Cool video! Palp is such a nice leader, bringing something very special and thematic on the flip. Unfortunately not so popular at LGS because of vaders cost.
I've been playing Red Palpatine for a few weeks and it's been very fun. Suffers a lot of the same problems vs Aggro but i like it very much against all mid-range, soft control, and hard control
We have been testing a deck almost identical to this. (slight changes, but I would say 85% of the deck is the same). Green Sabine and a well piloted Yellow Boba are super hard to beat. The deck is super fun though!
I like 3 lackeys with ecl, but i think you need more good early ecl targets on ground to fight against sabine (it's hard to win as sabine has better units - both early and mid game). And after checking all 4 green 4 drops i don't see anything good enough. But, as chance to win against sabine isn't great, maybe ecl is an answer to have bigger chances if you get lackeys in first hand. I really like 3x confiscate in main deck - this boba armors can won games against palp witthout big help from other cards.
I think we just accept the Sabine match-up is very hard. You're right that there aren't many other great ECL targets in the low cost range. The main deck confiscate is definitely reasonable.
@@iamwooooo and i made i mistake - 3 confiscate in sideboard i like (i'm playing 2) ;) i think it's "needed" only against boba, against sabine it's nice - but you can deal with darksaber without it After my testing i still think that 30hp base is better in green palp, but not that much. Maybe against sabine you can put some phase 3 dark troopers - ambush against sabine leader or sabine unit can be really strong leaving 4/2 sentinel on board
I have been playing a Mono Green ECL deck (different leader) for a few weeks now and found Enterprising Lackeys that Ambush into Sabine on her deploy turn to be the play that turns the tide. I'm not running Palpatine's Return but I do often defeat a "beefy Resource" when the Lackeys are defeated (and go into the resource row) so I can return that beefcake to my hand using the last mode of Command.
I am a palp green enjoyer, but I found the command non-unique limitation to be really limiting. I have also never had strike true work out that well. Currently playing around with your (patreon) palp blue list and I like it a lot, might switch.
@@jonathanrfisher i didn't understand if it was referred to me 😂, but i play palp blue from set one...i love it and it performs quite good, also with boba yellow or green...the real problem is just sabine...becouse the removal are often not enough, she has too many power plays every turn and palp comes out too late 🥲
I builded also the yellow version which is even more fun, probably the funniest version of palp, but....i don't know, i think it's not consistent....and i completaly understand why palp green is at the moment the strongest version of this leader, becouse with that much ramp he suffers a bit less the devastating game play of aggro...anyway, i'm in love for blue palp...even if it will be unplayable one day ☺️
I dont believe the meta is changing to hard control. Its pretty balanced right now. In reality palp vs hard control is more a 50/50 match up. The relentless out doesnt always win the game against competent players. Its definitely a battle of whits.
25 pt health base for palp is wild.
Maybe

I’ve really like choose sides as a sideboard for mainly against avengers or even devistators and cant confiscated

Good deck. I played this for a while and did really well with it!
Ive always had trouble running ECL on Green Palp, but hey, i guess I do maindeck 3 Endless Legions.

so been playing this deck since set 2 dropped. few things different i like Rukh with timely intervention also playing 3 maul and no vader
Do Lackeys get ambush of Piett if you ambush them for 6? Also does Strike True work on Lurking TIE Phantom since it's your unit dealing the damage?
No and no
Unfortunately, no (for both questions).
Cool i am on it for a tournament this week-end...lets see what we share 😊
Good luck!

Mono Green definitely has limitation in the removal it has access to. I appreciate the support!
Can you share palp's blue deck? With the current meta i can not decide which palp is better (blue ir monogreen). What do you think?
Cool video! When are you going to bring us Blue Palpatine? qith the current meta i think it's a very strong choice. Thanks!
The lists are on my patreon currently. I'm not sure yet when a video guide may come out.
For those days where six ramp cards is just not enough.
I noticed you have the same forest like picture as your discors profile pic, playmat and also as a frame on your wall. What exactly is that?
It's the MTG card Gaea's Cradle.
@@iamwooooo You must really love it then lol
Out of curiosity, why the gamorean over dark trooper. Asking cuz Vader can’t pull out the gamorean
It costs two so it's easier to play (and also can be played on Turn one).
good luck with sabine
Thanks!
I can't wait for the return of Palpatine Blue version....one of my favorite control deck....unfurtunately ruined by the existance of sabine
I work on that too, I think there's hope.
What are you waiting for?? Make it happen!

I like your videos but doing a deck tech on a deck that loses to blue hard control decks where the meta is shifting to, feels really out of place
I don't lose to blue hard control with my palp green
Not sure I agree this always loses to hard control. Also not sure the meta is shifting towards heavy hard control.
