Don't say your android doesn't do that also, every android does. I tried out my girlfriend's iPhone 5S, and I'm sold instantly. Apple has converted an android fan. Why? The solid build of the iPhone, the high quality materials, it's 10x faster, more process power, and a faster, better processing camera. In addition, it also looks more professional, and simple. Sorry but, sad to say, I've been with android since day one but, F**k Android. I'm Apple all the way from now on. Best quality you can get. Wow, just texting this paragraph is annoying, the phone can't even keep up with the letters I type. Lag. Two second delay, nice. Lmao.

This is a pretty light drop test. I remember when the Galaxy S3 came out and people were comparing drop tests to the 4 or 4S that was out at the same time, they were dropping it from ear level or about six feet. That both of these phones completely shattered from barely three feet is slightly worrying.
Holy shit, you're telling me that if you drop electronics made of glass they can BREAK?! I'm very disappointed that Apple didn't make an impossibly invincible product!
Cmon guys, every smartphone screen shatters when dropped. It's not just iPhone. People just need to take better care of their phones. They forget they are holding a $600 device, and then they wonder why their screen is cracked.
This is why I hate these drop tests. If you're trying to break it, it's going to break. If you're also dropping the exact same phone several times, it's not going to hold up well.
Enriko Menzies He wasn't trying to break it. It was a test to see if it would. Most people drop there phone several times while some never drop them. Why are you trying to poke holes in this video. This is pretty much a standard drop test for youtube.
drink15 I'm of the camp that drop tests are invariably useless. The average person will not drop their phone three to four times in a row on the same uneven, rock-hard surface - nor will the phone always break in that same situation. The entire Internet is filled with anecdotal references of people who either did or didn't wind up with a shattered screen after a catastrophic drop. Everything has a 100% failure rate. It's just a matter of which drop is going to be the one that kills it, and that's a matter of the right elements coming together and your own bad luck. These RUclips drop tests are nothing more than expensive flame bait for views. Everybody wants to see the phone they hate break to pieces.
Enriko Menzies Whether or not its in a row or months apart, the results will be the same. As for testing environment and luck. Its all random. you can't test random, but you can test worst and most likely case scenario. This would be a uneven rock-hard surface. This isn't a definitive test, its meant to give insight on how the new phone handles drops. These test do in fact help people select the next phone. If you get a few 100 videos showing that a phone shatters when dropped at 2 feet on a carpet, people will not buy it. Company pay attention to that. So far this phone seems just as durable as the last gen or any other high-end phone.
mohamed moheb Telling someone to "go to hell" just because he prefers one type of phone/OS over another? HA, if anything, it shows what type of person YOU are
I don't even understand you people, it's like you own Samsung. There is a variety of devices that you can get (Thank god for that), choose the one you like and respect the others choices.
Tristan Begin My iPhone vibrated and slid off my 3 foot tall chest of drawers and smashed upon impact with my solid wood floor, despite the fact that it had one of Apple's cases protecting it... These phones are designed to break. It's their way of profiting after a sale.
Looks like the iPhone 6 also doesn't like to be dropped. It's going to shatter the screen unless it falls exactly on the back. Now it seems soft *and* brittle. I remember Apple having better build quality. Perhaps I just imagined. Needs a good screen protector. Best should be a hard case that can absorb a lot of shock.
Actually the iPhone 6+ is what gets damaged unless it's exactly on the back. The regular 6 was fine with both back and side drops, but broke on the front. The 6+, however, broke on the side and front, was only okay with the back. Personally I'm gonna get the 6 because of the following reasons: 1) It's not so unnecessarily big like the 6+ 2) As shown in this video, it's stronger than the 6+ and with a good case, it won't get damaged at all when dropped at the front 3) It's less expensive
I just don't understand why ANYONE would buy a $700 phone and not put a $30 case on it to protect it. It just doesn't make any sense to me. It's a phone, does it matter if it is "sleek and looks good"? You check your Facebook and email on it, so is your mind that narrow that you have to "show it off"? It's not a freaking Lamborghini. It's a phone. Put a case on it and this won't happen.
IPhones users are gullible. Apple MADE these phones super thin just so when someone drops the phone and it breaks they have to buy another Iphone. That is MARKETING at its finest.
***** OR, iPhones are slim to weigh less. Nobody wants to be carrying around a phablet that weighs more than a pound! that's why they have an iPad Air too.>.>
***** Had my HTC one for 2 almost 3 years, never bought a case for it, dropped it multiple times, and a few times in water. It never cracked, nor have any scratches on the screen. Just a few scratches on the corners of the phone.
Hmm...interesting. In Android Authority's drop test neither screen broke. I'm wondering how come this was different? The device you were using seem to add some momentum when you moved it down towards the ground, but this doesn't explain the 6 Plus screen damage. Anyone know what happened?
Misskarleen Vidz its a drop test. Million ways a phone could hit the ground. It's a screen if it hits ground just right the glass will break. That's for every phone
Adam Mckeithan what I posted wasn't bullshit, it's a fact. Metal/aluminium will bend. I don't have to enable replies if I know that I'll get attacked for stating that.
I have a phone I got from HP and dropped it one night at a club while taking it out to be searched before entering the club. The phone dropped on the small table then bounced onto the ground several times from some distance and it was still just fine, except for a few scratches. The glass did not break on it. I thought that the unlocked phone was done for, but was so happy it survived that fall.
The case was stronger, it barely got scratched. And also, the sapphire glass is only on the watches and the camera lens, the rest is just the same glass they've always used.
+Myah Nash yeah well sorry to break it to you but she's not you 😕 and clearly wouldn't want to be because your rude . And so what I have a iPhone many people do ! Why point that out ? So you can make her feel like she's poor and your not ? Ugh
I have an iPhone. I've dropped it at least 100+ times and out of a 2 storey building onto concrete and it didn't crack or even scratch with no case or plastic on the screen. Really depends on the angle your drop it at.
Guys I realized the financial situation here: he's only out about $100-$150 because he surely bought AppleCare Plus which allows 2 replacements for ANY reason at a cost of $50-$75/ea (not sure what the price is currently). So as long as his RUclips ads make more than that, it was a profitable investment for him - and great scientific data for the rest of us. Truly a great video - no BS, just exactly what the title claims and done scientifically and in 3 different orientations. Well done! You earned a subscriber. I especially like you didn't beg for "like favorite and subscribe"
I got myself an iPhone 6 plus for chrismas in 2014 & I`m so happy with my iPhone, its just an amazing device, ofcoz there are other good phones out there but based on my experience I wouldn`t trade it for another phone right now, everything is just so easy to use and simple to understand, if you`re contemplating on getting one well contemplate no more & go buy it, you won`t be disappointed
Had the same phone for almost 4 years dropped it countless times, Samsung Galaxy S2, still works great. I work in a warehouse so it's been smacked around a lot also. Screen has never cracked and I've never had to replace anything on it. Every friend I have that has an iPhone the screen is cracked or shattered, every other phone has no problems.
Am i the only one who NEVER dropped an iPhone, EVER? Like in 5 years, not once. Or any other phone for that matter. Do you drop your laptop? phones are the new laptops, lol.
Honestly, it all depends on where it hits. If all the force is on one point, it has a greater chance of taking damage than if it hits in multiple points. Plus, who doesn't use a case on their phone? You don't need an otter box to keep it from cracking. Just a case.
So true, bought a hard case for my ipod from the Apple store thinking it would be enough but needless to say a month later screen is a mess (looks like the iPhone6 after the facedown drop). Decided to fix it and bought a cute panda silicon cute simply for the looks and it's been protecting my ipod so much better than the apple stores case and so much cheaper too!
Yeah, I've an iPhone 5 and I have bashed the screen against counter corners on accident, chucked it at the floor with no case on accident, and dropped it in several different ways with the case on, and not once has it cracked or scratched.
Even though the video content is great, and I love your work David, please don't make out a drop test is strictly for educational purposes. Durability of smartphones can't be measured like this. *Let's be honest. 99% of people watching this are here for one reason only; to see the newest iPhone get smashed.* I hate drop tests I'm afraid. Like I said David, nothing personal! Love your stuff.
I totally agree. I honestly believe for those who want to know if their phones are durable, please protect your phone... Who would want to drop their phone on purpose...
Rodrick Davis Drop tests don't provide any value on whether a phone is durable or not. If a drop test was done in a controlled environment, using controls and many test samples then I'd agree they're worthwhile. Since they're not, there's too many external variables to make them a good test case. //nerd sciencey rant
I have an iPad mini. I also have a Samsung phone. So what's the difference? They both can download apps. They both can take pictures, they both can record videos. Why is everyone fighting about which brand is better? If you don't want it to crack easily, just buy a case. I bought a case for my iPad mini. I dropped it face flat and it survived. My brother through my Samsung phone across the room. Guess what? It had a case and it survived 😄😂
I wonder if these phone dropper youtubers know any basic physics. The Iphone 6 plus cracked that 1st time because it hit on the corner where there is low surface area and because the 6+ is heavier so it would fall harder Aka have more force. All that force over a small surface area would create alot of pressure. that pressure in turn would break the glass and open it up. I'm not a fanboy. Just saying that alot of people dont know why 6+ cracked and not the 6 and could use some basic physics to see why.
jgvbadv drop a rock and a small object (no feathers!!) at the same time and you'll see that they will fall with the same speed. It's called tge World fucking famous Newton Law

Yea i see many videos on internet / youtube / etc. People shared that their Phones are actually bending over at their front pocket. Like,... is iPhone 6/6 Plus coming with the cheapest case material ever? :(
You know, I was actually really surprised to hear something like that. I know people have had their doubts because of their prior iPhones or OS but I actually expected the iPhone 6 to be a change. For what they advertised, it got me interested not going to lie. Although I'm an Android user, I'm open to seeing what Apple has to offer and try out the iOS 8 myself. The fact they added features that were somewhat of customization seemed like maybe it this is going to really help Apple. So far, I've been hearing a lot of bad reviews about the iOS 8 and the iPhone 6. It's a shame because I really thought the iPhone 6 had a chance.
Dan Ogle yea agree...tbh i use both (Apple / Android (Samsung etc.)). I thought before "damn iPhone 6 is out, i am going to invest my money for that gadget...because clearly i need a new phone facility". But after i see a lot of reviews on internet, i think i need to think more about that. I t doesn't mean iPhone 6/6 plus are clearly bad, but they are just not same as my expectation before. iPhone 6/6 plus features are awesome, but people are also need durable phone. High quality phone case material is in need , so everything inside of the phone can be protected. I would be sad if i accidentally dropped my phone and my phone easily cracked that way... I just hope Apple makes some changes... so it is going worth people's money :)
What the fuck is wrong with everyone? Why do you care what phones other people use? WHY DO YOU CARE???? I'm so tired of all the apple/samsung/nokia/android bashing. Just stop fucking arguing about phones already what the fuck!?
Jayvaughn Claude At the end of the day how does it even matter? You just waste your time on useless shit like facebook etc. anyways. You don't need a good fucking phone to do that, or what do you do with your phone, play games that require huge powers from your phone? In that case spending 700 dollars on a fucking phone to play angry birds on max graphics you could just buy a good PC. What the actual fuck is your point?
makethekill111 and did NOT believe in God. I wonder what he is saying now? HUUUMMMM in addition he COPIED EVERYTHING from others and pretended it was all his idea. Including the actual design of iPOOP, which he copied from SONY. Just search,""""apple copied Sony""" and click on the images, and take a look at Sony's device they had YEARS before 2007 iPOOP came out. just like now, they copied from 2010/2011 technology we none apple user used back few years ago. apple in MANY occasions made fun of the NFC(invented by NOKIA, SONY, PHILIPS) and Big screen phns and suddenly is the best thing ever and pretending its all was their idea. So many iSHEEP is unbelievable.
the reason i like iphone is because its easy to use. i mean go to setting and you can basically find you're way unlike other PHONES. People say it bend, it only bend if you apply a to of force to it. Also other phone bend to, its just that iphone 6 is easier to bend. IPhone still rules, Other phone sucks. 7k people too poor to buy an iphone 6
Spyder2k2 Same with my iPhone 5... had it since christmas 2013 and no cracks or scratches, only one little scratch on the Apple logo on the back of the phone which is probably less than 1mm long.
My iPhone 6 is over 3 years old now, never protected with a case or screen protector - I drop it on average 1-2 times a week. Still going strong, lots of scratches and scuff marks, screen slightly lifting on the top left, one small crack on the bottom right of the glass. I reckon it has another 6 months of dropping it left before the screen spiderwebs. This is one tough phone!
@Someone6070 The Sapphire glass is actually supposed to be shatter proof through all levels of well, destruction until it's run over by a car. I saw a video on it earlier. Lol.
Gorilla glass, have you idiots heard of it? Also, I have dropped my 2 year old Xperia Mini Pro at least a hundred times, sometimes on concrete, screen down. Not a scratch on it's screen. That phone cost me like 200$, what does that apple shit cost again? Apple has several hundred usd profit on every iPhone sold, yet they can't put a durable screen on it. Just how cheap is that?
Its called plastic screens, The cheaper phones never had a cracked screen once i got a 500-600 dollar phone those screens brake easily. But a 100-300 phone all use a plastic screen and they are thick plastic too. I still have a phone I got for like 89.00 and I banged that everywhere because its a piece of shit and it still works, no cracks, nothing. But if you get a phone starting from 400-500 and up you got to be careful with it. Its common sense.
James Ramirez i have a 200€ phone and its all glass man nowadays plastics used in phones like my dads, he has a qechua one, you can drop it from 2meters, you can place it under water and stuff.
Michael Nelson Ya cheap glass housed within a container that doesn't displace any force does. Which is demonstrated right here. That was a 4 foot drop, the phone might as well be a pane of glass, theres no point in having the metal frame.
On it's face? Sure without a screen protector that's likely. I care more about what happened with the iPhone landing on it's side. I've dropped my phone on it's side plenty. That level of damage is the true tell of it's quality. All phones break to some degree, though some are less durable than others and we have truly found one here.
Michael Nelson Right, some easier than other. I have watched others of android and apple. The truth is clear. Maybe not to your ignorant mind but to most others.
Michael Nelson I have dropped my Android several times and the display has not gotten damaged yet even when landing on the face. You fail at attacking Androids.
Da Caveman The majority of smart phones have some iteration of gorilla glass or a similar technology on them. I can't think of a plastic phone screen on the market on sale in 2014, in fact.
not actually, I torture my LG LU for almost 4 years I even threw it just for the sake of seeing how much is it's tolerance level and all that happened was that the removable back case flew off and I just put it back on w/ the battery and everything was fine.
They abandoned making it all out of Saphire glass when they realized you can't cheat physics. By making it harder they also made it more brittle. This works great on areas like the home button and camera lens where they have shock mounting but a screen where its metal to glass is just asking for trouble.
The new iPhone screen is made of re-fried beans bleached clear and put under literally tons of pressure. That's why they are so strong but still recyclable.
I droped my s4 like a hundred times and a lot harder than in this video in all the angles that are possible and it didn't break fucking garbage iphon premium my ass it costs a fortune to buy and its easy to break trying to rip people off
Don't people use glass screen protectors anymore? I have one on my phone right now and it's only an iPhone 4. Don't people use normal screen protectors either? Why complain about it being scratched when you don't have a protector for it?
***** I tried both iPhones and Android. I have a question for you Wolf: You should know by now that sheep is sheep, no matter if its Android sheep or iOS sheep, the only difference is the thick fence between them!
I'm glad I didn't waste money on these iPhones. I will wait until next year for the 6S with Sapphire screen. 3S(peed), 4S(iri), 5S(ecurity), 6S(apphire)
lol.. i hope u dont own a TV didnt buy a TV too cuz if u drop that tV, it will break.. haha. hope u dont have anything with glass cuz If u drop it it will break... :)
Iphone 6 looks like my galaxy s5, we got a bigger screen 2 years ago cmon apple keep up, gs5 camera is still better despite the iphone 6 being the newer phone, I have dropped my s5 dace firts on cement, on accident of course, not even a scratch. Team galaxy. :)
Henry Oak thats the stupidest thing I ever heard haha what kind of comparison is that? a penis and a cell phone? Haha im not responding no more sooo bye aha
Henry Oak thats the stupidest thing I ever heard haha what kind of comparison is that? a penis and a cell phone? Haha im not responding no more sooo bye aha
Dropping your device doesn't mean that your device is super . My old nokia n95 has dropped accidentaly for many many times on the streets, classrooms, workplace and at home ,but it still greatly working without any significant damage of the screen or case
How can such a costly phone break from such low height. I think somethings wrong with this video. Phones r bound to fall. There is no point in using heavy cases which hides its design. I use phone 6. Will it break if it falls from waist height?
Because it's apple and they couldn't care less about the durability of their products if people buy the products and pay them money to get them repaired because they break so often. Nothing is wrong with the video, but something is wrong with your perception if you think that apple truly wants to give you a good product in exchange for your $$$

Dude are you the first one to get iphone in Sydney
looks like it's going to hold up waaaay better without chamfered edges (in terms of everyday wear)
Still needs tempered glass protection though.
More damages than on plastic phones.
Great drop test demonstration. Thanks for sharing with us :-)

This made me feel a lot better about holding my iPhone 6
right, now its just a constant fear of dropping it
I put a case on it immediately. The aluminum is so slippery.
I took the screen protector off and I’m happy about this . I don’t have to worry .
Scott Hastings how it’s literally garbage
Such a different time 😮
Drops iPhone 6 = broken
Drops Nokia 3310 = leaves crater in ground
I'm an apple fan but that was hilarious 😂
Lmao me too 😂

Who’s here May 2019 or later?
The Variety Kid Only cuz I just bought a backup phone for when my parents take my shit
I'm here May 2020
May 2020
June 2020 lol

My iPhone 6 is still the best phone in the world
Your comment made me laugh, the iPhone 6 may be a good phone but it definitely isn't the best!
Haha haha you fail at life. Enjoy your 2012 specs and features
Shawn Sandhu and I prefer to pay 100 dollar for a phone to call/test and maybe twitter/facebook and pictures instead of 600+ ...
Did you get the 6 or the 6 plus? I'm about to order and not sure which.
Shawn Sandhu so why are you buying an iphone 6 for the same price with other smartphones which have better specs
As an android user, this video made me smile. Thank you for destroying these! It's greatly appreciated :D
Aye aye :D
Go to hell
mohamed moheb Telling someone to "go to hell" just because he prefers one type of phone/OS over another? HA, if anything, it shows what type of person YOU are
I don't even understand you people, it's like you own Samsung.
There is a variety of devices that you can get (Thank god for that), choose the one you like and respect the others choices.
mohamed moheb
oh, so there you go. A typical moron apple user who thinks he is sitting on top of the world...
*Casually puts case back on
Tristan Begin My iPhone vibrated and slid off my 3 foot tall chest of drawers and smashed upon impact with my solid wood floor, despite the fact that it had one of Apple's cases protecting it... These phones are designed to break. It's their way of profiting after a sale.
I cringed watching these phones crack
Same😰
Capt Frostii ugh I felt it drop
Mee to I can't imagine dropping my iPhone 6+
Hannah Wolpe may i recommend techrax?
Hannah Wolpe Same
The revenue alone for this the video after one day and one million views is almost enough to buy those two phones; this video pays for itself.
Walter Seaman Most likely they bought it with insurance so all they have to do is return it and get a new one
What happened to the "sapphire glass" they were adding? Mhmmm
Sapphire crystal is scratch resistant not shatter resistant in fact it's very brittle
Sapphire glass was never set in stone. It was a mere rumor. Sapphire glass was used for the iWatch.
Do research.
It doesnt matter what you name it..... if it ends with " Glass" .... It ll break.
men he is using clones of the iPhone
Apple never even said they were going to use sapphire for the phone screen. That was all rumors.
Most of the users will have a big ass case on their iPhone 6.
Put it in a foam brick.
That is just physics. If your glass is scratch resistant it will be brittle. if it is drop save then it will be easier to scratch.
Actually the iPhone 6+ is what gets damaged unless it's exactly on the back. The regular 6 was fine with both back and side drops, but broke on the front. The 6+, however, broke on the side and front, was only okay with the back. Personally I'm gonna get the 6 because of the following reasons:
1) It's not so unnecessarily big like the 6+
2) As shown in this video, it's stronger than the 6+ and with a good case, it won't get damaged at all when dropped at the front
3) It's less expensive
Gimpzomg
not true you can always put second layer of some material to protect it , smartphones are just made to break.
must be fun having all that money
haha nice say
They made thin phones because people don't want to carry around bricks.
You know whats marketing lvl max? Making phone with specsk of cheap phone and selling it in price of best phones avaliable.
AkaRyupl they don't put all the specs. In the 6. They will slowly add on to the newest iphones.
What else did you expect when you drop a phone?
my old nokia's screen doesn't break at twice that height..
amgjens the ground would rather break when you drop a nokia.
My android still hasn't cracked and I've dropped it more than 50x
Tamicha Lomas mine either. (samsung S4 mini)
My phone hasnt broken even tho ive dropped it on its face like a million times
Why did I get this recommended 7 years later?
Hmm...interesting. In Android Authority's drop test neither screen broke. I'm wondering how come this was different? The device you were using seem to add some momentum when you moved it down towards the ground, but this doesn't explain the 6 Plus screen damage. Anyone know what happened?
Think of this... an android is heavier and can take a lot more than the thin fragile iphone
Misskarleen Vidz its a drop test. Million ways a phone could hit the ground. It's a screen if it hits ground just right the glass will break. That's for every phone
Adam Mckeithan but... an iphone cracks in more way than an android. Mainly because the iphone is made of glass :P
"special glass" they said.
"Stronger case" they said
Hahhaha
The case was stronger, it barely got scratched. And also, the sapphire glass is only on the watches and the camera lens, the rest is just the same glass they've always used.
benw999
I'm gonna give up on what i wanted to reply....But i will say they promised something better...
MrDeemsMusic
I'm not even going to read all this by guessing that youre some "big apple fan" and no matter what i say youll reject me....soooo
yeah i was thinking the same thing they said "more durable" and blah blah other stuff so i wanted to see if that was true
Amazes me how much better modern iPhones do on these drop tests!
Nooooo!!!!! Just give them to me instead of breaking them. I promise I will take good care of them! ^_^
Are you like poor as shit or something? Im 13 and im on my iphone 6+
I said I'd take care of them. I'm not poor but I was joking. 13 and no sense of humor? How sad.
:)
+Myah Nash yeah well sorry to break it to you but she's not you 😕 and clearly wouldn't want to be because your rude . And so what I have a iPhone many people do ! Why point that out ? So you can make her feel like she's poor and your not ? Ugh
+DearKareenn your not the only 13 year old with a iPhone 😂
"hey man im bored"
"yeah me too"
"how about we go buy $1600 worth of technology and then launch it at the fucking ground"
"goddamn you're a genius"
I have an iPhone. I've dropped it at least 100+ times and out of a 2 storey building onto concrete and it didn't crack or even scratch with no case or plastic on the screen. Really depends on the angle your drop it at.
yoooouuuuu''''''''''rrrrreeeeeeeeee a liar
Yeah you can stop .....
LOL I think you are drugged!
"Concrete"? more like a marshmallow
same here on my ex iPhone4
Crazy how much the iphones quality has improved
I've dropped my iPhone 6 Plus several time in concrete and only got chips in paint and dents
My screen popped out a bit
Jim Bean I just updated mine to iOS 11.2 without an issue haha
Jim Bean I’ve updated to 11.2 (: I believe they will cancel this phone on iOS 12

Jim Bean even 5s updates to 11 ios
I once did this with my Nokia, now there's a huge crack that runs along side the sidewalk.

Nothing scientific about that test
David N Scientific method: ask a question, create a hypothesis, test, analyze, then conclusion Science.
Oscar Morales Wow you must have passed middle school with that definition
David N no but it is helping me only take 4 years instead of 5 years of school for my major which is Pharmacological Chemistry over at UCSD
"Scientific data". You drop any phone on it's side, without a case, it will likely break. Everyone already knew that.
I can't think of any phone that can take a face drop.
Ikr
Tons of phones can, obviously not the iphone cuz they are made to break so Apple makes more money.
theorangeiscool1
I have seen Samsung, HTC, LG, Motorola, and a couple others dropped on face and they almost always crack. I sold phones for years.
Had the same phone for almost 4 years dropped it countless times, Samsung Galaxy S2, still works great. I work in a warehouse so it's been smacked around a lot also. Screen has never cracked and I've never had to replace anything on it. Every friend I have that has an iPhone the screen is cracked or shattered, every other phone has no problems.
theorangeiscool1
That doesn't prove that other phones are guaranteed to handle a face drop.
Am i the only one who NEVER dropped an iPhone, EVER? Like in 5 years, not once. Or any other phone for that matter. Do you drop your laptop? phones are the new laptops, lol.
i've dropped my laptops(plenty of times)... I've even shattered my laptop screen doing so xD
emmaxe22 damn. must be me being very careful with my expensive stuff, then.
well done do you want a medal
Yes it happens, specially when losing grip of phone maybe cold weather or a slip up from humans... we are a bunch of patricks from time to time...
Harry Sibbons nah, just wondering.
Yeah, I've an iPhone 5 and I have bashed the screen against counter corners on accident, chucked it at the floor with no case on accident, and dropped it in several different ways with the case on, and not once has it cracked or scratched.
so you are one of the clever guys?!
Etan is right
I dont
Who is watching in 2021 because you uploaded this 6years ago and drop testing a iPhone 6 lol
The thing that really baffles me is that people actually get ANGRY when someone likes a different phone...
I hate when people waste iPhones like this! Kids in Africa could have eaten them :(
Wait what???
Wtf
u need a doctor bro..
rip, tiny starving african child who didn't get nourishment from asian manufactures aluminum and circuitry. #sicksadworld
There is something called INSURANCE and maybe he has a job that pays well...?
Notice he's filming the slo-mo with another iPhone 6, GG!
he is rich enough
I saw my life flash before my eyes watching this.😂
Even though the video content is great, and I love your work David, please don't make out a drop test is strictly for educational purposes. Durability of smartphones can't be measured like this.
*Let's be honest. 99% of people watching this are here for one reason only; to see the newest iPhone get smashed.*
I hate drop tests I'm afraid. Like I said David, nothing personal! Love your stuff.
I'm with you Tom. It's metal and glass. What do think going to happen if you drop it..
and who the fuck are you ? I came here to actually see if it would crack when dropped.
I totally agree. I honestly believe for those who want to know if their phones are durable, please protect your phone... Who would want to drop their phone on purpose...
Rodrick Davis agree. i was interested to see whether it cracks
Rodrick Davis Drop tests don't provide any value on whether a phone is durable or not. If a drop test was done in a controlled environment, using controls and many test samples then I'd agree they're worthwhile. Since they're not, there's too many external variables to make them a good test case.
//nerd sciencey rant
Would have bodyslammed us brother if this happened
I wonder if these phone dropper youtubers know any basic physics. The Iphone 6 plus cracked that 1st time because it hit on the corner where there is low surface area and because the 6+ is heavier so it would fall harder Aka have more force. All that force over a small surface area would create alot of pressure. that pressure in turn would break the glass and open it up. I'm not a fanboy. Just saying that alot of people dont know why 6+ cracked and not the 6 and could use some basic physics to see why.
jorge carrasco
What the fuck are you talking about?! That made no sense at all.
Well said sir.
jorge carrasco yeah.. in vacuum you moron..
jgvbadv drop a rock and a small object (no feathers!!) at the same time and you'll see that they will fall with the same speed. It's called tge World fucking famous Newton Law
jgvbadv drop a rock and a small object (no feathers!!) at the same time and you'll see that they will fall with the same speed. It's called tge World fucking famous Newton Law
If I was walking along the sideewalk to see him purposly dropping his phones, I would be like "WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING"
So, I heard the iPhone 6 bends now? I didn't know smartphones were suppose to bend.
A lot of phones bends before actually. But yeah, this one is the easiest.
That's weird. I have the Samsung S4 and mine hasn't bent yet. Maybe it's the materials apple put into their iPhone 6. Eh. Who knows.
t doesn't mean iPhone 6/6 plus are clearly bad, but they are just not same as my expectation before. iPhone 6/6 plus features are awesome, but people are also need durable phone.
Samsung is the best any way
Jayvaughn Claude At the end of the day how does it even matter? You just waste your time on useless shit like facebook etc. anyways. You don't need a good fucking phone to do that, or what do you do with your phone, play games that require huge powers from your phone? In that case spending 700 dollars on a fucking phone to play angry birds on max graphics you could just buy a good PC. What the actual fuck is your point?
I have a galaxy S4 and I use my phone to the fullest for work and school. Facebook is a good way to communicate with friends and family.📱
Jayvaughn Claude You work to the fullest with your phone? REALLY?
Mrzjasuu yea I use every application that comes with my phone and want I downloaded at least every day.
THis video makes Steve Jobs roll in his grave
im sure he has a warranty on it
Actually, I bet it doesn't make him roll in his grave, for those who fail to get a warranty. PROFIT! I'll never buy an iPhone, anyways.
steve jobs was an asshole so im ok with that.
makethekill111 and did NOT believe in God.
Poop On-iJUNKs
RIGHT!
Wow! You bought an iphone 6 and drop it! My heart melted when it dropped!
You should do a drop test with different cases! So that we know what cases to buy!!
just get a case that protects the front of the phone
I drooped my 3GS even harder than this on the screen and not a scratch,is the edges who act like a case, these new ones are all glass.
Looks like we'll still be in business!
I don't think any smartphone can survive a drop from its face
I agree
Taylor Wang I have a Samsung Galaxy Nexus... it probably would.
What nexus
Chocolate Gaming studios Just Google Samsung Galaxy Nexus, and it pops up.
S6 active would
Im 5 years late, but now i have one. Ha
That awkward moment when you buy an apple only to find its a banana in disguise
''sapphire glass'' lol my ass, iphone developers allways made promises and they broke every single of them...
The sapphire glass is only on the watches and the camera lens, the rest is just the same glass they've always used.
thats not what they said, the said the outside glass, im 1000% sure, people even reviewed the glass...
The sapphire glass was a rumor. Apple never said they used it on the IPhone 6 as the screen.
" allways made promises and they broke every single of them..." Broke every single promises... I see what you did there
literally
Lol at all those Apple #1 fans here. I'll bet as soon as he dropped the phone, they're all like ''ZOMG CATCH IT SAVE IT BOOHOO''

I’m here bc RUclips recommended it for me
Maybe an apple vs android drop test next?
the reason i like iphone is because its easy to use. i mean go to setting and you can basically find you're way unlike other PHONES. People say it bend, it only bend if you apply a to of force to it. Also other phone bend to, its just that iphone 6 is easier to bend. IPhone still rules, Other phone sucks.
7k people too poor to buy an iphone 6
Love that ulquiorra avatar
your conclusion sucked.
t\Thumbs down from me
iPhone 6 is not cheap. $650 unlocked for 16 gb. Imagine 64.
CaughtWith ACamera get twoyear contract stupid
No, i hate contracts. I go overseas every year, and i travel a lot, so i NEED the unlocked version. Its more practical.
So much for a "premium quality device(s)" screen still cracks on drops.
same for android lol
Jernej K I've owned my note 3 since October of last year and not one scratch or crack on my screen, even after dropping it on concrete.
yea cuz you got a case, same for my iphone 4
Spyder2k2 Same with my iPhone 5... had it since christmas 2013 and no cracks or scratches, only one little scratch on the Apple logo on the back of the phone which is probably less than 1mm long.
I'm caseless Jernej K. The only thing my phone had done to it has collected lint in the microphone from being in my pocket and out in the open.
Who else came here just to see little children squabbling over themselves in the comments section? XD
Guilherme Oliveira nice comeback from a 12 year old. At least I don't look like one.
"Unbreakable sapphire glass"
1. that's not sapphire glass
2. Sapphire glass is scratch resistant. Not shatter resistant
@Someone6070
The Sapphire glass is actually supposed to be shatter proof through all levels of well, destruction until it's run over by a car. I saw a video on it earlier. Lol.
Apple wanted to use sapphire glass but demands were too high for iphone 6 so they used normal glass instead
They make you pay 600 dollars for it and won't use a quality material is kinda sad.
Meow said Da Dog actually the 6 starts at $199 not $600
that moment when you are about to comment on the commercial you just watched
Every fucking time
Seeing so many old replies talking about how ridiculous it is that these iPhones cracked is like a fever dream
So much for sapphire glass , was really looking forward to not having a case bigger than my phone for once
The sapphire glass is only on the watches and the camera lens, the rest is just the same glass they've always used.
benw999 The iPhone 6 Plus does have a sapphire display. I suggest you re-watch the keynote. The regular iPhone 6, however, doesn't.
Average price apple products : 800 dollars but still have less durabilty than a 30 dollars's Nokia ...
You're absolutly right . This phone can fall from heaven and still not broken .
only autistic kids that suffer from spontaneous seizures buy phones for their durability mate
I guess no one can make a drop-proof screen yet
James Ramirez i have a 200€ phone and its all glass man nowadays plastics used in phones like my dads, he has a qechua one, you can drop it from 2meters, you can place it under water and stuff.
benjamin fraeyman is it the rock phone?
James Ramirez idk
I just really love your channel!!!
My god, this really says it all.
Michael Nelson Annd that shows your failure at defending it. Well played
Yup, glass breaks on concrete. Hasn't this always happened with any phone with a glass face?
Not my Galaxy. I've dropped it so many timw
NonFamousRUclipsr your galaxy probably doesnt have a glass screen most smart phone screens are plastic which makes them a lot more durable
Da Caveman The majority of smart phones have some iteration of gorilla glass or a similar technology on them. I can't think of a plastic phone screen on the market on sale in 2014, in fact.
Dropped my note 3 many times from my Chevy blazers seat and it's fine, screen didn't crack, just have a tiny dent on the side of my phone.
not actually, I torture my LG LU for almost 4 years I even threw it just for the sake of seeing how much is it's tolerance level and all that happened was that the removable back case flew off and I just put it back on w/ the battery and everything was fine.
Dont the new iPhones have sapphire glass which should be as strong as diamond. or is it just really durable for scratches not if you drop it?
They abandoned making it all out of Saphire glass when they realized you can't cheat physics. By making it harder they also made it more brittle. This works great on areas like the home button and camera lens where they have shock mounting but a screen where its metal to glass is just asking for trouble.
No Sapphire. Apple wouldn't want nearly indestructible screens, it would kill the future sales for replacement.
The new iPhone screen is made of re-fried beans bleached clear and put under literally tons of pressure. That's why they are so strong but still recyclable.
actually, thats the Apple Watch not the iPhones...
These videos hurt my soul but I love watching them
I don't even have or need a phone...why am I watching this? XD
You don't need a phone when you don't have friends! :D
How are you watching

First drop test video ever
Don't people use glass screen protectors anymore? I have one on my phone right now and it's only an iPhone 4. Don't people use normal screen protectors either? Why complain about it being scratched when you don't have a protector for it?
some people don't want to spend extra money. and just because you have a screen protector doesn't mean it's 100% proof from cracking
+lalaland2199 its 1 dollar..
+lalaland2199 you probably never heard of tempered glass...

It pains you to see a phone dropped?
I enjoy watching this on my flawless oneplus one
LUCKY
Wow you're so cool I envy you.
Pau Gasol Go back to the gym Chicago needs you.
an iphone 6 user can buy like 2 oneplus one's with that money
give me one day and i can break it.
I dropped my Blackberry Passport just over halfway from the top of the Eiffel Tower... and it still rings louder than Quasimodo Whahahahabhua
I'm watching this on my new iPhone 6
you must be proud as fuck then
***** Jess should buy a case, and then she can drop it.
*****
I tried both iPhones and Android.
I have a question for you Wolf: You should know by now that sheep is sheep, no matter if its Android sheep or iOS sheep, the only difference is the thick fence between them!
I got mine too! Glad I ditched my HTC one for an iPhone 6. Best phone ever!!!
Nice
I'm glad I didn't waste money on these iPhones. I will wait until next year for the 6S with Sapphire screen.
3S(peed), 4S(iri), 5S(ecurity), 6S(apphire)

Iphone 6 looks like my galaxy s5, we got a bigger screen 2 years ago cmon apple keep up, gs5 camera is still better despite the iphone 6 being the newer phone, I have dropped my s5 dace firts on cement, on accident of course, not even a scratch. Team galaxy. :)

Dropping your device doesn't mean that your device is super . My old nokia n95 has dropped accidentaly for many many times on the streets, classrooms, workplace and at home ,but it still greatly working without any significant damage of the screen or case
Henry Oak Why you replying to me? I didn't say anything..
Which city was this recorded in?
So we conclude it's not durable enough...... STILL GONNA BUY IT.
I only ever see people with cracked iPhones never with Android phones that means something.
I think so, too!
Every one i know that has a galaxy is cracked i completely disagree
That's probably because Android users are smarter than Iphone users, therefore they drop their phones less.
When a Samsung cracks, it stops working. No one brings a useless phone out.
Owen Jing Fu Chan Mhmm... Not really...
this breaks my heart.
