Sometimes having aliased textures with no effects looks WAY better. I want to see all the detail and honestly the original version does it way better.

But the PC remaster will look better than both PC original and console remaster. Make sure to buy the legendary edition (preferrably at a sale) if you want the remastered edition, owning all the DLCS and the original game on steam will give you the remaster for free. :)

Tell me again that the PS4 version is 1080P. I dont see it next to the super clean look of 1080p on the PC. the PS4 version looks like a BLURRY mess. Sony must be claiming 1080p upscale is really HD giving it that cinematic 30FPS look. Oh I get this version for FREE on the PC. Well why would I downgrade to this version when with a couple clicks in Steam Workshop and I have a version that Kills this remaster. That is why PC gamers get this for FREE.

The PS4 version doesn't look like that, youtube converted it down and I think they captured it badly originally. If it would be this blurry, everyone would get eye cancer lol
radical ed, it DOES look like that, it has bad post process AA which blurs the image, also it is native 1080p.
Chris Barr it actually looks similar to that in the PC remaster as well.. one of these effects they added really blurs things a bit

Besides, I never played vanilla Skyrim. I Always had a ton of mods and ini tweaks that made Skyrim a lot better than what consoles have today. It's kinda sad to see console gamers getting ripped off like this by Bethesda.

And DX11. Remember that on Windows 10 and 8, DX9 is capped at 4GB for vram. Today I threw a bunch of texture packs at the new Skyrim just to see how much vram I could fill on my R9 390. I did reach 4.9GB.
On Skyrim on DX9, I could only use 4GB. After that the game started to stutter so I had to scale back on texture packs, ugrids and the like.
Don't blame consoles, blame Bethesda. Skyrim on XB1/PS4 looks like crap compared to other games.

The PS3/360 had worse view distance than PC version, and PS4 view distant is even higher than original PC. The last gen consoles drop a lot below 30fps specially on PS3

A simple re-release with higher resolution, 60 fps, and mod support would have been fine by me, the remaster just has better lighting and a further view of grass, you know something is wrong with your remaster if it can compete with the normal game..

It also has more/better foliage if you hadn't noticed, the fields look a lot less empty now.
The remaster is also 64-bit and DX11, which is a pretty big improvement. No more RAM or VRAM limit.
More foliage was always super-easy on the PC. A simple xEdit- and .ini-tweak could get you more grass than you bargained for and the performance impact wasn't even bad. The 64-bit and DX11 additions are hopefully good although I hope we'll still be able to get that crisp looking Skyrim back somehow. 64-bit executable is a really good thing though, now we don't have to circumvent it anymore.

Obviously you could mod it to your heart's content, but it doesn't change the fact that that's what the default ultra settings look like.

PS4 uses post processing antialiasing, also known as "blur the shit out of the image to reduce jagged edges".
So basically blurring everything counts as remastering.

...Have you ever been on the Internet? there are currently 49,000 mods on the nexus alone, yes, that's FORTY-NINE THOUSAND. Between that, and 60FPS, it's tough to beat. I'll be sticking to the original game for all those mods, even though I'll get the remaster for free.

PC looks SO much more crisp and clean. Sure it doesn't have the lighting or whatnot but the main thing is 60fps vs 30fps. That is where the console version gets destroyed. Once you play 60fps, 30 looks terrible.... man, the more I watch this video, the worse the PS 4 version looks. 2011 PC destroying current PS4 easily.

Yes it just as 68utS said. the Ps4 pro as double the gpu power but still uses that really outdated cpu. Skyrim is a very cpu hungry game, I doubt with pro it would hit and keep a SOLID 60 fps.

Devs already stated native 4k for skyrim on pro, so resolution will be their focus, not 60fps, they simply take advantage of that decent gpu ps4pro has and cant do much with its cpu for better performance.

I think the Pros big bottleneck in achieving 60 fps will be the CPU in many titles. Many devs will go for a higher resolution instead

Honestly it's not fair to begin with. That smooth ass 60fps makes anything look better. You can't point out the subtle new effects while I'm over here oohing and ahhing over the crispness and smoothness of an average PC game.

Sorry but the PS4 version is just a piece of shit...compared to a 5 years older PC version. Yes there is a little more of grass but, who cares? Everything looks simply horrible when compared to the PC. Water reflections? Nice, I must admit it. But then the water just looks horribly plain compared to PC.
Let's be true: you just need a simple GTX660 (or AMD equivalent) to move that game in 1080p w/ everything maxed out and at constant 60fps. And if there is a tiny fps drop in very certain moments, just need a GTX660 Ti. PS4 is suposed to be between those cards (although closer to the Ti) so Skyrim Remaster should have at least the same quality as a PC. Even more being aware that they've had 5 years to work at it.

I bought it on PS4 and, to be honest, I kind of preferred the way it looked on the XBox 360 in some ways. That's bad.
That said, I haven't played it in 5 years and haven't played the DLCs so I am still happy...
But Bethesda did almost nothing on the graphics. Those teaser videos of mushrooms were very misleading. Bethesda out and out lied.
My low end gaming PC which is weaker than both consoles, can get the same performance and about the same visual quality. My PC has an r7 250, an Athlon x4 760k and 8gb ram. I'm pretty sure that both consoles probably could have run the game at 60fps.

The PC version plainly looks better here. Also, after the thousands of mods on the PC it becomes almost photo realistic. It's still impressive it looks decent on consoles given how much they cost. I'll get this on the 1 when it drops to $19.99. How they justify turning up the graphics and reburning the game for $60 I'll never know.
Did you guys mislabel the 2 or something because he kept saying how much better the PS4 version looked, but that was right the opposite for me.. The PS4 version looked way muddier and less sharp while he was describing the opposite? Also would like to see PC comparison with first gen versus re-master although its bound to not look as good as modded Skyrim can, but will be interesting to see.
