumn Outside the Post Office, I really love it. As others said, Jin is the Astronaut.

Our Astronaut Jin is back! Great timing for this reaction! This is one of my favorite Jin song that is so heartfelt. His voice during the chorus just brings tears to my eyes every time. I recommend Epiphany or Awake next.

It was the one and only time he had performed it until 5 days ago when he performed it, after 18 months of not singing, to ARMY on BTS FESTA celebration the day after he was released from the military... and he KILLED IT! As many have mentioned, the song was written by Chris Martin, who does backing vocals on the track. Jin wrote the Korean lyrics. BTS collab'd with Coldplay in 2021, on their song, My Universe, which appears on their album Music of the Spheres. BTS performed a gorgeous cover of Coldplay's Fix You, for their acoustic set on MTV Unplugged. Highly recommend watching the mv for both!

Scott (I think?! Guy on my left) was correct with his interpretation! Jin was the astronaut. Little girl was ARMY, he released this right as he was about to go into the military. He was thinking back to all the things the little girl taught him & vice versa. Chris Martin from Coldplay was the news caster. He joined Coldplay at their concert in Argentina to sing this.
Moon is another great song though there isn't a mv, just a live that was during COVID so no fans. Epiphany is a great song too. To me the video represented that the spaceship had crashed and Jin was an alien on that ship. (He acts like he’s not exactly human or familiar with earth things). He finds a home with the little girl and teaches her to ride a bike, etc, and feels good, but his ship is getting repaired and he has to go back home, so he leaves the little girl, giving her his helmet. But once the ship is ready for him, he suddenly thinks of how he feels at home on Earth with the little girl (ARMY) and chooses to stay. That’s why on the crossword puzzle you see words like Family, Home, etc…

you should watch the live at Cold play concert, be sure to get the one Chris Martin announces Jin and tells brief story of how the song came about and his relationship with BTS. Now there is a live of him performing the day after his release. Also, that day he preformed Moon.

This is not his first solo. I don't understand why the West can't grasp the idea that all of BTS does solos within BTS, does outside mixed tapes, collaborations all under BTS!
Jin was just discharged from the Korean Army and one day after he performed it live. He doesn't have a solo album yet. Epiphany is his biggest solo song fom BTS albums. I love Moon. He did an OST called Yours its really good. If you like folk music he covered Autumn Outside the Post Office, I really love it.
