I've been in love with the Sport Glide since it debuted. Really like that they're available with painted bags now. I take exception that a bike isn't as good just because it doesn't have the same cookie cutter Dynabro FXR fairing as every other bike on the road. It doesn't need to go on everything with two wheels.
I'm absolutely enthralled by the versatility of the sport glide. Yeah, it's not the best wind protection, but if you do a little light touring and mostly bopping around town you can't beat it.
Looks abit more like a slimmer fat boy in my opinion with the low bars but I can definitely see the similarities with low rider but just in my eyes I’m seeing more of a slimmer fat boy so I guess that makes it a slim boy or skinny boy 😂😂 bad joke I know
Love my Sport Glide, chose it for the versatility and customisation options - you can really build it out to your own own style, whatever that might be. Heritage is my my favourite stock HD though - a set of mufflers is all it needs.
I really wish that H-D comes out with a “Special” version of the Sport Glide with a 114 engine and a larger fairing, like they do for their baggers. Would make the Sporty a perfect modern cruiser!
Me too, I'd know exactly what bike to get. The sport glide is really the only bike that I'm really liking, just not interested in anything smaller then a 114. I know you can get big bore kits and such, but that adds a lot more money to an already expensive bike.
Heard they might come out with a low rider s touring. But has a frame mounted fairing like the laidlaw coastglide. Not my deal either. Just really hope the sportglide wont get dropped afterall. I want one so bad.
More emphasis on SPORTglide, so a stage 3 119 drag strip/street burner package with slippery-er/smaller fairing, go faster & stop faster bits, aggressive seating geometry(no need for the g-pa recliner on a go fast scooter) all at the same price point as it is now, and I'm in...just not the wifey...yet...hopefully...she says "NO"... I'll work on it.
I had a '19, at 6'2" it fit great, could use a taller windshield, but that's the price I pay for being taller than engineers design bikes for. Guess I'm the dad in this scenario :) Wife has a bad back and can't take the straight up posture. Had to get a different two up bike. She rides her sport bike with no issues..so we went the sport tourer route. Looking at a slim or the sport glide..but there's quite a bit of price difference.
I rented the heritage 2021 for a day when visiting my daughter in Washington and loved it! My first time on a Harley with a 6 speed doing 95 miles an hour with low revs and purring like a kitten was fantastic! As an over taxed Canadian I’ll be saving up for this machine and hope to purchase one in the next 2 years and do a US cruise to Texas
I bought a used heritage and saved a LOT of money. 2016 with only 9500 miles on it. Paid 11k cash 💰. I wouldn’t be afraid of used ones. Lots of them are still mint new and cost half the price. But I actually liked the old school look of the 2017 and older heritage rather than the new version. But that’s just a matter of taste. And trust me the 103 high output is still lots of power for a laid back cruiser. 103 was a great engine 👍
I'm almost ready to by a Harley and super keen for the heritage. Just wish they would put a gauge or something in the fake cap on the fuel tank. Apart from that it ticks alot off boxes and will be one I own
Matt, your composure is impressive. Nick is both very informative and hilarious. How you keep from laughing or even smiling at times is beyond me. Keep up the good work, this is my go to channel for factual HD info
I went in to buy a Sport Glide and walked out with a Heritage (a bike I never thought I liked), so I enjoyed this. The biggest one for me is I thought the bars (I’m 6’3”....not as tall as Matt, but still tall lol) were terrible. After riding it, I thought it was a blast but just didn’t feel totally right on it. I then sat on and tried a Heritage and I felt right at home. It also solved the biggest issue I had with my old bike (Bonneville) which was luggage (you touched on) and comfort. Thanks for this! I enjoyed tremendously and kept me happy about my decision.
Great video. Funny, it was these two bikes I compared when I bought my Harley in 2018. It was the Sport Glide which brought me into the showroom, but after riding both back to back I walked out purchasing the Heritage 114. Ultimately I preferred the greater power, and I felt the Heritage was a more comfortable bike. The floorboards, riding position and and windscreen were just such a better experience. I still think the Sport Glide looks better though. Three years later I’m about to trade in my Heritage for a CVO. Your videos have helped along the way. Thanks.
I was strongly looking at the sport glide due to being able to strip it down from the touring set up but ending up getting the road king special as it won me over in looks.
I have an 18 Heritage 114 and I love it. I looked at the Sport Glide and the Road King also. For me I like the extra torque of the 114, but would have been OK with the 107. I like that the Heritage as 100 pounds less than the bagger. A lot of time I ride without the bags and windshield. Also I only have a passenger for maybe 1/2 an hour each year. I am not a fan of spoke wheels because I don't like the care to keep clean and having tubes, but I also am not a fan of the Sport Glide wheels although I do like that they are cast. I love the footboards on the Heritage. I used to have a Sportster and the one thing I hated the most was that you couldn't move your feet around on it. With the footboards I can move them forward or back to change my foot position and eliminate cramping on a longer ride. I am 225 pounds and 6 foot tall and it fits me well. I also love the extra lights on the Heritage. Since I am usually alone I installed a solo seat with a removeable passenger pillion. I also like the bars on the Heritage better as they put my hands higher and I am not as folded up as on the Sport Glide. I think any bike that has throttle by wire should automatically come with cruise. The brakes have been great for me. I have ABS and have never needed to brake hard enough to kick it in. Great video as usual Matt. Very thorough look at these two bikes.
About not having used the ABS yet: Find yourself an empty road, space, lot, w/e. And try to activate the ABS. It's good to keep it busy from time to time. The thing it's full of valves, brake fluid, passages, electronics, et al that need to be "exercised" otherwise it may go bad on it's own and fail you when you need it the most. Happy motoring. 👌🙂
I had a 2012 RK and was looking for a new bike last year. It was between the Sport glide and the Heritage. I chose the 2020 Heritage 114 because I like the windshield, Floorboards and the bars better. Other than adding a sissy bar and luggage rack I haven't changed anything. It's very comfortable on long rides and handles the twisties very well!
is it true that on highways the heritage is not as comfortable as the RK? I hear it has better control and agility but on higher speed you feel the vibration which can be uncomfortable for some.
@@ohherewegoagain no it's about the same. It does feel heavy bumps more but not much. I've ridin in heavy winds and not had any problems. I just like the handling better and that its much easier to maneuver at slow speeds.
@@yankinoz1956 Yep test riding is the only way to find out if it suits me, and i am shorter than you haha. I am stuck between choosing RK and the heritage,, just by the look of it i prefer the heritage, also on another video someone tells its the better option if your smaller.
Matt your assessment of the FXRT Fairing on the Spirt Glide is 1000% Correct. Would be super popular! Hopefully Harley pays attention to Matt Laidlaw’s Videos 🤙🏼
The Sport Glide is the best in my opinion . A little of everything. Just put the 117 in it and call it a day . But people remember its a cruiser if your looking for top end speed go for a sport tourer . Yes you will have to go leave the Harley family unfortunately till they get the balls to create a new motor design to achieve the 150 to 180 top end for those who want that kind of riding. Besides that wishing all a safe on two's riding season.....
Things I like about the Sport Glide compared to a Low Rider ST... Forward foot pegs, the tail light assembly and license plate doesn't stick up like on a Low Rider S, and having cast wheels means tubeless tires, and if you run over a nail, just plug patch it and add air, and you're rolling again, no taking the wheel off to fix a flat. That's why I bought a used 2018 Twisted Cherry Red Sport Glide. Add a Saddlemen seat, a Harley top box, extend the fairing glass upwards for your height, and HD risers 4" up and 1.5" back, and you're good to go. Get some Saddlemen luggage to strap to a sissy bar, and you can really increase your amount of luggage you can carry. Enough for a Sturgis trip if you spend the night lodged. I mainly ride from the San Fernando Valley to canyon roads near by. Mulholland, Bouquet, Topanga, Piuma, Malibu Seafood, Neptunes Net, the Rock store on weekends. Probably when it warms up, Kernville via 178, Nine mile Canyon to Kennedy Meadows west of Piersonville, CA, maybe one day up to South Lake out of Bishop. It's a long weekend bike, best if you get a room, nightly, travelling light, not so much for camping.
This commentary warms my heart. To hear correct, practical information on a motorcycle video is so rare. Low maintenance is something y'all should really push more. I change the oil every 5k and the other 2 holes every 10k just to make it easy to remember. That's it. My last rear tire lasted 13k. For someone who rides a lot, these M8s can't be beat! I completely agree with the double disc heat dissipation, but on a bike called the "Sport" glide, it should look sporty and get the doubles. It should also get the taller rear shock. Love the painted bags. HD's about a decent color away from selling me one of those too...
I bought the 2021 Sport Glide( white) got a dark smoke 8inch windshield for a better look , I wear a full face helmet and ear plugs..so the wind doesn't bother me...also ordered a chrome chin spoiler and will possibly buy a solo seat for it...and that's it. The bike rides very smooth plenty of power with the 107 the best Harley I've owned so far out of the 4 I've owned. Love it!!
I am in this exact predicament right now! It's going to be one hell of a tough decision as I really found both to be perfect for my needs. Motor size is no issue, as I have kinda grown out of needing speed to get a rush when riding. As I'm in my sixties, I prefer the simplistic design and nature of both bikes as I enjoy the scenery and my surrounds instead of being distracted by all the new tech available on those bloody big screens. Thanks to both of you for giving me some valuable information that can assist me in making a final decision. It's still clear as mud!Lol. Cheers fella's.
What did you choose? Have the same dillema. I can buy 2 year old, 4k km used heritage for about 17k€ vs brand new sport glide for the same price. I mostly ride around city and wanna do 400-600k max trips
I haven't missed it. I rode a Heritage with the 114 and didn't think it was all that usable without a seat upgrade. I can dial in as much speed as I want in a short amount of time. If speed was really that important, there are a lot of cheaper, faster options than a Harley with a 114. That said, the upcoming H-D 1250 custom that will replace the Sporty could be intriguing.
Matt, I keep watching your vids for a while now. Thank you for helping me decide which bike to get. And I'm now a proud owner of a 2021 fatboy blackjack paint since yesterday. Keep doing you man. God bless!
I’ve owned both bikes and am currently riding the heritage. Better for the two up riding , larger motor , stock rider triangle, better for me (5’10). Miss the sport glide bags (heritage bags leak) and the inverted front end. Both are great bikes but a long ride on the sport glide made me realize I either needed to spend a lot of money to get the comfort I was looking for or I needed to consider another bike. Glad I did love my Heritage!
So the Heritage bags are not made out of weather proofed leather? What type of rain makes them leak? Like a Summer down-pour will make the contents wet?
@@adriamillasluque it’s not the bags themselves it’s the vertically mounted latch / lock. Water pools on the top then leaks down into the bag. I’ve now upgraded to a road king and honestly should have done that before the Heritage. Touring frame actually out handles the new softail frame stock for stock imo.
Have a 2019 FLSB with bar risers, a few other farkles. One thing to note with the stock fairing is how easy it is to swap the windshield. Just need a torx bit.
As an owner of a 2018 FLHC with stage2, the ride and cruise control was my deciding factors. At 5'9" and 190, it felt like I was more "in the bike" on the heritage vice ontop with the sport glide. Sportglide is a fun, stripped down around towner where I can do that and 300+ miles no issue with the FLHC. Both are cool in their own ways. I use both my 18 FLHC or 17 FLHXS as daily drivers and glad I went that route. Great video gents, keep it up!!
Both great looking bikes. Sport glide is nice with the quick detach features and lets you have a different look real quick. Then when you need the storage pop them on and go.
Hi, I watched your video a few weeks ago and thought : well, the Heritage is well fitted to my size (5'9") but I almost preferred the look of the Sport Glide. I had the opportunity to make a small test ride of the Sport Glide and it confirmed what I thought : I'm too small for that bike... arms and legs are stretched in an uncomfortable way... When the moment arrived the purchase a new bike, the choice of the Heritage was obvious... I'm from Switzerland and I like your videos very much, they are helpful and instructive. Keep going that way. Cheers from "Lake Geneva" shoreline.
Love this video, very complete review on both models. I like the Sport Glide more than the Heritage, but still respect that model too. 107 for me is more than enough for me to ride the whole world. Thanks for this review, it makes it clear for me: Sport Glide is the one ;)
Love my Sport Glide. Extremely versatile and comfortable. If I could change one thing, it'd be the chrome primary cover. The black one is much better. If I could change two things, It'd be the aftermarket. There's just not much there compared to other bikes, which is weird because I keep hearing how popular the Sport Glide is. I also really like the blacked out Heritage. The footboards are sweet, but I HATE spokes. The Sport Glide wheels are badass if you ask me. Very unique rims.
Great review guys thanks for that. Personnally I owned a Hertitage 114 and now just bought a sport glide in snake venom. Like both of them, altough, living close to the alps in Lyon, France, I do enjoy more riding the FLSB. I would like to put on a FXRT fairing, actually looking to find one but not sure how I can get one painted in snake venom. If you have any tips please let me know. By the way, I really enjoy your reviews Matt, even dropped by two years ago when I was travelling to LA and actually have a Laidlaw patch on my jacket ;)
Great video. I live on the East Coast own a 107 heritage the best bike I’ve ever owned. I wish some of the East Coast dealerships would have these kind of videos.
When I got the FatBoy, I ordered the Bags/Windshiel Package and was completly surprise of the finish of the H-D bags. Even the Dealer was sorry for me and gave me back the money no questions asked. I kept the excellent Windshield. So sometime not everything is perfect, always check the product.
I purchased the 2020 Heritage 114 last year, it was just about the only softail in the dealership. Lucky for me, 20 or 800 miles in a day it handles well and is comfortable. Had owned 2 Dynas before and there is no comparison for me.
good points about weight ,,, and sizing ,,, just shows the importance of test riding for a decent amount of time,,, and a good dealer who is prepared to spend the time making videos to show the models , and their suitability for the task ..
Education on the models is great. Nick was so right on quality of bags and about everything else Harley makes. i dont buy anything third party for that reason. You get such quality. I went with the 2018 Heritage 114 when i retired and am so happy. My first Harley and i have been so happy. I have added though to my collection the 2021 Road Glide Special for longer trips. I was not really a believe in a bagger till i test rode it and wow yep there is a difference. you have so a great channel man. keep it up.
Hey Matt, thanks for the video! I love love my 2020 Sport Glide. I shopped it against the Street Bob, because I had an old Dyna Street Bob, 2012. That thing with the 114 is a rocket, and I was tempted, but no room for gear, and I'm not a fan of laced wheels. I've had bad luck with them. I really like the Sport Glide wheels. I did add an aftermarket windshield, to bring it above the 10" riser and T bars I added. Definitely head down south for my next bike!
I like both bikes but I do alot of interstate riding and like a heavier bike . My Road King has much less buffering than my dyna did. I can go 500 miles and feels like I've been on my recliner all day. Great video Matt thanks. God Bless
Great review Guys, well done. In the UK the 107 Heritage is £4k more than the Sport Glide, and if you want the 114 Heritage it’s £5k. I prefer the Sport Glide for its looks, versatility and price, and have a vivid black deluxe one on order. Can’t wait!
Another great, and in depth review of both bikes. I do wish H-D made a Sport Glide with a different fairing and different wheels. A CVO Sport Glide? Now that would be amazing!
What a great comparison. Both have the 30 degree rake on the front, both can be stripped down to a standard/classic cruiser look. IMO the sport glide needs mid controls, not forwards. If you are gonna have the "sport" in the name then that implies a sportier ride, which is hard to do when you have forwards. Wonder if there is the option of swapping out the controls to mids?
I like the setup of the Sport Glide. But for $5,000 less I get the same engine on the Softail Standard. I could do a lot more customizing with $5,000 on the Softail Standard and make it an even better bike than the factory Sport glide. IMO, for $18, 599 the Sport glide should have the 114.
I was thinking about this. The only reason i wont is that it's hard to get a propper 5 gallon fuel tank in the Netherlands for it. And that is a must for me.
Another great comparison review! As much the Heritage is sort of the "Jack of all trades" it is really still underappreciated as you both pointed out. I think if Harley can just offer an optional hard bags, and perhaps optional cast wheels, it can be my next Harley but as Nick pointed out, the wrap leather looking bags does not cut it for me either...but man, the rear mono shock with 4.5" of travel will beat the touring line any day in riding comfort...In the mean time, I am still attracted to the touring line, especially the '21 Road Glide Special in Billiard Teal, change the rear suspension to a Legends REVO-A and its a game changer...
Took a Sportglide around Europe 2 up.....Once we dialled the suspension in correctly the thing handled like a dream....Ended up buying a Slim but it was close.
Thanks for the video guys! Definitely a good comparison between the 2 which I've been looking at for a while . Also enjoy the review on the heritage lol
Well I definitely have a lot of test riding to do, always liked the look of the Heritage and sort of been looking at the Sport Glide lately, but also considered Road King or Street Glide too. Mainly be doing commuting on the Highway, but also like to ride on the back roads and do some long distant trips of 200 plus miles and want comfort, my back side doesn't have the padding like it did in my younger years lol.
I would have liked to see more on the rider experience between the two bikes. More on the feeling between the high bars vs lower bars, and the riding differences between boards and pegs on what is essentially the same platform . My ‘20 Heritage is my first bike with high bars and boards., and I still feel uncomfortable with them. I guess I should have ridden the Sport first, but I loved the ride and stying of the Heritage.
For the Street Glide Special go HD772 13 inch Ohlins. I'm 180 pounds and with the 26N/mm spring I get a very comfortable plush ride at their stock 13mm setting. Fully adjustable for compression and rebound.
Great video, men. Out of the M8 bikes, I've owned a Heritage, RoadGlide special, FatBoy, and now a FatBob. Absolutely 100% everything you have covered on this video is perfectly true. I've ridden the SportGlide a couple of times and I almost bought one. I went the FatBob route because of the "personality" it has. However, since I do a lot of kms a month (about at least 1,500) I do miss the Heritage and the RoadGlide, but since I am short (about 5,4) and I have to do some country roads (not paved), the Heritage is more for me because it is "easier to handle" without being afraid of falling when at slow speeds. I want to have it with me again, hopefully with the capacity of SportGlide bags :)
My last HD was a Fatboy with the 103. I ride an Indian now and went to the local dealer during a big tent sale. Rode the Sport Glide because of how nice it looks and the versatility. After the ride, they asked me how I liked it. I told them I did not like the 107. Can’t put my finger on it, but it just doesn’t feel right. Not at idle. Not during acceleration. Not at cruise. For what it costs, hard no. I’m not paying that much for something I don’t love. Won’t be coming back to HD any time soon. The company can go in any direction it chooses. But I’m not paying a premium price for that engine. Love the idea of the Sport Glide, if they had it in 2014 I would have gotten one in a heartbeat. The only gripe I had about the 103 was that heat in traffic. But they would have happily sold me a $200 piece of sheet metal to divert heat from a known problem. But yeah, Harley. Younger riders want a battery bike. Good luck.
Really good comparison discussion - appreciate your vids actually give personal opinions (good & bad) and not just "marketing" views on the bikes you compare. The Goldilocks comment about the Heritage struck a cord. I'm 5'10" & 25k on a lighter weight cruiser I will replace (solo ride only). I tend to gravitate more to the Sport Glide style, painted bags & front suspension. But for what I really expect from the cruiser bike in garage (longer trips & my chillin' mindset rides), the Heritage may be a better allrounder. Also considering Road King. I sat on a Heritage & Road King last weekend at the nearby GA dealership and was surprised at how much more bulky the RK looked & felt. The Heritage felt much more of a natural fit (no SG's in stock that day). One difference not discussed on this or other vids is running tubed tires in the spoked wheel bikes. Is that a big enough factor to consider, especially when planning to use the bike on road trips? Ability to easily plug a puncture is nice to at least get back on the road until it can be evaluated. Is this uncommon enough that spoked wheel style outweighs the potential issue? Maybe Heritage, Deluxe or Slim riders can comment.
I know ir doesn't mean much anymore since the Sport Glide is no more, but my wife passed on the SG and went with Electra Glide Standard for basically two reasons 1) larger bags that look better 2) floor boards instead of pegs. For longer rides that definitely makes a difference. The same argument can be made for choosing a Heritage over other Softail models.
Great review of the 2 bikes. I’m a bit partial to the Heritage, since I own a 115th Anniversary #395. Best of both worlds, touring/riding. My only complaint is not having the quick release for the bags. I do like to strip her down, removing bags, screen and passenger seat. Turns into a different beast.
Love the videos. Very informative videos on such fantastic products. I grew up on Harleys and I have always been a big fan of the Heritage Softails and Road Kings. Unfortunately, my father just recently had his houise burn down and lost a '75 FLH 1200. Thank you for all the information.
Wow, I'm highly upset, I was lookin forward in buying a Sport Glide in 2023. This is the perfect time to purchase (financially), but I recently found out in 2022 Harley Davidson is cutting out the Sport Glide. Totally heart breaking to me.
Buddy has a Fuel Moto 124" kit is his sport glide. Fuel Moto did the entire install. Cylinders pistons. Intake throttle body exhaust cams. Dyno tuned and installed.for around 5400. Made 139hp 149 torque to the rear wheel and its even the lower compression kit. It rips.
Excellent review. Older guys like myself like the look of the heritage. It’s what attacked us to them in the first place. The bags are a lot better than the older pre ‘18 bags but still not that great. The sport glide I like the chassis a lot. Long rides with a fair amount of gear it rides better.
Sport glide. With longer suspension&lowrider.28 degree frame. 114.motor.ie a Sport Glide. No to 2discs. More weight in wrong place. Don't do fairings. Thanks for comparisons. Rod
I wanted to love the Sport Glide so much but the forward controls and bags just kill any chance. And it's funny Nick prefers the clamshell bags because I can't understand why a bag would ever open sideways. You can't fill it up and have to squish whatever is in it just to close. Horrible design. But I love the Sport Glide stripped down: looks like a Low Rider was supposed to. Btw, bring back the LOW RIDER!
Had they put the 114 in the FLSB, I'd have bought it. Ended up with the '21 Lowrider S cause I like going fast, but the FLSB with mid controls and the 114 would have done it for me. Great video as always Matt, thanks for taking the time to put this together.
Really love the sport Glide, but with a little bit of powder coating and news leather bags and seat ( dont like the studs at all) the heritage could be aggressive bike
I will say that I love my 2002 heritage 88 twin cam . The 88 has some flaws and one is the heat. You can buy some after market oil coolers and fans for the motor. This helps but does not cure the heat problem. Other than checking to cam chain set up the 88 is a great motor.
thanks for this review, clean, interesting !!! wonderful bike, i order one yesterday, falling in love ...after 45 years ride of ... other brands .... !
Nice comparison , but there is a minimum 5k difference in price between these bikes. In Europe the Sportglide starts at 21000€ and the Heritage at 26000€ without delivery and any options.
Seat on SportsGlide needs upgrade especially the pillion for longer 2 up rides. Definitely a bigger windshield. Bike handles like a dream though. Even with a passenger!
I really like sport glide look without bags and faring. A different bike completely. Nice.
Yup. Super sick when stripped.
Agreed.
Looks lowrider s like if you ask me
Absolutely I agree from France
@@justingillette8287 stripped down the sport glide looks abit more like a fat boy in my opinion but I can see what you mean by low rider s
Put the 114 and dual front brakes on the sport glide and I’m in!
I have the SG and the single front disc is more than ample.
@@reddog907 lol
The 107 has plenty of power don't sleep on it.
In your comment, you can see that you have never ridden a sports glide.
Really like it when you do these. Not all sales people go into these differences like you do. Thank you
It looks almost exactly like the Low Rider with the bags and the fairing off. I actually like that look.
I really like the sport glide style. I prefer it to the Heritage but each to their own. I wish sport glide was a bit more blacked out.
The Heritage looks like a Dad's bike. The Sport Glide looks like Son's bike. Old versus Young. Traditional versus sporty.
I’m 68 and love my sport glide, makes me feel like the son 😀
I had a '19, at 6'2" it fit great, could use a taller windshield, but that's the price I pay for being taller than engineers design bikes for. Guess I'm the dad in this scenario :) Wife has a bad back and can't take the straight up posture. Had to get a different two up bike. She rides her sport bike with no issues..so we went the sport tourer route. Looking at a slim or the sport glide..but there's quite a bit of price difference.
Best Harley reviews on RUclips! Period.
Thank you sir. Thanks for the support
Amen, good job guys
Thanks.
Cool mate, you just made up my mind.
Heritage it is.
I had the same dilemma.
You know all these years later, I’ve had another 5-6 bikes.
That Heritage was my favorite of the bunch, I want to get another one.
I was strongly looking at the sport glide due to being able to strip it down from the touring set up but ending up getting the road king special as it won me over in looks.
Right on. Sounds like you made a better decision for yourself.
About not having used the ABS yet:
Find yourself an empty road, space, lot, w/e.
And try to activate the ABS.
It's good to keep it busy from time to time.
The thing it's full of valves, brake fluid, passages, electronics, et al that need to be "exercised" otherwise it may go bad on it's own and fail you when you need it the most.
Happy motoring. 👌🙂
With the Steering lock engaged you can't steal the Sport Glide fairing. Try it, you cant release the latch.
Good to know. Thanks!
@@yankinoz1956 ok thank you.
@@ohherewegoagain also I'm only 5'7 and easily flat foot it and it really corners!! Take one for a test ride.
Love my 2018 Sport Glide. I'm partial to pegs and the rear pegs just happen to be placed perfectly for changing leg positions.
HD. Just put your touring set of good bags on heritage, like we all do on heritages. And the touring top case. My 10 heritage has both.
I just wish you could get the 114ci in the Sport Glide.
I’d own one if they did.
Do a stage 2 cam kit it’ll run with 114 all day!
dont need get a bigger motor. just hop up your motor up and you can get all the HP you want
I am waiting for the 1250 RevMax Sport Glide. Then it will be a real SPORT Glide. and yes it will need dual disk up front.
It seems like when both of you host the videos, it’s a better job 🤔
👌👍✌️
P.S. 114” and dual disc ( you know what bike) , and I’ll be right there....😉
Just picked up a 2021 Sport Glide, my wife and I both love it.
Both great looking bikes. Sport glide is nice with the quick detach features and lets you have a different look real quick. Then when you need the storage pop them on and go.
Good in-depth review on both bikes. Went about 10-15 minutes too long due to repetitive banter, but all in all solid breakdown! Thanks guys!
Thanks Matt /Nick for a great review. Glad to see you again... I was getting withdrawal symptoms 🙂
Ride safe from Sydney Australia
🤘🤘🤘
Love your videos Matt. You do such a good job contrasting the differences in models. Thanks!
I purchased the 2020 Heritage 114 last year, it was just about the only softail in the dealership. Lucky for me, 20 or 800 miles in a day it
handles well and is comfortable. Had owned 2 Dynas before and there is no comparison for me.
good points about weight ,,, and sizing ,,, just shows the importance of test riding for a decent amount of time,,, and a good dealer who is prepared to spend the time making videos to show the models , and their suitability for the task ..
I’ve ridden the Softail with the 114 and that thing really moved. Very comfortable riding bike too.
Just turned over 24,000 miles on my 2019 Sport Glide. Fabulous bike, and i ride two up constantly on it. Great all around-er.
I bought my FLSB in 2020. Gave it a SE Stage 1 Upgrade and put a Mustang Seat. Great bike for cruising and touring.
I think that's everyone's grip, im like wtf!
I agree 114 or 117 and dual brakes and I can see myself buying one.
Took a Sportglide around Europe 2 up.....Once we dialled the suspension in correctly the thing handled like a dream....Ended up buying a Slim but it was close.
Some terrific insights in this video, great job! You guys are good at this, do more.
Great description of the Heritage as a Goldilocks bike. When I bought my 2018 Heritage I felt like I got two bikes for the price of one.
For sure. Thanks for the comment
Good feedback. I'll try to hit those topics more in the future.
Great review guys!! I’m in the market for the sport glide, so looking forward to test riding one soon.
For the Street Glide Special go HD772 13 inch Ohlins. I'm 180 pounds and with the 26N/mm spring I get a very comfortable plush ride at their stock 13mm setting. Fully adjustable for compression and rebound.
This was a really nice in depth review.. thanks both Matt and Nick for your views.
Good luck.
I'm in love with sport glide.soon getting the licence. Who knows. Great video
SG for the win. Easy suspension adjustment, forward controls, awesome looks with easy detachable bags and fairing.
I liked the sport glide but after sitting on them the heritage felt better and the test ride sealed the deal.
I agree that the sport glide has way more potential, but I'd go for the heritage. And, I'd have to grab that 131 kit, of course.
Rod
I think the Sport Glide would look better with something like a Memphis Shades Gauntlet fairing or equivalent.
Always at the top guys.... this is one of the best review i have ever seen
I wonder if we'll see RDRS coming next year to Softail line, it would be awesome !
I really think it would be cool to see a sport glide cvo with a 117 with taller shocks from factory and bars like the low rider s
I wanna know why there is no 114 offered. Deal breaker...
Why did this feel like a sales pitch for the HD milwaukee 8 in general vs a comparison video?
Sorry, sometimes it’s a fine line. It’s better than the twin cam is the point we were trying to make.
Thanks for the comment
Had they put the 114 in the FLSB, I'd have bought it. Ended up with the '21 Lowrider S cause I like going fast, but the FLSB with mid controls and the 114 would have done it for me. Great video as always Matt, thanks for taking the time to put this together.
Thanks for the comment man
Really love the sport Glide, but with a little bit of powder coating and news leather bags and seat ( dont like the studs at all) the heritage could be aggressive bike
I had sport glide bars put on my heritage and put the heritage bars on my sportster 48
I will say that I love my 2002 heritage 88 twin cam . The 88 has some flaws and one is the heat. You can buy some after market oil coolers and fans for the motor. This helps but does not cure the heat problem. Other than checking to cam chain set up the 88 is a great motor.
Id LOVE a Sport Glide and the Heritage is just PURE classic
Great video , I’m looking at both these bikes , I’d be happy with either , best review ever , subscribed !
Really well done. I sold my RGS last year and am looking at options. I think it's gonna be the Heritage, for all the reasons you state.
thanks for this review, clean, interesting !!!
wonderful bike, i order one yesterday, falling in love ...after 45 years ride of ... other brands .... !
Enjoy man thanks for the comment
Hey Matt . Great review ! I just visited your dealership on my bike trip from washington . It was nice to see the race bike on display !
Thanks for stopping by 👍🏼
Nice comparison , but there is a minimum 5k difference in price between these bikes.
In Europe the Sportglide starts at 21000€ and the Heritage at 26000€ without delivery and any options.
This Vlog is excellent. Very good practical info. Thank you.
Seat on SportsGlide needs upgrade especially the pillion for longer 2 up rides. Definitely a bigger windshield. Bike handles like a dream though. Even with a passenger!
Some great insights as always. A very interesting and informative comparison video...well done👌👏
Thank you! Thanks for checking out the vid
