I don't mind futzy bits as long as they have an intended home, not floating in space like various insects and spider lady legs.

I questioned the need for this guy until I saw the side-by-side with ROTF Bludgeon and man, I never realized how Movie-aesthetic Movie-Bludgeon was before that. A shame they never used that Bludgeon design for anything other than that figure.
Phantom9252 I do believe they used the mold for a megatron figure. He looked real strange with thr skeleton arms if i remember it right.
They repainted him as a banzaitron figure, which If you've ever seen banzaitron... the old is pretty fitting for him
They used him three times after Bludgeon, as Banzaitron, G2 tank Megatron and Overlord.
I need this EXTRA THICC robo Samurai for sure. It's a must have at TFcon Toronto this year when I go.

I find it interesting that they changed the colour of his fingers to black, before they were grey in promo shots.

oh wow. Bludgeon was one of the figures I missed an always regretted. This might be a very easy buy depending on price. That first run extra head is stellar too. I haven't been able to make a solid decision on 3rd party stuff though, I like playing around with my transformers too much and these don't seem to be built to that more often than not.
I'll totally buy a second Giam themed one though.

This figure seams amazing, even if only to have as a shelf pozer, the play up of the samuria aspects is fantastic

So mine just arrived, and I’m honestly loving him! A few problems yes, I took the backpack off and it won’t go back on and if the treads on his legs fall off it is pretty aids to put back on and paint chipping on the feet. Aside from that he feels very solid. Haven’t transformed him yet
As a bludgeon fan I would say this figure is a must have, plastic seems like good quality, and is very fun to play around with
Looks great, I just wish he was voyager sized. I loved the ROTF bludgeon mold. Loved the gaim joke too. That's would be cool.

Wow, the timing on this was amazing! I was just considering my options in regards to this toy yesterday, and thought to myself "I wish I had a Vangelus review to help me make up my mind." And now I know that, as much as I appreciate how this toy looks, it's not for me, so you have my thanks.
But, I have to say this... "Susan Oh"? Really? Were you deliberately saying it wrong to troll pedants like me? ^^;
This thing looks great. It looks masterpiece to me. Looks like a bay movie has given us something good.
I am planning to get this guy so that MP Movie Ironhide can have a tank rival. As a sort of mix between Movie '07 Game & Cyber Missions. So his MP sizing and Movie Love Letter design works for the purpose I intend to get him for.
That's nice and all, Vangelus, and I do dig the tank samurai BUT WHEN'S MEGABOY
on my toy, I found the flip out connection was too thick to even slid into the hand's slot, so I had to sand the gap in the pegs down until it slid on easily. Yeah, I know. I ruined the value of the toy but DNA really should work on that sword peg connector.
With the Movie MPs being made I'm strongly considering having Susanoo to act as my Movie Bludgeon which is ironic that since ROTF Bludgeon was used as a neo classics Bludgeon it comes in full circle with an MP Neo Classics Bludgeon is being used as a movie Bludgeon. lol
so much stuff is coming out and I can't afford any of it!

Starting to get annoyed by 3P sword wielding transformers who cant point their swords forward.
Without that extra wrist articulation their slashing poses look awkward
How does he scale to War Dog, whose tank mode unfurled out to be much bigger than MP cars?

I'm a huge bludgeon fan. I want to want this. But i hated that ROTF figure. And when i saw the grey proto's of this guys face i though i'd be way into them. But...i'm not sure i like them as much when painted. Is this the only 3P bludgeon right now?
Finally a new Transformers Review.
I do like it, but I can't help but wonder if that's just because it reminds me so much of ROTF Bludgeon. And I feel like that toy pulled off the "former Pretender" look a bit better; when you look at that toy, it looks like G1 Bludgeon wearing a tank as armor. This guy integrates the tank parts better, but he doesn't look... well, skeletal anymore.
The tread work is genius, though.
Mister Bad Guy Well, the only skeletal thing about the Pretender shell was the face, wich this guy replicates.

Someone should do a ROTF Arcee love letter. Maybe a tad more feminine, and a bit more like a mermaid on wheels. Nothing against the original, I just feel that a lot more can be done with it.

I don't know how I feel about this one. I kind of liked the more skeletal design on the original figure, which was mostly the bony, white upper arms and structures in the legs, and it's been de-emphasized here, I feel. There's also less orange in robot mode which kind of throws off the color balance in my opinion. I enjoyed the original's mostly-orange color scheme that was accented by green parts rather than a figure that's just half green and half orange. Honestly I'd probably say the original figure and the upgrade kit for him was more worth a purchase than this thing. This figure really just seems unnecessary.
ManOutofTime913 I have the ROTF Bludgeon with the headrobots kit and gave to agree. while Susanoo scales with the MP line, he just doesn't have the aesthetic that the original toy did. kinda why I like my version so much.
Wouldn't they just repaint him into Banzaitron like Hasbro did to their original?

Late reply, but yes. Its called Arashi, and im leaning towards that version. They seem to fix some of the issues on the ahoulders and he has the IDW wire face that Bludgeon had for whatever reason.

Got mine in yesterday. This thing sucks. Panels falling off left and right, can't even transform cleanly into tank mode without either panels refusing to line up or the treads not reaching. Either the instructions aren't clear or I'm missing something critical that just lines it all up - "jiggly figure" does mean he's poorly made, sorry folks. The fact almost all the panels aren't held in place with pins but instead little 1mm nubs doesn't help at all for keeping his crap together. A solidly-mediocre robot mode that will explode at various spots in fiddling with him (just wait until you get the pose you want before putting him back together). Tank mode is trash given it's nearly impossible to get it cleanly to happen. Even at 13:30 you can see how the left-front of the tank is tilted inwards, and the flap that angles down to "peg" into his forearm-armor in the middle isn't even flush.
Praetor Kamahl Sounds like you got a dud.
Based on the mostly-negative feedback I've seen on this, I got a little bit of a dud, but not much of an outlier compared to most. Hell, some people have worse turrets, shoulder assemblies falling apart, or straight up missing armor panels / turrets altogether. There are also some inherent issues with the design that are irredeemable, such as the hip joints scraping the plastic off the treads, or the fact he can't even move his legs backwards without unlocking the ass-flap (which also requires you remove the turret).
It is bad.
There are no left handed samurai if you were left handed you would not be able to become a samurai
