- Rapper, songwriter, singer, producer, and notably Harvard professor, artist IDK stopped through The Daily Cannon studios to detail his recent album ‘F65’ release, the unique story about his come-up in the music industry, and how he’s now helping steer and inspire the normalizing of curating successful careers in the music business.
Known as a backronym, IDK, which stands for "Ignorantly Delivering Knowledge," found himself in much trouble growing up as he came to face consequences of his childhood rebellion. Having gone to jail and prison for a total of four times, the “Pinot Noir” rapper explains to Daily Cannon hosts Nick Cannon, Courtney Bee, and Masononthemic, that his experience of the prison system is designed to keep many incarcerated. IDK turned to music to officially change his outlook on life after deciding to put his all into his interest and talent with rap.
As his album ‘F65’ represents, which he describes as taking on tough conversations that many in the Black community ignore put against “feel-good music,” the DMV native shares how he connected with fellow rapper Saucy Santana and explains how the album track “Mr. Police” captures the exact idea of his project.
IDK goes on to share how he became a Harvard professor, meeting Kanye West, aka Ye, for the first time, and how he manifested purchasing his first Maybach after being inspired by Ye and Jay-Z.
