Back in 2015 I was planning to buy a 43k miled and lightly modified 5spd MT Evo X. I took it for a test drive and when I braked hard, the suspension would "ping" on rebound. Whatever, I'd fix that. I had to settle for my 2011 STI sedan w/ 28k miles, bone stock for more money than the EVO. As a result of me having the Subie, 4 friends ended up buying them. 3 VA WRX's and 1 GR8. All except the one with the 2021 VA had their motors replaced. They're all awesome modified cars. Now, don't get me wrong, I love my Subie! It's been my fun daily and is finally getting to the goal I've always had in mind but I always wonder how much different life would be for me and my friends, if I was able to buy the EVO X... Would they have EVOs? Or would they still have WRXs as that's the closest thing now that Mitsubishi no longer makes EVOs. Lackluster review, no mention of the amazing awd system, the power distribution compared to the joke awd you had previously in the older evos. The comfort and roomy interior compared to older evos. The superior engine efficiency to the 4g, weight distribution, 4b aluminium block has much better heat dissipation, iron block of the 4g has no benefits today, buy the time you run into block strength issues you need to build the motor for both, and a pair of $600 sleeves will make over 1000hp on the 4b while keeping the heat management benefits. Superior 5 speed transmission. So many missed strong points
I enjoyed the ralliart while the DCT was working. Once it started to show transmission related error messages, the love transformed into fear. These transmissions are notoriously unreliable. Doesn't matter how much you baby them, they will eventually fail one way or another. To fix these the "right way" it can cost you up to $10K with labor and shipping. More than what the car is worth. Never again will own another DCT equipped vehicle. Total waste of money and time.
I doubt that all the people who were responsible for the Lancer Evo are even still with Mitsubishi today. There are still cars with the Mitsubishi badge on them, but the company is not the same as it was 10-20 years ago. Even if they brought this car "back", it would probably just be a stupid crossover with the name Evolution on it and zero enthusiast appeal.
Not happening, no market, no more STi, and the wrx is probably gonna die soon. Instead they're gonna focus on their new fighter jet because its been about 80 years since they've made one. Yes, i know in japan they have the STi, but that's the STi S4 and its only appearance, suspension, and a little bit more power. No STi transmission, no manual because its a CVT, not a real STi.
Not really. I own a GSR. Your typical fluid changes are cheap. I’ve owned mine for over 4 years now and put more than 60k miles on it and it has been reliable. Like any other car, if something breaks, of course it’s going to be expensive.
But, sst is a real trash, have been owned 2 evo x, 1 gsr 1 Mr, sold the Mr really quick. The sst is not exciting when fully throttle, it’s really unreliable, and make the car heavier in front.
Well there will probably be plenty of ppl that never drove one saying it's not a real Evo... For those ones if you have not driven one "we don't need your opinion"😉 for those that will say 8 and 9 are better or last ...the 7th was the last one rallying under the Mitsubishi Ralliart team and after that Mitsubishi had WRC04 and WRC05 cars so even an 8 and 9( although built on 7th chase) are not a proper EVOs😅 X was built by the same team and most ppl that worked on the previous evolution and as Markus sad the looks maybe are not there but underneath it is the next Evolution. If somebody is more into the EVOs and its history the X was going to be a Galant. Normal NA Lancers are called Galant Fortis in Japan and Asian markets, there is no Lancer. X was going to be a Galant Evolution as a different chase and engine was used but as marketing and sales had the last call it kept the Lancer name. Even the "X" was added after as a bage only in the UK market to jump up the sales.
It will have to be a rebadged Sentra with a Renault tuned nissan engine, Renault transmissions, and Mitsubishi awd. And that’s only if they have the finances to make a vehicle. (Yet alone if they want to make it)
I don't think the EVO should be brought back. Why do I think this? 1. I will be very expensive. Most likely will cost $60k+ without dealer markups. But you know it will be marked up, putting it closer to $75k+. Nobody who is a true EVO fan, would want to spend that. 2. Due to its high price tag, Mitsubishi will limit the amount of them they make, making the car "rarer". And we all know when the word "rare" pops up, the average middle-class man will jump on it, garage it, and use it for purposes the car wasn't intended for...an investment opportunity. 3. It needs to be very good to compete with other AWD sporty vehicles, like the Golf R. The MK8 Golf R's performance is crazy good, and that's without it being tuned. If the EVO stays 4-cylinder turbo driven, that's the car it will need to compete with, and that will be tough. Toyota tried it with the GRC, but the GRC is literally more expensive and also worse in every single category compared to the MK8 Golf R. Epic fail. If the EVO goes inline-6 turbo, then it needs to compete with the Supra, M340i, M3/4, RS3, etc., and all of those cars are excellent, but expensive. 4. Buying an expensive Mitsubishi in today's world just doesn't make sense. People want sport cars that not only handle and are fast, but also reliable. Mitsubishi has never been a reliable car company.

The GR Corolla kind of replaced the Focus RS in my mind.. Both amazing cars.
So many missed strong points
exactly what I though!!
I would park it next to my x. I would order it on day 1.
10:35 why Sport mode when you could have used Super Sport mode?
This is the only car I drive.
You need to drive a evo x pushing north of 600 and a GSR...
We've got a couple lined up... coming soon.
Car is fcking handsome
Maintenance cost so high…
Not really. I own a GSR. Your typical fluid changes are cheap. I’ve owned mine for over 4 years now and put more than 60k miles on it and it has been reliable. Like any other car, if something breaks, of course it’s going to be expensive.
@@its.Andy1agreed… as long as one does their regular fluid changes.
But, sst is a real trash, have been owned 2 evo x, 1 gsr 1 Mr, sold the Mr really quick. The sst is not exciting when fully throttle, it’s really unreliable, and make the car heavier in front.
Drive the gsr 5speed more fair
Mitsubishi is disolving to Nissan at the end of this year, so I doubt you will get another lancer/evo period.
Mitsubishi doesn’t even engineer its own cars, how is it going to bring back a performance car that doesn’t even have a platform to build from.
It will have to be a rebadged Sentra with a Renault tuned nissan engine, Renault transmissions, and Mitsubishi awd. And that’s only if they have the finances to make a vehicle. (Yet alone if they want to make it)
No you don’t want the evo that’s coming. If the eclipse didn’t scare you this EV will
The GR Corolla is a counterfeit knock off EVO X 😂
Yes compromised in every way.
Rodriguez Patricia Clark Carol Lopez Jeffrey
I second that
no, not the mivec evo
Mitsubishi has failed hard, from its roots to now going to crossovers and electrics....what a let down
Didnt dodge bought mitsubishi?
Ummmm sorry to tell you this mate but evo x's have mechanical power steering lol
❤
No they never do
They are facing financial crisis
Probably would be electric or some shit
If they bring it back, they will pervert it. It would be electric or an SUV, or worse, an electric SUV.
If its an auto dont even bother
First view first like first comment
2002 is so proud of u
Nobody cares
Evo X’s are lame. Get a real Evo
you probably drive a scion tc
Congrats on making yourself look stupid on the Internet🎉🎉🎉
@NayteeD 😂😂😂 yes all none Evo owners say that 😂😂😂
@@NayteeD I uploaded videos of my scion for you on my page
@@NayteeD uploaded videos of my scion for you. If you comment on an evo video, when you don’t have an evo, replying to someone with an evo, does that mean you have the scion?
Lovely!🎉🎉
