AFTER ONE YEAR of writing to each other via a prison pen pal service, Bleu and Jay decided to tie the knot. The pair were first introduced by Bleu's friend, who had been writing to another inmate living in the same pod as Jay. At first, Bleu was skeptical. "I didn't grow up as a little girl and be like, Oh, I want to be with an inmate. Like, that sounds so cool," Bleu said. "So when they introduced us, I was not for it. And we ended up falling in love." After getting married in secret, Bleu gave her parents the news over the phone - and it didn't go down well. "My biggest regret when getting married was the fact that my parents weren't there," Bleu added. "I told them over the phone because I was scared of looking them in the eye and seeing the disappointment in my dad's face." Now the couple are planning and dreaming about their future together in the hope of Jay getting released once he's eligible for parole - in four years' time. Bleu's decision to stay with Jay has been met with a lot of criticism, from close family to strangers online. Bleu said: "Yes, I know my relationship is a little unconventional, considering where my husband is. I know where the stereotypes that come in with it lie. But ultimately, I love him genuinely, and I know he loves me just as much, if not more."

She is having her fairytale, and it's making her happy. Nothing they plan to do together when he gets out will actually happen, but it's probably nice to live the fantasy. He is also giving her confidence, which can help her when she eventually meets the man who will be her real s/o. If she wants children, she hopefully won't wait too long to find her real s/o.
Not if he breaks her heart, if anything it could end up really damaging her, not to mention she has no idea if he is still dangerous and violent.

The other crazy part is he’s only done 11yrs of his 30yr sentence and they are hoping he gets released in 4 years… LAWD…. Being a “big girl” isn’t the reason for every negative thing in life.
I have a homegirl who dated a guy who was in jail for 7 years BUT! When he got locked up she told him, I ain’t holding nobody down plus they were only just getting to know each other. He agreed and said yes definitely go and live your life. When he got out, he came and found her and they are LITERALLY living happily ever after as we speak. I knew he was a stand up dude when he expressed the unfairness in her waiting for him and how this was his poor decision and burden to bear. They are the cutest couple ever and he came straight home and got on his grind. This is the ONLY circumstance in which I felt a prison relationship worked out because he CHOSE her when his options were limited and when he had all the options in the world and because while he was in prison there was no relationship 🤣. But much love to this young lady. ❤ I hope it works out for her. 😬
A real man wouldn’t have risked going to prison in the first place. Because 7 years is not a first time offense.

Fathers, treat your daughters like gold. My dad never ONCE told me I was pretty, smart, talented etc etc. Hated giving me hugs. So, I had daddy issues. Fell hard for a wannabee thug who conveniently hid his past from me. Ended up escaping from his abuse with a then 6 week old baby. 7 years afterwards, he's serving a 13 year sentence for attempted murder 🙄

This is what happens when your self-esteem is crushed. You will accept anything and jump at any opportunity, no matter how terrible it is. This guy "loves" you and thinks you're "beautiful". Of course he does. What options does he have? With the prison mentality, of course he's going to say all the right things and jump at any opportunity. It's not like he has options and you were the best one. He has NO options, and you are the ONLY one. So, yea, he's in "love" with you. I'd like to see him keep this same energy when he gets back on his feet AFTER getting out and I'd like to see your reaction when he doesn't.
Well, at least she is standing ten toes down in her decision. She seems like the type that almost prefers to be in the relationship while they're in jail instead of free. There's a feeling you get from the fairytale and imagination of "When he comes home" versus the reality of he actually had 20 other girls (and probably some guys) he was finessing the whole time and his real ride or die is who he's going with when he gets out.
I kind of understand the allure after watching this. She probably feels like she has someone without having to live with him and have him all up in her business.

I watched my sister fall into this trap. Her daughter's dad went to prison, showered her with affection and made every promise under the sun. Came home, was sleeping around with two different women within a month. It's prison talk, nothing more.

You can still get 30 years + for marijuana in certain states, someone is serving 245 years for three ounces of marijuana I believe
We have a for profit prison system that relies on prisoners stay prisoners and some judges have lost their jobs because they were giving super harsh sentences to people because they were paid by the companies running these prisons.

My cousin is a felon chaser. Every dude she has ever been with was doing time and on parole. She joined the last couple of exes in crime and is in that cycle. Half of them dudes were gay for the stay but she was during her last prison bid too.

I once dated a guy who had been to prison, because he had a long history of opiate addiction. I didn't know anything about addiction so I really believed him when he said he had changed his life. Ironically, he was the nicest guy I ever dated. We broke up because he relapsed.

I can tell you from someone who had their husband and father of their then 2 yr old child go to prison for 3 years that being a prison wife is WAY HARDER when you actually had a relationship and life with that person (and a kid) opposed to meeting them while they were in prison and living a fantasy life. And it’s way different when they come home too.

Me and my wife have been watching true crime reality shows for decades now, and we have also seen many of the same types of shows based in and around prisons. These types of stories playout the same way each and every time, and the prisoner is only invested so long as his options are limited. It's always sad that these women see themselves as such low alternatives, that this seems the only way to find love. I can't say it's wrong, as both sides seem to get something from the other, but I have yet to see one of these relationships last in any meaningful way. All I can do is wish them well, and hope they will be the one exception to these rules.
True. I worked with half way house guys that have had both prison and jail time.
They said guys who are in prison for a couple of years find girls to pass the time and they can get some stuff sent to them and keep their bank accounts full so they can buy stuff. They don't do it for love unfortunately

@@aniafish The First 48 hrs, The Forensic Files, Detective Joe Kenda, Trace Evidence: The Case Files of Dr. Henry Lee, 20/20, To Catch A Predator, Etc. The prison shows I haven't watched regularly in years, but normally you'll get recommendations based on watching some of the shows I've listed.

@dixieshelton6804 depends. They met guys that had a small picture of their girl and kids and tried hard to stay on good behavior to get back to them as soon as possible. They heard controlling guys say their girl was cheating on him and he is going to beat the crap out of her and the cheater when he gets out, and others who don't give a crap about their girl except if they will give them money for commissary.
I just know if they met someone in prison it was most likely they were using the person for money and bragging status how they were using them.
This is just what they told me about prison life and the guys that usually inhabit it. They have each been to different prisons. One guy was in prison in a few different states and spent around 12 years in jail or prison. The other guy was only in jail 1 year and prison 3. They were both offered the halfway house and the guy who spent more time in prison was sent back while I was working with him because he was caught selling drugs.
How do we maintain our relationship so well.

I love her ! I found her on tik tok originally because of her amazing weight loss journey then I found about her being married to an inmate and had to follow her ! She seems so sweet and she’s so pretty and her voice is so cute. I saw her on Snapchat this morning and almost screamed. I’m so happy for her. I don’t know why people are putting all these false assumptions in her head. Have there been people in unfortunate situations like hers? Yes , but y’all don’t know her husband’s heart. We all make mistakes. You don’t know what kind of people he could’ve met or what kind of experiences he could have had in the last 11 years while being locked up. It's supposed to make us think, to take a step back, be more open-minded and accepting of other people's differences to our own, whether it's sexual preferences, gender identity, different lifestyles, etc. However, some people (lol ok prob most people, let's be honest), will always be judgy. I loved this episode, and I agree that this lady is very brave, sweet, genuine, down-to-earth, and I hope she and her hubby have a long, happy, healthy life together! 🙏🫶❤️

I can tell be his tone of voice and what he said that he is using her. He’s saying what she wants to hear. He doesn’t have any real plans in life for himself and definitely doesn’t have plans with her, but to temporary live with her then dump her. That’s if he gets out of jail.
She can take it from a girl who was just friends with a guy in prison. He called me when he was in prison but as soon as he got out the calls stopped and now he don't even message me on fb. N again we were JUST FRIENDS so imagine what that man is going to do when he gets out. Smh 😂😅

I guess its easier for her to have a part time relationship where you don't argue about bills, employment, keeping the house clean and dealing with someone's moods on a daily basis. She never has to worry about where he is and who he is with. The rules they created are great and im sure they are working fine because they don't have a day in day out relationship, they never go to bed mad? Cute, but real relationships are not always easy. Hes got it made, shes supporting him and has a guaranteed place to go if hes released. He was actually charged with murder so i doubt he goes in front of the parole board anytime soon. This says alot about how she feels about herself. No confident secure woman would settle for a wedding over the phone and waiting for his parole to begin her life.
She sounds smart, in touch with reality, reasonable, and understands the situation.

I’m married to an inmate too. You gotta not listen to haters. It is what it is. I’m not desperate or under deluded thoughts . There is a chance it may fail. It’s not romantic it’s a hard life. If we divorce I will never deal with anyone in prison again.
I'm also dealing with a man in prison & we've been together for 5years..said to say that I met him in prison & im not the stactics that they say about women that are dealing with men in prison

People always think its low self-esteem. I'm good looking, own a house have a good career. I'm solid in myself. I just happen to fall in love with someone in prison, a human being. not what i planned but here we are. life is weird. Better than my 19 year previous marriage. I love his family, great people. his parents are still married, he has always been close to his family. sometimes people in prison are just that, people.
@rachelvaughn60 I can relate to u on this because my man is also in prison & I am a well put together woman. Society has put a stigma on women that fall in love with guys in prison & it's not true. How long does your man has?

Im pretty sure she's his sugar momma. Once he's released, he'll forget about her, which is the sad truth. She's desperate for some guy to want her, that she's agreed to marry an inmate whose using her. My brother in law did this with some girl. I told her to leave him, but she was "in love" and allowed herself to be used. 🤷♀️

Aside from all the negatives, she's actually so adorable to me. She gives such feminine energy; her voice, her cute face/smile & mannerisms ❤ But like a lot of us, she just has some deep internal issues to work on because she does deserve something good.
