that's a super cool discovery! Makes sense, when you bounce it the process is to render the audio including the effect chain, all devices etc, so it'll logically be calculated through melodyne

Hmmm. Sorry, but both the Bitwig and Ableton way you showed are (imho) worse than using Abletons "open in editor" button :D Here's what i mean: "Ableton Preferences -> File/Folder -> Sample Editor -> Melodyne.exe. Then Double Click on Audio File to see it in detail view -> click "Edit" button." THIS is so so so so so much better than Bitwigs way. Sorry Bitwig, i love you, but in the area of "open in editor" you don't offer anything :D Coming from Ableton, i was hoping Bitwig would go an ever deeper route, and let us assign at least TWO editors! That would be so awesome, when using Melodyne and Izotope RX. You would then be able to choose which editor to open the audio with, with a shortcut. Imagine that. :D (ARA2 support would even top that of course).

I was in studio one for a year, loved some parts but others drove me nuts. I love grouping the Ableton/ Bitwig way as opposed to folders in S1. But I think S1 is is still awesome. I use both with the daw projects files

Let's say I have deleted just one vocal part in the melodyne window, this deleted part will become mute in the project, but now I want to record a new part and add only this new part to the melodyne window, along with the rest of the track that had already been detected. Isn't this possible using ARA? I can only do this in the old system with the "transfer" button.

How do you transfer the audio back to Ableton (as hopefully fast as with the ARA method)?
12 is NOT out the Beta you have to wait 12 wont be here till February or later so its smoke screen that disappoints you cause you cant get it unless you where early in the know like a few youtubers

hi, that's brilliant! Does that also work in Ableton 11? Because so far I didn't get the blobs to spread in Melodyne after freezing the track. They just keep being in one line and I can't work with them.
If it’s just a straight line in melodyne, check the algorithm in melodyne. Set it to melodic

Thank you for this. I mainly use Bitwig and this is handy for Melodyne. It didn't work with RePitch unfortunately.

Im a studio one user and trying to convert to bitwig for lower cpu consumption but I don't know how to use spectralayers without ARA. Any suggestions?

For the Logic folks, start Logic in Rosetta mode: Finder, Applications, right click Logic, get info, start in rosetta mode. ARA mode unlocked :)

This is hardly ARA, just a work around to make it less painful than it is. ARA in studio one is implemented like a beast. No freezing, no final edit etc and instant edit whenever with Melodyne on the track. A bit misleading imo.
very slow export times on Studio one unfortunately...did multiple tests and Ableton + logic are 5 Times faster with the same effects same Audio

Why buy one DAW when you can buy 2 DAWs and one of them have ARA integration.

I have Synth V, haven't even installed it, and was already stressing about it. Synth V has absolutely no good instructions on how to use the damn thing. If you know Japanese maybe their tutorials would help a bit but the visuals show a mouse flying around the screen by someone who knows how to fly and which prompts to fly over. I may have jumped the gun on that purchase. Impulse buying new stuff could be dangerous!

I wish I never had to do autotune or pitch correction to vocals on any DAW. It's one of the only parts of editing/mixing that I absolutely do not enjoy and never like the outcome. That being said, people want it sometimes and I just wish it were quicker when I'm hired for mixing. I use Wavestune 🤷🏻♂️ Haha
I hear ya, spent 2 years producing boy bands and tuning the shit out of their vocals 🤦♂️

A mí no me funciona la técnica de congelar y descongelar en Ableton con Melodyne. Al congelar parece pasar el audio a Melodyne rápidamente, pero al descongelar Melodyne no presenta ese audio hasta que pasa cierto tiempo. Así que tarda lo mismo que si traspaso el audio a Melodyne de la forma tradicional.
Ya encontraste la solución?
@@vugla536 No, lo que hice fué pasarme a Studio One, precisamente por el soporte de ARA 2, y estoy encantado con la DAW.
A mi igual, al descongelar queda Melodyne como tildado hasta que pasa justo el tiempo del audio a tratar, osea...otra alternativa es ir a Preferencias de Ableton y ponerlo como editor de audio y eso si lo hace en tiempo real!!!
@@franciscocano2397 Encontré la solución. Tienes que desactivar la segunda ventana en ableton. ¡No sé por qué, pero funciona! ¡Pruébalo!
