Van Halen - Dreams | Hardest VH song to sing? [COVER]

I have made 3 different covers of "Dreams" by Van Halen, never satisfied with the final result. Every time I try to sing it, Sammy's stratospheric vocals chew me up and spit me out. I should have just lowered the key a whole step (just like Sammy does now), but his killer vocal shines its brightest in the original key. This time around was much like prior attempts, but at some point, you just have to give it your best, throw up the white flag and tell yourself, "This may be as good as it gets!" Haha
Feeling nearly defeated after so many takes, I found solace in an article (link below) on the Internet with a quote from Sammy Hagar:

And we did it, I started writing the lyrics and just did it, and then every time I tried to sing it live... This is a song you don't sing backstage... You get on stage, 18,000 people screaming, you're all fired up - then you give it a shot. But you don't sit around the house saying, "Let me warm up on that song."
