My mother still has this and a couple other early 80’s Epcot soundtracks on vinyl. I grew up in central florida born in the late late 70’s child of the 80’s. Parents were DVC club members between field trips from school and just going all year long this gives me chills. My childhood is nothing but Epcot, Magic Kingdom, River Country memories.

I was there in 1982 and twice yearly until 2001 and I sure love and miss the original attractions. Thanks for the music. Love it. I know nothing is permanent but change but thanks for letting me reminisce.

This music perfectly captures the spirit and magic of Golden Age Epcot.
a New park Opens and Epcot is born. This was the beginning of Future World and World Showcase. Will never forget The Original Universe of Energy, Horizons, World of Motions, CommuniCore East and West. Original Spaceship Earth (Walter Cronkite), The Living Seas, The Land (Kitchen Cabaret), Journey into Imagination with Figment and Dream finder. Then Captain EO. Over to world showcase for something to eat. I wonder if i still have my Original guide from the mid 80's. Thanks for keeping the dream alive.

I remember buying this track on a LP under the ball in January 1983. Wore the thing out in no time; nice to hear it clean with no clicks or "wow".
This is still the detault that plays in my head after all these years!
I still miss the old Epcot music throughout the park
Epic Epcot music. More enjoyable then it seems
I miss original Future World. EPCOT was the first new Disney park to open during my lifetime and I was so obsessed! I got to go in 1986 and I'm so grateful I could experience it before everything changed. Sometimes I sit in front of the Land or hide in the Imagination bathrooms just to take in the last oldschool Future World music loops in situ.

I wish I could have a music CD with music from the 1980s Epcot attractions on it to listen to again I miss 1980s Epcot center

I love how this music transports me to Epcot. It's always nice to stop and listen to the background music, people watch, and take in the atmosphere!
With all of the changing coming to EPCOT, it's so wonderful to hear this music and remember the early days of EPCOT. I wish Disney would bring back the opening theme - always loved walking along to the music as I approached the entrance. Thanks for sharing this.

When I first saw the thumbnail of this music video from
the Original Epcot soundtrack, I truly believed I would be
bored out of my wits. However, I will admit that I have truly
erred in my judgement and have arrived with immense appreciation
at the uniquely whimsical properties that harken back to an age
where there still might have been a greater promise for a brighter future
from the realm of yesteryears. Thank you to whomever took
the extra time to post this wonderful composite of a musical journey
into what was the Experimental Prototype Community Of Tomorrow.

It's the facts . I have pictures from My 1st visit back in April of 1986 when I was 7 and a half with My Family .
I have always been wondering why Disney will not release this extensive music from the parks that would be the fitting soundtrack to My First Memories of Walt Disney World in general from way back then
and thank goodness for people like you .
A lot of times I wish I had the antennas that you have or had so that I can make the proper photo show of those memories .

It is the best Entrance music indeed.... and they should do well to get EPCOT back onto the vision imagined in this music.
One of all time favorite pieces of music from any Disney Park. I like how all the arrangements all have a different tone. The first one (Energy) accelerates the mood. The Second piece (Golden Dreams) has a mysterious sound. The third piece (Fun to be Free) has a optimistic feeling. The fourth piece (Listen to the Land) has a nice shift from minor to major. The fifth one (One Little Spark) has a very retro like it came from the 60s. The sixth one (Magic Journeys) is the tearjerker of the bunch, and finally (Universe of Energy) has an exciting climatic feel. One can almost tell a story in this order with all the tones coming at the right time.

Hi Josh- just found this original Epcot loop (miss the original Epcot so much!) I absolutely love it- the best!! I first discovered your channel in 2019 after our last visit to WDW (we live in Calif.), and we fell in love with the cool orchestration of the Disney themes that was playing inside our WDW resort room. After the pandemic, I discovered the livestreams you and Jenna (and Britt from Disneyland!) do, and they have cheered me up so much through many rough days. Thanks so very much for all you guys do!!

I've said it before, maybe not here, but I appreciate getting to hear what I missed, never coming to EPCOT before 2011. Also - do these pieces have names and if so is there a list?

Do you know if they will play it for another anniversary? I went to epcot in 2003 since I am from 98’ but oh how I wish I was there in the 80s & 90s. Hopefully one day I can hear it

I keep trying to analyze this music and reproduce it in Ableton for fun, but keep just getting lost and listening instead
Oh it's this one it's not so different than the new one because it mixes with the one we have now.
So I can recognize all but one of the movements of this from the original park. Just can't place the second to last one, but I have to assume that it is supposed to be "Tomorrow's Child" from Spaceship Earth since that seems to be the only opening day attraction song not represented, but I can't place any key parts to help me recognize it like I can the others. The Universe of Energy being represented at both the beginning and end with an arrangement of "Energy" and "Universe of Energy" respectively, "Golden Dream" from the American Adventure, "Fun to Be Free" from world of motion, "Listen to the Land" from Living with the Land, and finally "One Little Spark" from Journey into Imagination are all the parts I can recognize.
Can anyone confirm or correctly ID for the part I am having trouble recognizing?
Christopher Martin Do you mean Magic Journeys? The music starting around 18:40? It was the 3-D movie that was located in the Imagination Pavilion ‘Magic Eye’ Theater.
@@EpcotCenter1982 Okay, that's it... just wasn't registering for me because I didn't think the 3-D movie theater was ready on opening day (don't remember what the delay was or how close to being finished it was). Also seems odd that Spaceship Earth isn't represented in the entrance music. Just my thoughts.
Spaceship Earth didn’t receive Tomorrow’s Child until the 1986 update. Before that it was just a quiet, eerie instrumental throughout the attraction.

Christopher Martin Magic Journeys was open for opening day, being the only thing in the Imagination Pavilion that was. It seemed like a really cool show and I wish I could’ve been around to experience it, and everything else around it in Future World.

I've been wondering this for years... can ANYONE PLEASE find me the answer to this question....... WHAT is with the connection of the intro to Trickster's 1978 song "Let It Lie" to EPCOT???
WHY is it exactly the same intro? Where did it originate?
There was a Twitter discussion about this today. WDW teams borrowed from several different songs/artists, such as Trickster, ELO, Alan Parsons, etc. to create this theme. Not sure there was anything particularly unique about Trickster; just that the song fit.
@@dananddougworldcup Thank you very much! This is "ECT - Videos" on a different channel. I have a story behind how my question came to be. I grew up with one of those childhoods that spent every summer in Dusney. LOVE WDW all my life.
In my adult life, my best friend and I would often go to the record store and buy old vinyl records for $2 or less. Take them back home, have a few drinks, and we would sit and listen and review the old, more obscure albums just for fun.
We were probably half a case of beer down when "Let It Lie" played on our Trickster album and my life just stopped for a moment. My friend, at the time, had never been to WDW and didn't even know what Epcot was. I started freaking out with excitement and had to explain to him why I was so excited and everything.

+Kyle Hill In this case, that was the file name, so I'm assuming it came from some sort of master copy of the original loop.
