I’m a 2000’s baby, which naturally means I never got to experience any of this... I really wish I did though. My first visit was about 6 (?) years ago I think. I fell in love with Epcot, and now I love it even more with its rich, magical history. Unfortunately it’s mostly gone now... but hopefully someone will realize how much fans miss the glory of 80’s Epcot, and will bring it back for everyone to enjoy.
I love everything about old EPCOT Center and now want to work at Disney with the soul purpose of restoring the beauty of the park. (But mostly the music)
I can relate to this so much. I wish every day I had the ability to time travel so I could journey back to see Epcot in its golden age 😍. I wish I could see it. Unfortunately they will most likely never bring any of it back. Disney is a company that always moves forward and especially with their theme parks, they don’t bring old things back. Bringing Figment back (although not at all close to the original, with no dreamfinder) was lucky, but bringing an entire attraction back is unlikely. However, no matter the odds, I want Disney SO BADLY to bring these rides back. The ones I want back most are Journey into Imagination, Horizons, Kitchen Kabaret, and World of Motion. But, at least, they are bringing back the 3 glass spire fountain (not sure its exact name). Now we have the chance to experience what it was like to walk into the park to see those beautiful glass spires atop a beautiful flowing fountain. Sadly, walking past those spires and into Future World, none of the attractions we long to ride will be there. And Future World is soon to have a name change 😩. It seems like we are getting closer and farther away from experiencing the old Epcot at the exact same time..

People who weren't around for the 1982-1994 stretch of EPCOT Center really missed out. I try to explain to my kids how amazing it was and words and old ride through videos on RUclips just don't do it justice. It's a shame the Walt Disney Company didn't know what to do with it.
Am I the only one who hears "Energy" for the pre-show music and immediately can hear the screens rotating? (they got really loud in the last few years before Ellen's Energy Adventure came on board) One of my favorite pre-shows ever.
I visited Epcot when it first opened in 1982/3, Stayed at the contemporary resort hotel . All these rides were amazing.....I wish I could go back again to the 80’s and relive this.
I think the thing about the 80's and 90's I really miss is that it didn't feel like a strategic fastpass experience, but you just sauntered through Epcot and had lots of space, and you could usually go to Horizons, one of the best attractions ever, and just hop on. And the music around the parks was magical.
I'm almost afraid to post this because if it's a mistake I don't want it fixed, but I was at Epcot on 5/15/23 and in the outside bathroom on the back side of the Journey Into Imagination (With Figment!) Pavilion, they still had a loop of the OG Journey into Imagination and Magic Journeys soundtracks covered in this video between 23:59 and 35:48. I was shocked and pleasantly surprised to hear one of the last vestiges of the old EPCOT Center era still hanging on in the park today!
I've seen the outside of the bathroom near the edge of Imagination Pavilion in Futureport82's recreation of EPCOT Center, but I have not actually been there in my whole life.
Dude, this is an incredible collection. I was just listenig to the NEW EPCOT music and was wondering what the original music sounded like. Well, you are the man!!!!
This was the epcot that I remember seeing when I was a kid and it was awesome and my favorite song was the universe of energy which I would always sing on the way to epcot.I miss all the old rides.
I only went to the original EPCOT Center once, on my first trip to Disney World in 1993. I don't think 12 year old me fully appreciated it at the time, but in retrospect, it was an amazing experience that I still have core memories of even today. Horizons was my absolute favorite and I made my parents take me on it multiple times to see all of the endings. Good times!
What was really neat about this music was the blending of orchestral and electronic sounds. A fusion of old and new...kinda like World Showcase and Future World, huh?
Used to be the best theme park in Central Florida. It was my favorite and always provided a great day to spend there. Now it's nothing more than another kiddy park because "children" got bored. "Children" need to remember that it's the PARENTS that pay for the parking, tickets, meals, hotels and everything else on a Disney trip. They should be happy they're along instead of whining that there isn't another stuffed toy for them to beg for. This was a great place for adults to enjoy themselves, there were no characters all over the place (until later years that is) and great restaurants and events year round. Then the soccer moms got all pissed that the "children" weren't happy. The Living Seas was destroyed and turned into a cartoon based kiddy ride, Universe of Energy was superb only to be cleaned out and hosted by a robot lesbian, Norway was amazing, Body Wars was great and many others all destroyed for nothing more than kiddy rides. It's a shame. This music was fantastic and reminds me of a great park that WAS, EPCOT Center.
The best theme park music in my opinion. Horizons, Spaceship Earth, Journey into Imagination, The Land and American Adventure, the music is like the siren's song to me.
Liked the original EPCOT, but I was not born during that time. I was born in 2006, in the late 2000's, and I have never been to EPCOT before in my life ever. I would dream of going there one day, ONE DAY, man. Thanks for the upload! 😂
I would have hated music like this as a kid, but I love it now. Not even just in a nostalgic way, but I find it very soothing and relaxing. I need more of this in my life
Damn!!!! That first image of EPCOT Center with Horizons and World of Motion and Universe of Energy and the Living Seas... and not a shred of Intellectual Property. Again... DAMN!!!!
Wow, lovely memories!! I was 11 when I first visited EPCOT and then back again at the age of 13 in 1985. I never returned after that but I am glad I was there during these great years!
I went back in 2010 and 2012, and god, there's a lot changed at EPCOT now. Maelstrom has been replaced with a Frozen themed ride, Universe Of Energy is now "Ellens Energy", World Of Motion is now Test Track, Horizons is now Mission SPACE, Journey Into Imagination is now "Journey Into YOUR Imagination" with Eric Idle.
I’m Brazilian and the first time I’ve been to Disney World was in 1992, when I was eight years old. I remember crying to Tomorrow Child and loving all the rides’s theme songs so much…So sad the park changed so much over the decades. It was, as someone said here, a place of wonder and of hope. I cherish my memories of my Disney visits very much (I went in 1992, 1994, 2000 and 2012), but up to 2000 it was indeed something trully magical and special.
Nothing like earing this music to bring a smile to your face on remembering when you walked into the Epcot entrance and seeing Spaceship Earth....good times all around!!
This is a really mighty labor of love. Thank you so much! I'm transported - so much so that I got very emotional. Even in the 80s, the age of Reaganomics, New Wave/Post-Punk and yuppiedom, EPCOT was a beacon of idealism and hope for the future, beaming with faith in mankind. How far we've fallen since. I know that hope has gone out of vogue, but I wish the Disney parks would re-inject some of this ethos into the parks today. It's needed now more than ever. I got teary listening to "Listen to the Land"! One question, where did you source all of these from? Must have been a really arduous task to gather them all together. I really wish there was a Music of EPCOT record released back when! Thank you again!
Though EPCOT might never be able to find is roots that have been buried so deep into the Disney Park's history, I feel that there are still some gems to be found such as the new Test Track and Mission:Space
I wonder how many times I have listened to this in the past four years? I know it's been a lot. I keep coming back to it as it brings back so many great memories.
I love this. I remember being at Disney World as a kid and watching a new monorail track being built, wondering where it would go. When we came back and finally saw EPCOT, it was impressive (and crowded!). This brings back those memories!
It’s the recent changes from 2012 onwards that bother me the most. Ever since they tried to shoehorn Tron into Test Track, it seems that Disney execs are looking for any place to stick movie IP. Since then we saw Energy Adventure and Maelstrom close in favor of movie rides and there’s no end in sight.
This is an amazing tribute, thank you! I miss EPCOT's glory days and you've done a beautiful tribute with the soundtracks from back then as well as the pictures! Thank you for a trip down memory lane!
I was looking since 1992 to find the name of that music i loved so much when i first visited Epcot, and thanks to your video now i know its "The Universe of Energy (Universe of Energy)" and could hear it again! Can't thank you enough!
Robert Eugene joe hursh* and he was the monorail narrator from 2004 until 2012, not the announcer for Epcot. You’re actually thinking of the late Jack Wagner.
59:47 Dreamland paranormal talk radio show theme. RIP Art Bell fly high to the stars. The true real father of late night talk radio, and Coast to Coast AM. I always got chills every time I heard this thing.
My mum took me to EPCOT in November of 1993. She has since passed, and this music just made me cry. Thank you! Amazing memories for which I am sooooo thankful.
In the summer of '87 we went to Epcot. After visiting the living seas, we got some ice cream; as we were walking the path to the next attraction, I bumped up against Dad's arm and got burned by his cigarette. 😂😊 good times Epcot was cool, but, I'm a Magic Kingdom guy.
Listen to this EVERYDAY at work. I love the images you put.. it helps me imagine Epcot back then. I was born 1998 of course I NEVER got to experience epcot in the 80s & 90s but I wish I could go back in time. Epcot in the 80s was better than it is today & I wish this playlist was still playing now.
Man.. the wonders of life pavilion could’ve been something great. The things I would give for it to come back. So sad how a building dedicated to teaching about health and fitness turned into Some wine fes garbage..
Now they are replacing it with something else (and adding in Pixar mixed with emojis T_T) I wanted to see Buzzy but I have never seen him all my life (I’m 13)
This is great listening, I now recall I had a record album of this...had a major head injury on Disney property in 2005, lost most my memory before 2005, these tunes are bring back some lost memories! :)
I was born in 85. By the time this EPCOT faded away, and I saw EPCOT for the first time, I was in my 20s. :( I never experienced Horizons, World of Motion, Wonders of Life, Communicore, Universe of Energy Pavilion, or the original Imagination Pavilion. It was Innoventions, SpaceShip Earth 3.0 (Judy Dench version, I think??), Test Track (Chevrolet Edition), and Mission Space had replaced Horizons. Wonders of Life golden dome was closed. Energy Pavilion was Ellen's Energy Adventure by then. Thank goodness the Land and Seas pavilions are stil there in their "mostly" original glory. The Imagination Pavilion is a bit disappointing compared to what it used to be.
I discovered this music video just yesterday (May 3rd, 2020) .... i was at Epcot on the third day that the park was open (Oct. 3rd, 1982) and it was very inspiring and positive. I really love the old original Epcot.
I guess I'm in the minority here. Like most of you, I am a huge original Epcot Center fan. The 1984-1995 years were foundational for my experience with Epcot and these musical themes instantly bring me back. As much as I miss these attractions and soundtracks, Epcot desperately needed the first major overhaul it received for the Millenium Celebration. Moving away from "corporations solving the world's problems" to a global community celebration at that time worked for me, even if we saw the end of some of these original attractions and soundtracks. Unfortunately, once the Millenium Celebration ended, things at Epcot got really stale in the mid-2000s and downright sad in the 2010s. Instead of progressing with the global community themes throughout the park, what we got for over a decade and a half was a weird hodgepodge of old stale attractions and new uninspired ones with nothing really fitting together. I am at least grateful the park is now getting that second major overhaul. Do I trust the current leadership's decision-making? Not really. Do I want IPs to be slapped on everywhere without thought? Of course not. But something had to be done and the idea of framing the park in Discovery/Celebration/Nature/Showcase neighborhoods sits ok with me. Epcot is now more about discovery and togetherness and therefore the pavilions *should* be dedicated to themes that are a bit more accessible than "energy" or "motion". If done right, the concepts of PLAY, NATURE, COMMUNICATIONS, EXPLORATION, IMAGINATION, etc could work well in a new Epcot. I don't see where Guardians will fit here, but Space 220 works. I'm skeptical of how they will present the Play Pavilion as anything other than a space crammed with IP, but optimistic that the Moana Journey of Water (if presented thoughtfully) could speak to our relationship with the planet and also be an enjoyable walking bridge to The Land, The Seas, and Imag Pavilions. It's the difference between creating a Nemo ride-through that rehashes the movie and teaches nothing (what we got) versus using Nemo characters to explore marine science (what could have been). Time will tell if this new vision for Epcot resonates and has staying power, but I am at least pleased they are giving it a try. It's long past due...even if that means changing the area music and creating new attraction themes. Hopefully, we've just begun to dream.
"something had to be done"....why settle for "something"? This is DISNEY we're talking about, the company that used to lead the theme park industry with innovation and imagination, not half-baked ideas and band-aid fixes like we see today. Sure, nobody gets it right all the time and there will be duds that just never quite achieve what the imagineers set out to do, but this company lacks the courage today to try something bold like EPCOT Center. Too bad they didn't double down on the original mission and make the park even better instead of what we ended up with. Maybe if Disney had stayed out of Europe the money would have been there for EPCOT. By the way, your Nemo idea is spot on. Just imagine if Nemo's class had been traveling to Seabase Alpha and we got to travel with them! That said, the original preshow film was downright frightening and proves that Disney wasn't afraid of presenting, ah, "deep" ideas. Now it's all just fluffy IP nonsense laced with overpriced tapas and beer.
Thank you so much for the slide show! So many old Epcot music videos play the music to one or two pictures. I loved the ones of Image Works!! We spent many happy hours there and nothing they have done with that space has come close.
I remember that the EPCOT entrance loop used to have a version of Golden Dream that was particularly haunting. Pretty much all electronic, just pure tones. In fact, I did not even realize the first couple of trips that it was Golden Dream, but it was really good.
I 'finally' got around to watching this whole video...and my two favorite parts were the pics of Michael Jackson on Horizons...and him going through the Rainbow Tunnel...so...thanks for that. ;) I also was lucky enough to visit Epcot quite a few times when I was younger...and I definitely miss the old park. :(
I could use a day in EPCOT circa 1989-90 or so go ride Horizons and World of Motion, even though Reflections of Earth is still my favorite fireworks show
When Epcot was cool and not just another "Pretty Princess" park

@@ocalicreek Oh definitely, but still has that retro future vibe that I get from these themes.
First song is how we all need to wake up and start our day 🤣🤣🤓🤘
never grew up on this. love that muzak sound

XTheVideoGamerGirlX it's Journey into imagination with figment FYI
XTheVideoGamerGirlX Ellen is gone now
I love this EPCOT 😭😢🎶👏👏👏
There was -- they sold it in the EPCOT gift shop under Spaceship Earth.
you can purchase the record on eBay now or other third party websites. it hasn’t been sold at the parks for decades.
Well said and agreed!
Though EPCOT might never be able to find is roots that have been buried so deep into the Disney Park's history, I feel that there are still some gems to be found such as the new Test Track and Mission:Space
nice
Horizons was my favorite, followed by the behind the scenes tour of the land, world of motion, and spaceship earth
I wonder how many times I have listened to this in the past four years? I know it's been a lot. I keep coming back to it as it brings back so many great memories.
A lot of music here
Epcot Center used to be a great and spectacular place! Today is just another park with a mess of theming.
Miss this place.
Am delighted to have found this channel. I just adored EPCOT in its heyday. (Especially the Universe of Energy!)
Not to mention the amazing "Listen to the Land (Listen to the Land)"... man, do many memories!
Amazing... the true song i was looking for ir "Tomorrow's Child (Spaceship Earth)"!!!!!! I cant believe! Im so happy! Thank you!!!!
Was a child during this time & loved all the music & during the dark times I constantly listen to this. Knowing things always get better 😁
Epcot music is some of my favorite all time Disney park music
Went to Epcot as a kid guess you'd say we grew up together
Thank you SO much for putting this together! Brings me back to my favorite Epcot!
Seeing this brought back pleasant memories of my times visiting Epcot back in the 90's. Really miss those times!!!
I really miss the speaker that does the Epcot welcome in this video - it brings back the memories of those early days of Epcot and Walt Disney World.
Rick Kinney
It was a gentleman named Joe Harsh.
The intro music and script sounds so familiar. However, I can’t put my finger on where it played. Was this the monorail approach?
😂😊 good times
Epcot was cool, but, I'm a Magic Kingdom guy.
Love what you've done with the music editing but especially the photos. Truly fantastic!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed!
I miss the original Future World so much! Thank you for posting this! 💜
Horizons 😢
That opening welcome message...was that Bill Kurtis?? Sounds so familiar...
You took me down a rabbit hole with that question. I found that it's not him, but I also have yet to find out who it is.
Brings back Memories from my first visit bad in 1986.I’ll always remember this EPCOT Center. Will live in my Heart forever…
2:56 check out all the palm trees browned by one of those epic 1980's Florida freezes.
Didn't think this would hit me so hard. Wow. Thank you so much for this trip back in time. I can close my eyes and see every moment.
Man.. the wonders of life pavilion could’ve been something great.
@@galaxytoons4608 really? Pixar does NOT fit with Epcot at all
Great times exploring Epcot how it was in this video. The music is still awesome :)
Wonderful. Brings back so many childhood memories. I love it ❤️
This is great listening, I now recall I had a record album of this...had a major head injury on Disney property in 2005, lost most my memory before 2005, these tunes are bring back some lost memories! :)
Mickey B. Payne I had it on cassette. Hope u can recover your memories
Listening on 4/21/20, great mix, thanks for compiling!
I discovered this music video just yesterday (May 3rd, 2020) .... i was at Epcot on the third day that the park was open (Oct. 3rd, 1982) and it was very inspiring and positive. I really love the old original Epcot.
Just came across this… It’s FANTASTIC! Thank you for putting it together! Listening and reliving childhood memories!
Love this! Thank you so much for putting it together!
Amazing job, great compilation, thank you!!
EPCOT will be celebrating 40th anniversary on October 1st,2022.
This makes me sad that all these amazing attractions are now gone 😒
Thank you for this wonderful mix!
Epcot center and I got the same birthday
Thank you so much for the slide show! So many old Epcot music videos play the music to one or two pictures. I loved the ones of Image Works!! We spent many happy hours there and nothing they have done with that space has come close.
THANK YOU for posting this!!! So many great memories!
Thank you for this. This is great!
I've seen a lot of official Disney soundtracks but very few have music from the old and discontinued rides
I remember that the EPCOT entrance loop used to have a version of Golden Dream that was particularly haunting. Pretty much all electronic, just pure tones. In fact, I did not even realize the first couple of trips that it was Golden Dream, but it was really good.
THAT bit has stayed with me ever since my first visit in '83. Ethereal.
So magical and so many memories
Wow! Body wars was pretty trippy. Reminded me of Pink Floyd or Tangerine Dream. ha!
This is fantastic!
I really love this video the music is great for when I'm doing hw! I wish I had been able to see Epcot back then :)
You've put together some really awesome WDW music videos, really enjoying them!
Lets hope that horizons gets rebuilt in the future bigger and better than ever
Awesome compilation, it flows together so well!
I could use a day in EPCOT circa 1989-90 or so go ride Horizons and World of Motion, even though Reflections of Earth is still my favorite fireworks show
Yay my favorite video and soundtrack is back!
Simplemente fascinante!!! Gracias!😉
So Good while enjoying magical gummies....👍🏻
