I was lucky enough to be on the front row for one of his gigs, I'm also a soldier so I got the expected level of abuse at the start of the show. The best thing was, half way through the show, a good 30-40 minutes in, he spoke to a guy in the balcony who when asked what his job was, said he was a sniper. Al didn't miss a beat and told him a sniper wouldn't of given his position away then called on me by name to confirm he was talking shit. It isn't just how quick he is, its that he remembers every bit of information the crowd gives him and comes back to them at the perfect moment. 1 guy after the show actually asked me if I had been planted there by Al. Nope, mans just a legend.
He's a legit genius, his lectures are really good. Makes his character even better
Brilliant!
Great comment/story.
I'm Ex RAF and part of being in the Air force is being able to accept the piss being taken out of you from the Army & Navy personnel! Harmless banter, like what Al Murray dishes out! Absolutely love the man's S.O.H.
And
Bring Back National Service. It will sort out many problems in the U.K. and give A.M. some ammunition for future piss-taking.
100%. I saw him in Winchester in 2019 and he recognised a young lad from 2 years before and started riffing on the jokes he had told him then!
Have been in the front row of his gigs a couple of times - no extra charge for it and it’s hilarious. The entire first half was just chatting to the audience like this, no pre-scripted material until the second half and even then he linked back to those of us he’d talked to! The man’s memory is immense
As we all know he is a history teacher , he issued to remembering peoples names etc that’s part of why he is so good. Teacher and comedy 🎭 seems to mix well 😂
@@robertstrong6798 mixed well with Greg Davies but not so much with romesh ranganathan.
@@paulwalton1222 It's because he's Racist!
Romesh not Al Murray
@GAZB87YORKSHIRESALT plus he isn't funny. I dunno how romesh can be called a comedian. Never once made me laugh.
You seem to suss UK humour pretty easily.........many don't!
Al is an English/British gem. The thing is, you can watch the same show many times and just laugh and laugh. The Brits will and can and 'take the piss out of each other' all the time. It keeps our feet on the ground all the time.
Saw Al Murray live last year, front row tickets were extra expensive as the money for them was going to charity, don't know if that was a one off or the norm for his shows. I was amazed not only at how great his audience participation was but how he remembered everyone's names/jobs and kept coming back to them throughout the show. Best comedian I've seen live to date, in tears most of the show, absolute legend
I saw Al last October & spent large parts of the show hardly able to breathe properly because I was laughing so much, he really is superb at the audience interaction.
The O2 Arena holds up to 20,000 but when I saw him live it was in a small club with about 500 people there. That was in 2002 and he's still touring, with shows on at the moment. He finished his set back in 2002 with a quiz game, called Fact Hunt...which sounds tame until Al asked us all to shout out 'Fact Hunt' repeatedly, until it sounded like we were all shouting...well, something else at him!
Thank you so much buddy for appreciating the man, I am really impressed that you understand the Brit humour and i don’t mean any disrespect. I enjoyed watching you as much as Al, take care mate 👍
You seeing Al Murray live without the ability to pause the show would kill you.
Well it’s a RUclips reaction so he has to pause it or it’s basically a reupload of someone else’s video
@@sprinterofficial8457 that's not what he was saying at all.
He meant that being in the audience at a live show, not being able to take a break from laughing (unlike when watching a video) would kill Boomer.
"What do you do between meals... for a living?"
I've seen him live, I left the theatre with stomach ache from laughing so much. Yes he is a very clever guy and very patriotic.
I had a personal front row seat with Al Murray he was in the back as a london cabbie I was driving him home from the london studios to west london he was very quiet until the last part of journey when we saw a cyclest with planks of wood on his bike what a personal laugh with a comedy legend
Ive cycled with pieces of wood on my bike before. I zip tie them to the cross bar.
Boomer, kudos to you for getting this humour. You're an honorary Brit.
He has a fantastic knowledge of military history, did a great series about WW2 😊😊
When you watch comedians they sometimes can control a room
Our man can hold crowds with skill.
He has every single comeback in his back pocket and its as if its part of his show.
His altar ego The barman is so good.
His knowledge of Military History is amazing.Had many tv specials on WW2.
Saw Al in Glasgow in 2006. Some poor bloke in the front row was a male nurse. Al got all of us to stand up and point at him, while shouting ‘Shame on you’ at the guy. He was nearly in tears!!
For a laugh hopefully I'm sure 😮
Would they have shamed a doctor in a similar manner? A study, made in the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield and reported in the medical journal The Lancet, found nurses made fewer serious clinical errors than doctors, were better at recording medical histories, and patients treated by them were less likely to need follow-up advice.
@@bobblehat6603I'm a Doctor of Respiratory Physiology. I wholly respect our nurses and the work they do. But it's us Doctors who make the big decisions.
A male nurse in Glasgow sounds fishy to me 😂😂😂😂
Brilliant 😂😂😂
Most of his shows begin like this mate. Unfortunately you've only experienced tiny snippets previously which didn't give you anywhere near his best. I've seen this whole set its amazing. You should try and get the other 2 parts. 👍❤️
"Blue & Striped Shirt, it's like a barcode innit... like a barcode... Boop! - 'Twat!'"
Pausing here to catch a breath from laughing!
I love the bit of him vs the joy boys and him vs shrek n Fiona! Totally funny
My all-time favourite Al Murray routine is the "Secretary" sketch.....it's his trade-mark interaction with the front row....a "must see" for all lovers of the Pub Landlord....you will not be disappointed !
His memory for names of those on the front row that he roasts , is incredible, given that it’s different names every night…..he goes back to them sometimes 20 mins later and still remembers everyone……👍👌🇮🇲
His show reminds me when back in the 80's I saw Eric Sykes and Jimmy Edwards do a 2 mans show very similar to Al Murray. About 2 minutes into the show a couple arrived to take their seats. The pair noticed this, looked at each other then started the show again word for word. The audience laughed then settled again. Three minutes later another couple crept in to take their seats. Eric and Jimmy stop, look at each other, look at the audience, wait a beat then everyone bursts out laughing guessing what might happen. The hapless couple have no idea why they are the butt of so much laughter. Genius.
Your right the kid looked scared at first but later on he is clearly having fun 🤩
You are completely correct, Al Murray is a genius comedian.. I think the great British comedians you have reacted to should invite you over to publicly react to their shows !! You & the queen are by far the best reactors .. love wathing you both 😁😁👍👍👍
I seen him live in my town, phoning up China to ask for 3billion bullets and them asking why lol
The tickets should come with a warning,
"no one's safe" 😂
He's doing a 2024 tour... If you're lucky enough to get seats near the front you'll be a sitting duck 😂 he'll rag on you as soon as you tell him you're American...
This is the O2, England's premier entertainment venue, built to celebrate the Millenium.
Nice. Glad you're doing an Al Murray that includes the introduction. Usually you have to0 watch a full show (and there are many on youtube) to see the intros. The intros are often the best of his performance.
I love Al Murray. I’ve seen him live. What a lot of people don’t realise because he plays the character so well is how supremely posh he is. The past 3-4 generations of the men in his family including Al are all oxbridge and have senior army and clergy roles. He is from money. He hides it well. I once saw a documentary of him with hair talking about his favourite German composers.
Seeing Al Murray LIVE is such a FANTASTIC experience..... Your expectations WILL be surpassed ... He has a website for his tours
I saw him do the "Where's the fkin money!" live in the Brighton show around that time, he climbed across the top of about 10 rows of chairs right to the middle of the audience to take 20 quid from a bloke who said he was a banker and call him a wanker
This is how he gets to know everyone in the audience..... legend 🇬🇧
I'm pleased you Americans enjoy British humour. We are lucky to have Al Murray that's for sure.
Went to see Al Murray in Bournemouth many years ago, was around 2009 (might have been this tour actually). His rant about the 2012 Olympics was fantastic 😂
I saw Al at the O2 but this is total genius, thanks for it.
Al Murray is the cream of the crop in the comedy scene! He’s top of my list! The blokes a genius and a genuine decent bloke outside of playing his pub landlord character. Genius of a man!
That was brilliant, just love our stand up comedians, nothings off limit with em and that's what makes em the best also your reactions are great.
Was at one of the earlier stops on this tour, he was ripping into everyone. An old couple up on the balcony, people 10 rows back, there was no safe seat.
Great night
The 02 holds 20'000 for shows like this, so yeah not a bad crowd
Britain bailed out the Bank of Ireland in 2009 (£4 Billion+) when the shit hit the subprime fan - mainly because most British banks (which were also bailed out in 2009 to the tune of £200 to £500 Billion (no one really knows to this day) had all invested in the Bank of Ireland's shitty subprime "investments" too, which actually turned out to be even more toxic than the subprime shit on their own books.
The Pub Landlord knows everything, and we were all still very fucking angry about the whole stitch up at the time this was recorded. He knew his audience.
Me and my mate went to see Al Murray at the Albert Halls here in Bolton in 2011. Thankfully, we sat right at the back. He got a woman up on stage and got and got her to pretend he was a shark and she was his prey (or something along those lines). So he ended up chasing her around the audience and they ended up running right past me and my mate way on high at the back.
That lad isn't terrified, I'm sure he's loving it
Fantastic video. Very funny guy. ...#kingboomer For reference, 118'dia is reference to the old English 'Directory Enquiries' line (to get phone numbers) + the fact that such call centres are now based in India.
And the Peru + bear reference relates to Paddington Bear coming from 'deepest, darkest Peru'.
Keep making these great reaction videos!! Utterly enjoy them.
Al Murray, Mickey Flanagan and Rhod Gilbert are the 3 best standup in the UK.
Love an Al Murray video . Your reactions always make it even funnier .
Love this video and your reaction. This was just what I needed to make me smile and laugh out loud, thanks
ha king, you need to watch all of the 02 tour. absolutely brilliant.
He is also one of my favourite comedians. He has a true gift. I agree this is the best Al Murray clip I’ve seen. Will have to find a recording of the full show.
Al Murray can work the crowd like no one else.
But Freddie Starr was the original GOAT at this technique.
I always love watching your reactions, especially today as I got my tattoo done, something to take my mind off the pain was definitely needed. 😊
King Boomer tat ?
Boomer you made my day..been off work after my first chemo .was feeling down.cheers mate. Best wishes from m England
Wishing you the very best...
I watched this when al did it,I watched it with you the day you put it out,now its come up again with you,its my absolute favourite reaction of yours KB,thank you mate
You have to do more of these videos because he always takes the piss out of the front row at the start of his shows.
The O2 Arena (formerly known as The Millennium Dome) in London holds approximately 15,000 muppets.
Kermit, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Animal..... no you'll have to help me with the other 14,996. 😊
Yep I’ll bet the front row seats are highly prised ❤ people love to have the piss take out of em 🤣🤣
You don't need an American version of Al Murray, just become British and he's yours
first part of his shows is getting to know some audience members ready for later on when he gets on to his topics he then knows which audience members to to have another go at. it always amazes me how he remembers their names
Thanks man, I needed this.
Lol, got to love Al Murray, (The Pub Landlord ) without doubt we Brits have the best comedians!
Because in England we mostly insult people we like, our family and friends, when comedians overtly insult the audience then they assume the position of friend, when it happens we just want to sink into the floor and die but also we laugh because that is what we would say if we had the chance to say it to someone else.
That place he's playing in, the O2 Arena, is huge. It's covered by a structure called the Millennium Dome which was opened at the start of the new millennium. Al Murray is wonderful :D
I've seen Al at our local theatre and if you want front row tickets you just have to be first when they go on sale. Not priced any higher than for the rest of that seating section.
He is always brilliant. 😀
Edit: At one performance he was running around the auditorium with a teenager in tow, this included through and over the rows of seats.
I think it was something to do with swimming like a shark, but I may be wrong about that.
The O2 is what the Millennium dome was. The big giant dome like thing next to the river Thames in Greenwich, London.
Love your videos mate, keep up the great work
Al is a superb actor too. I just hear him in a radio play of Pygmalion. He played Dolittle. He was superb.
I saw two Al Murry shows back to back in Edinburgh a few years ago and amazingly though the basic structure was the same pretty much both 2hr gigs were totally different! Amazing adaptability.
i saw al murry live in 97, my 2 mates was wearing white baseball caps, we sat about 10 rows back and as soon as he saw the 2 white caps he proper ripped them, it was amazing to see
Sat at the front no extra - just bought the tickets early. He asked what i did for a living I said bugger all and he left me alone!
Awesome mate, I’d love to see him live, thanks 🙏
I saw Al Murray at the Liverpool Empire.
I booked a seat in row F (a was front). I won’t get any closer!
Al Murray is an intellectual and comedic genius. Absolutely one of the best because of his vast knowledge of stuff. I love him in Taskmaster which I'm sure you have on your watchlist.
biggest mistake i ever made was buying front row tickets to see Al Murray...... haha
I'm literally crying with laughter, I'm with you this is the best AM I've seen. Painfully funny,
Bank of Ireland used to operate the UK post office banking services, which is probably why he worked for Bank of Ireland but was British, we also have (or had) bank of Scotland branches in England too.
The Bank of Ireland has never been British.
@@thomasreilly6362 I meant the guy who worked for bank of Ireland was British.
Love your stuff. Always a "go to" for me.
He's a legend in England
Your reactions are the most enjoyable to watch of any I've seen. Genuine enjoyment there.
I have a friend who is a teacher who went to an Al Murray show , he was asked while in the que outside of the venue if he would like to be in the front row 😂😂😂 Al took him to pieces 😂😂😂😂
Guessing your friend didn't teach you to spell? As Manuel in Fawlty Towers would say..."Que"? 😉
If you do come over to the UK consider visiting Southport in Merseyside. There is the Southport Comedy Festival here in October that lasts for two weeks. Last year Al Murray was one of the acts as part of his Gig for Victory tour. Incidentally it's also the birth town Lee Mack and also Miranda Richardson, Queenie in the second series of Blackadder . It's an ideal location for visiting Liverpool.
I sunk when it suddenly ended. Al is hilarious 🤣
The Pub Landlord was on top form here 🍺🍺🍺
The second he said Muppet show of a front row i new you would love this clip😁
Love abit of Al Murray, fantastic standup comedy by one of the best 🧑🦲👍
We have a really strange quirk in the UK - you don't need to be Irish to work in the Bank Of Ireland!!! What an amazing concept! 🤣
I was at a pub landlord gig and there was a young lad about 12 in the front row - he kept giving Al as much back as he got - it was great.
Seen him 5 times already. Going again next year. Brilliant !
Ide pay extra not to be in the front row
You pay extra to be at the front.
Your best option is to pay less.
I'd*
Best place to be at an al Murray show seen him multiple times and been picked on everytime
I love Al Murray. One of the greatest of all time.
If he did that in the US he would be sued by at least 6 people on the front row 😂😂
Al Murray is very intelligent, each show is different and laced into the people he speaks to
Fantastic clip, Love Al Murray, so unique. Please can you react to the UK show Facejacker, one of my favourite reality clip shows in recent years. A good one to start on would be "Dufrais At The Baseball Game | Facejacker " (the 8.47 minute clip) then maybe "Brian Badonde Takes A Painting Class | Facejacker ".
You wont regret checking out this show Kingboomer.
Nor forgetting Terry Tibbs!!!
@@vilebrequin6923 "talk to Terry"
Newcastle, Northeast England here. I love your laugh, it’s the bloody best 🤣🤣🤣👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I'm not far in Gateshead. I love this video clip
I used to go to live comedy alot during the 90's one club in particular, The Red Rose in North London. It was being refurbished once so the club moved to a pub. I went with my Missus one Saturday and before the show Al was serving behind the bar before he went on 😊. He was as funny then as he is now although he doesn't play live so much these days. I do hope you get to see him one day though mate and I loved your reaction to the video 👍😊.
The O2has 20,000 seats. Don’t go to the upper tiers if you suffer from vertigo
I know Al is a huge Genesis fan and you can see with the crisps he uses Phil Collins explanation of the domino effect before playing Domino at their live stadium shows. “Over there, down here, over there, at the back……….”
I thought I was the only one to notice that!!!
Seen him 3 times, brilliant
We love this kind of humour…the standard greeting amongst friends is deeply offensive abuse.
We worry people don’t like us if they are polite!
There is no extra charge for the front row. I would usually avoid it myself. Although was tricked into centre front row with Jimmy Carr. Luckily, we came to an understanding. And had no contact. And it was funny!!
The great thing he remembers everyone he picks out of the audience and revisits them.
