  • On the occasion of the bicentenary of Rosa Bonheur's birth in Bordeaux, the Musée d'Orsay, presents an important exhibition that honors this extraordinary, innovative and inspiring artist, who was very much oriented towards nature. A painter considered an icon of women's emancipation, Rosa Bonheur placed the living world at the heart of her work and her existence and was committed to the recognition of animals in their singularity, expressing their vitality and their "soul" in her paintings.
In this interview, discover the presentation of the exhibition by the curators Leïla Jarbouai, chief curator at the Musée d'Orsay, and Sandra Buratti-Hasan, curator, deputy director of the Musée des Beaux-arts de Bordeaux.
