I have that weird vibe from local Asian Australian but it is often confusing because I can see at least 3 layers of Asian around here.
With the "go back to X" stuff it is really iritating actually.
sometimes the local thinks I cannot even speak english or to act certain righteous way.
most Chinese students here are sometimes misunderstood, mostly like nerds that does not socialize much.
then there are some Asian from US that are around here they just do their own stuff.
few weeks ago an Asian local trying to lecture me about taking picture of strangers on the street and he act agressively. younger Asian dude who have no respect to older Asian uncle like me 😅 - he thinks I am a weirdo

That family guy episode where God declares that all Asians hate each other is absolutely true. I actually got into a fight at a Walmart with another Asian because he had bumped his cart into my mom without apologizing. And the week before I got into a shouting match with another Asian because my brother was dropping me off to collect take out sushi and the a younger Asian driver behind me honked at us very aggressively. Asians fighting Asians is a fact of life where I live. This is why it is hard for Asians to be united. Our inability to mobilize collectively for a cause hurts us.

But Europeans (white Americans) can hate each other too. The Anglo-Saxons in the 19th and early 20th centuries humiliated the Irish, despised Italians and Poles, and treated Jews like blacks. It is not uncommon for Asians to get into an argument with other Asians, or Chinese with other Chinese for that matter. Another factor here is that a group may tend to treat an outsider better due to hospitality traditions, but such hospitality is not expected between members of the same group. This is like the 'don't air your dirty laundry outside' analogy. Simultaneously, if the group were to be harmed by an outsider, tradition also shows that the group will band together against the outsider.

I feel like this is definitely a New York thing.
But yeah I mean you even see this in white populations around the turn of the century with discrimination towards European jews, Irish, Polish, and Italians.
Where you had a large portion of Americans even into the 1950s refusing to hire the Irish. Personally we’re all better off if we stop thinking about things in terms of race and start looking at things from a stand point of ethnicity. And stop blaming people for the actions of their former governments. (I wrote this prior to your reading of the comments, I’m glad you spoke about it. Tho the racial discrimination towards the Irish was deeper than most people know.)
You can see this best with American Jews (it’s also a racial ethnicity) where certain white people would exclude them and use racial discrimination towards them. Where as other people would treat them as tho their white.

It is not only Asians but all kinds of people - almost everybody - have become strained on nervious system, as ages progress these days. It is due to too many people are coming to this world, with limited resources. World is over crowded almost 8 times over its capacity and people are feeling it and subconsciously frustrated. If we go in this temper of growth, we are bound to collapse within 2 hundred years. It is not a joke scenario already, however, not major organizations are concerned, except few experts in the fields, although they expressed their findings . . . but who cares.

Yes, being segregating does exist within the same community by way of cultural gaps. ABC’s and FOB’s usually have problems getting along, as well as a Token Asian meeting another Token Asian. I live in Toronto, Canada, another big city in North America. It’s true that Koreans make a lot of effort to assimilate at least when it comes to obeying the law. But Koreans are also frustrated that they cannot handle things the way they want, like getting into physical fights without fear of being sued.
My husband (Korean) is often very frustrated with people on the road and it’s usually with other Asian people. Koreans not liking Chinese is very real in more areas than just class and politics. I try to tell my husband, “dude you were once a new driver here too, have some patience” but tbh it’s hard for many Koreans to have patience.

What she should have done os put her turn signal and get close to the parking spot as possible or even completely block it to prevent anyone else from trying to take it. Then let the other people go by.
