- Lol look at this tape I found.
I had a really fun time editing in the style of an early 2000s video game commercial. I also had a blast making this romhack (even when I'd spend hours trying to get one single thing to work) Now you know one of the big projects that I've been working on.

Pac-Man World 2: Plus! is a romhack that I've been working on for the better part of a year that adds many new things, beta enemies, beta ideas, fixed graphics in some areas, fixed functionality in other areas, and other such oddities. I made it thinking about what a "definitive" Pac-man world 2 release would actually look like. No download link just yet, but you'll be able to play world 2 plus very soon I just need to add literally one more thing.
Misc facts:
1. So far it's only on gamecube. I might make a ps2 version at some point but idk
2. I made this romhack especially with console compatibility in-mind, so you'll be able to play it on your (homebrewed or sd loader) gamecube or wii with no issues or crashes (yes it works on dolphin)
3: Unfortunately electric frontier isn't in. It was one of my most wanted things but I just couldn't get it to work properly
4: This is not pretend world 2 plus is indeed very real
5: I'll probably make updated versions in the future (especially if big new features are discovered)
6: World 2 plus actually use it's own save files

DUDE YOU KNOW WHAT WOULD BE AWESOME!!!! If you are able to add Pinky Blinky Inky and Clyde to the final boss final boss fight against spooky, not where their in the ghost mechs but they’re roaming around the golden fruit tree, it’d be a really nice touch, increasing the difficulty of the match, and kinda paying an homage to the toc man fight where it was just blinky surrounding the map!! That’d be super awesome if that’s possible!!! And once Pac-Man goes near them they’d start to pursue him!!
Cool idea! I actually did put Pinky, Blinky, Inky, and Clyde in the levels at a few points like 0:33

I've fantasized what I'd do if I could remake Pac Man World 2, and a hard mode for each level was one idea. You might have better ideas for it than I would, heh.

This is really well made. Did you actually put this on a tape, or is that a filter?, cause if it is it's a very good convincing one. It's not often you find a VHS filter that's actually convincing

Also, if you implement an easy, normal and hard mode, you should call easy as "Japanese mode", normal as "Players Choice mode", and hard as "Original". XD

Also the world map?
I ask because I didn't see any level layout changes and frankly I know it's not the point of the hack but I ask because you have already found a way into putting new/unused entities in the level layouts themselves so I am wondering if entity placement and level layout are connected all together in a way that means you have the ability to move around segments of the levels themselves that are bunched together.
I only ask this as it's well known some levels share parts of layouts with one another that are not just the interactable entities like the falling stone pillars but instead entire chunks of the levels themselves such as the trees and I wonder if segments of levels could be edited and moved around or if the level files have already had each part of them merged into one large singular thing for each level.
Either way I don't imagine editing levels to be the most easy thing to do as it would require loading zones to tell the game when to load in and load out sections...
The idea of editing level geometry isn't impossible it's just that we don't have the tools to make entirely new levels or to move level geometry yet (and unfortunately we probably never will)
@@Crazy_Otto understandable, I expected that answer as it's not common to find level editing capability in games and I don't imagine it's much worth the time to try as level layouts tend to be a nightmare to get at.
I thought it was some old pacman world 2 commercial that was prerelease. Pretty faithful to the commercial style done in the 2000s and works well as a Namco commercial at that time as well :)
Good work, I am kinda looking forward to it but I do have one criticism, and it is about the music and pretty bland presentation. The presentation is just kinda nothing and just shows the bare minimum and just shows what is shows in a beta e3 trailer for a game, which is fine, but i think there could of been more to make it more worth while. The music is good and all, it's another doing of the same Pac-Man motif used and repeated for like most of this guy's lifetime. The problem is, it is just that and only that again and again, which can be repetitive as much as the invincibility theme from Sonic 3 is being used for the super sonic theme.
But it is still fine enough for the whole trailer stuff.
Anyways thoughts on the whole rom hack package, I hope this version would make it more forgiving to complete the game than the original while still being challenging to do so without ripping your hair off. :)
I hope the game would be more better with its certain flaws it had regarding the gameplay section and controls with the camer along with the tokens and fruits not being placed in hard places and you don't have to do it in one go to get all of them, which makes it more doable to the player.
It would be more cool if it also has separate little extra stuff with it too. :)
Make sure to make an Atari Lynx port as well as a Nokia N Gage port as well. :)
Hahaha, just kidding but it would be crazy just slapping this into hardware that wasn't expected to run this game on, like how Doom was being played on a old calculator. :)
But good luck and hope it be good, and maybe even be a great definite version of Pac-Man World 2. :)
