For people wondering, Rudeus basically annihilated the mans upper half of the body, thats why you see his upper half all shrunk because he had to regrow it from scratch
@danrois you can blame the two beastkin classmates. Their in their mating season and beastkin men all over are trying to challenge them for the right for their hand in marriage. So they pawned that responsibility on Rudeus claiming if anyone beats him they win. So in order to make a huge spectacle to discourage any more challengers he accepted the duel with the Demon Queens boyfriend.
@@Did_No_Wrong actually, baadi wanted to fight rudeus because the demon queen talked very highly of him, so he wanted to test rudeus's strength and see what kind of person he was because he had to be extraordinary to impress the demon queen, but with the whole mating season thing that the other commenter explained there were a line of people wanting to fight rudeus, so baadi beat them all up so he would be able to fight rudeus
Little Fun Fact: The six-armed-demon, LITERALLY had his top half blown away. That's why his voice is higher. He shrank, because he used his remaining mass to reform his upper-half. Rudy, literally COULD have obliterated the dude.
Eh, kinda. Anti tanks rounds are a lot more potent nowadays. Essentially hypersonic darts made of tungsten or depleted uranium. Their penetration comes not from spinning (which is only for stability) and more from sheer speed, and at those speeds metal acts more like a liquid so they need to resist erosion with the target, meaning they have to be very dense. This representation in the show comes from someone who doesn’t actually fundamentally understand how physics works, which is fine because it’s fiction. Yes, I’m a nerd. Sue me.
@@jacobbaumgardner3406 To be fair in the book he made it as dense as his current capability of mana allowed him to do. When considering his mana pool is the largest in the universe this means dude made a round more dense than uranium or osmium lol
no, anti-tank rounds use an inverted shaped cone inside the head to focus the explosion of molten metal. Rudeus used a rotating drill head for some reason. the animators could have shown focused energy inside a cone, that would be much more interesting Also the longitudinal spinning does basically no damage, it's just to stabilize flight, all the energy comes form the translational kinetic energy
One of the absolute favorite parts of this show is that Rudeus still has no idea just how strong he actually is. His entire life in this world he has been surrounded by the strongest of the strong, sword kings, top tier mages, literal deities take personal interest in him. So his frame of reference is entirely screwed up. He actually thinks he's still quite weak. That's why he didn't expect this. Fact is though, that several characters have suggested that he too is pretty absurd - his amount of magic is off the charts - but just feels normal to him because he compares himself to gods.
“Rudeus, you’re overpowered.” “What are you talking about? I’m weak compared to those deities.” “Exactly, they’re the ONLY ones you can compare yourself to!”
A good indication to just how much mana he has... later in the novels he basically makes power armor like Iron man, but powered by mana. He is literally the only one that can use it. Even Sylphy, who has alot more mana than avg cant. And he can run it for 'a couple hours'.
Not quite...he IS strong, but that is because he was basically one of the first people to hypothesize that practicing magic while young severely increases your mana capacity. As well as the fact that internalizing magic at a young age makes you more capable of performing it without chanting. It's less that he's overpowered and more that before mages were underpowered until he changed the game. The ending of MT even mentions how his breakthroughs and contributions in regards to the study of magic resulted in amazing mages in the future. He was effectively the father of modern magic. It's like how the Wright Bros were the founders of modern aviation - geniuses of their time because they were the first ones to break the mold, but they laid the foundation for people to learn from them and improve on what they left behind.
@@ApexGale Minor spoilers here. It has been mentioned a couple times in the anime, but mostly glossed over. Rudy was reencarnated into a stillborn baby, that died cuz it had the Laplace factor. Or a partial one. Laplace's huge mana pool. Its never been revealed why Rudy was able to do this, or why, after so many loops Orsted did, this a loop had Rudy take up residence in the previously miscarried infant Paul and Zenith had. The practicing early DID help it grow, yes. Thats not the only reason he has basically more mana than anyone. Sylphy also has a touch of the Laplace factor. Its why she had green hair, and a well above avg mana pool. But its also incomplete in her (and Laplace cannot reencarnate in a female body). The LNs explain alot of this in later volumes. If you havent read them, they are EXCELLENT reads.
I read MT as it was being fan translated a decade ago. I'll try to hide the spoilers. . . . . . . . . Orsted specifically mentions how while the Laplace factor is the reason Rudeus was able to have such a monstrous mana capacity, if he hadn't been constantly training and pushing his limits with his magic he never would have that much. Orsted even states if Rudeus hadn't been dedicated to training himself he would have only had maybe slightly higher than average mana capacity given the Laplace factor. In other words, Rudeus's constant hard work and life of avoiding negligence and stagnation is the reason he ends up powerful - *not* because of luck. Which implies that it is not something unique to him, any aspiring mages down the line have been given a template on how to follow in his footsteps. Sylphy was nowhere near as hardcore as Rudeus when it came to practicing magic, nor was she aware of the actual physics that Rudeus applied to his spells. There's also the aspect of having an affinity towards certain magics when performing them chantless. Sylphy worked at Zenith's clinic and as such grew more adept towards the application of magic in healing. Rudeus didn't, so he can't perform chantless healing magic the way she can. Conversely, because she had a burn accident as a child her mental trauma prevents her from performing chantless fire magic. Which Rudeus then uses to theorize that some people were more inclined to specific types of magic.
@@giovannidozzi to be fair he has an understanding of how basic physics work. When you can create things at will then incorporate modern day knowledge of physics you can do a lot of damage.
it's not that rudeus is underpowered, it's that magic is severely underexplored and under-researched. He disproves the dogma that mana capacity is limited (the more you use it as a child the larger it becomes), and he also creates valid theories on chantless magic. The only place where Rudeus is genuinely exceptional is his specific mana potential being higher than the norm (due to something called a Laplace factor, which you learn more about later). But most of the feats Rudeus performs are not particularly unique or special - anyone could do that if they dedicated their earlier years to magic. The story of MT even has a point mentioning how Rudeus completely changed the field of magic and how his breakthroughs birthed some seriously amazing mages. He was effectively the Galileo of that era.

I really, really wish the anime had given us Nina's perspective. She only appears for a few frames (the blue haired girl) But basically, she's Eris's rival and Eris mentioned Rudy and his exploits. Nina first didn't believe Rudy even existed. Then when she confirmed he did, she didn't believe his exploits. So she decided to go duel him, capture him, and bring him to Eris to show he's not that strong. So she gets to the academy, and first she confused by all the beast people. But she finds Rudy with the help of another beastman. She then watches Rudy completely dominate the guy in 3 seconds. She didn't even follow what happened and watches him walk off. She then goes to the library to duel him and sees an actual *line of beast folk* wanting to duel him. She is now more confused. So she gets in line. Then a *Demon King* appears wanting to duel Rudy. The Beast Folk say he can go first if he defeats all of them at once. He does. Nina also joins in on the fight. She's a Sword Saint, and a strong one. She's nearly as strong as Ghilaine, she barely even cuts him, watches him heal in a split second, gets knocked out, and see her sword get smashed. And now she's even *more* confused. Just in a "What the hell is happening? Why is a demon king here? Why am i fighting a demon king at a magician school? What is going on?" way. Then, after all that, she watches Rudy just completely *dominate* said demon king with a single hit. This breaks her brain so hard she just gets on her horse and goes back to the sword sanctum without even noticing. And she just thinks "This is the guy Eris is in love with? And she wants to be on *his* level?" And suddenly Eris's intense, nonstop training makes sense.

They really botched this scene. After reafing it i was waiting for them to animate this gor years. Its so anticlimactic compared to the source material.
Late to the party
To bad he’s a pdf
He's not
Season 1 part 1 and 2 were fun but season 2 was boring asl
I'd really love an issekai where a 50 year old grandma gets reincarnated as a teenage boy
Most beautiful anime for me
