My grandma had 13 biological children and would also take in children that needed homes. They would take in friends of the family, if they didn’t have a place to stay. The kitchen table was so long and everyone sat on this long bench on each side. There was always a seat at the table for anyone who wanted to come eat. My grandma would make a huge southern breakfast every morning. Grandkids, friends and family would all gather around eating breakfast. This was before cell phones so, people actually looked at each other and talked in person.
That's awesome. I don't know if your grandma is still with us on Earth, but she sounds like a sweet person.The world needs more people like her. I've always wished I had such a loving, supporting person like your grandma, in my life growing up, but even though I didn't have that in my life when I was young, I realized I could be that person that I always wanted. I don't have kids, but my sister's children have shown me what unconditional love is and I love them as if they were my own.
I’m disabled. When I was 4 I had a brain hemrage it made me slow. I also got really bad migraines so in primary school like year 2 up to 6 if it was too loud I’d ball up cause noise terrified me. I would not survive in that environment. I’m much better know but sometimes I cringe when it’s too much for me.
I am all for having a ton of kids but you need to be stable enough to raise them. I hope they are all happy and have the best, safest, healthiest lives.

Idk if you were implying that having EBT indicates a family isn't stable, but like the other person said, the threshold can be high and having food assistance does not automatically equate to not being stable as a whole, they live in a lovely home and seem to have all of their needs met🙂
For those asking about the dads, she started having kids when she was 15 had the first 3 with that guy then the rest with her husband she just divorced (while pregnant). The daughter is still with her baby’s dad but they value privacy especially when it comes to their child.
To put it in perspective, I’m 53, been married 33 years, we have 4 kids…. Oldest is 32 youngest just turned 20….. I was just reminding my daughter on her birthday (age 30) about my childhood best friend…. She got pregnant and had a baby boy at just 16, she was actually 15 when she got pregnant but 16 when she had the baby…. I was her only friend that stuck around…well 16 years later her baby boy also got a girl pregnant, so she became a grandmother at just 32….. I was pregnant with our last baby at the same time, 20 years ago Anyways, I was just telling my daughter, “you better hurry up with the babies…. (Insert my friends name here) was almost a grandma by the time she was your age” 😬😐😜…… of course I kid, I kid…. I was just being silly…. But I’m still not a grandma yet at age 53….. it’s insane to think about being a grandma at 32…. Insane..20 years later and it still boggles my mind….

Idk how I feel about this how will she be able to give them all the same amount of attention? How will she afford their college tuitions? Most large families I know the older children are forced into parental roles and look after their younger siblings than focus on their own childhood. I had three siblings and got no attention, no extra curricular activities, no birthday parties . We went three months with no hot water or electricity, Very little food. I am so sad for these kids as I know how horrible just a fraction of this can be. We are not rodents, the more children the less resources. And if you are on government assistance you really shouldn't be having kids you cannot pay for.
It really depends on the family when it comes to activities etc, you just weren't lucky. As for government assitance, everybody is assisted in one way or another, so I don't see the problem here.

She should be encouraging kids to experience life before having babies. These videos glorify teen parenting. To a young teenage girl trying to get pregnant to keep a guy, or trying to get pregnant so someone will love her, these videos look like teen parenting is great. A family full of love, doing quite well for themselves, etc. While that's great when a teen parent rises above poverty and makes a great life for themselves, that is often NOT the case.

A couple things I’m genuinely curious about - Where’s the dad? , how old is the daughter that got pregnant? How did your mind deal with the time usage adjustment because I’m guessing you have very little time with no noise in your head. Also I think people are mostly genuinely curious when they ask you some questions about your big family, though they may have some sort of judgment feeling. I think it best to be peaceful and try to understand because just like you they are in need of genuine people who love them. I taught very young kids for years and the love they can give you is amazing. I hope one day I have that same love for more and more people because a lot of people’s hearts have hardened and grown cold because of some things in life. So like Jesus I can love those that don’t love me in order to help them brighten up. :)

This is probably only duable in USA and some other countries here in Balkans we have a very low birth rate but thats because average wage here is 190 euros a month When i was 9 i remember i visitied my friend(who is a girl) house and it was family of 9(patents and 7 children) and THEY ALL LIVED IN 1 SINGLE ROOM about 8 square meters big,YES...NO KITCHEN OR ANY OTHER ROOM NOT EVEN A BATHROOM(it was apartment on outsde part of the building so there was a public restroom 1 minute walk fron there) Me being a curious 9 year old i actually asked them how they all sleep in there and how do they eat,(they only had 2 single person beds btw) and they said that 9yr old(my friend) and 7 year old sleep in those beds,parents take the matress on floor and squeeze on it with their 7th child(1 yr old baby) 11 and 13 yr old daughters sleep on a floor and 15 and 17yr old daughters stay in neighour or friends houses cause there is no space,and cause they dont have a kitchen they either order food or pay neighours to make home made meels,and parents said they did have so many children cause when u have love nothing else matters(Oh and btw that worked so great that 17 yr old moved away with her 15 yr old sister 2 months after i was there,and social services also threatened to take their 13 yr old and 11yr old daughters unless they find a bigger place which they actually did later on)If u have resources u can have 30 kids as long as i care but if u cant give a multiple kids a basic living conditions then dobt have that many kids

3 hours to make dinner??? We are a family with 10 and it has NEVER taken 3 hours unless its a Thanksgiving kind of meal and we eat home cooked meals every night. Also, there is absolutely nothing wrong with getting assistance and i believe she didn't have them to get it but.....if you get food stamps, then you also get all kinds of other assistance. Saying that just having them to get food assistance doesnt make up for all the other things just isnt true. Food is the one thing that required the lowest income level, so if you get that, you will get all other assistance like WIC, insurance, housing, and possibly tanif. Anyway, nothing wrong if assistance is needed, but why have more if you are already on it.

Most large families I know the older children are forced into parental roles and look after their younger siblings than focus on their own childhood. Very true. My grandma was the oldest of 14 and her younger siblings called her "mom" sometimes. All she did was take care of the kids and her parents and got married late in life. I know this is just one case but I thought I would add my comment since my family has a similar experience to what you expressed.

I had three siblings and got no attention, no extra curricular activities, no birthday parties . We went three months with no hot water or electricity, Very little food. I am so sad for these kids as I know how horrible just a fraction of this can be. We are not rodents, the more children the less resources. And if you are on government assistance you really shouldn't be having kids you cannot pay for.
It really depends on the family when it comes to activities etc, you just weren't lucky. As for government assitance, everybody is assisted in one way or another, so I don't see the problem here.

But I think there is a fundamental issue here, she had her first at 14 so who knows what kind of environment she grew up in. She should be encouraging kids to experience life before having babies. These videos glorify teen parenting. To a young teenage girl trying to get pregnant to keep a guy, or trying to get pregnant so someone will love her, these videos look like teen parenting is great. A family full of love, doing quite well for themselves, etc. While that's great when a teen parent rises above poverty and makes a great life for themselves, that is often NOT the case.

A couple things I’m genuinely curious about - Where’s the dad? , how old is the daughter that got pregnant? How did your mind deal with the time usage adjustment because I’m guessing you have very little time with no noise in your head.
Also I think people are mostly genuinely curious when they ask you some questions about your big family, though they may have some sort of judgment feeling. I think it best to be peaceful and try to understand because just like you they are in need of genuine people who love them. I taught very young kids for years and the love they can give you is amazing. I hope one day I have that same love for more and more people because a lot of people’s hearts have hardened and grown cold because of some things in life. So like Jesus I can love those that don’t love me in order to help them brighten up. :)

I personally I love this family I've been following her on Tik-Tok and Instagram for a while. I found them interesting because I myself was an only child and for her family there 16 of them. He will always have somebody to talk to and always have someone to keep company.

When i was 9 i remember i visitied my friend(who is a girl) house and it was family of 9(patents and 7 children) and THEY ALL LIVED IN 1 SINGLE ROOM about 8 square meters big,YES...NO KITCHEN OR ANY OTHER ROOM NOT EVEN A BATHROOM(it was apartment on outsde part of the building so there was a public restroom 1 minute walk fron there)
Me being a curious 9 year old i actually asked them how they all sleep in there and how do they eat,(they only had 2 single person beds btw) and they said that 9yr old(my friend) and 7 year old sleep in those beds,parents take the matress on floor and squeeze on it with their 7th child(1 yr old baby) 11 and 13 yr old daughters sleep on a floor and 15 and 17yr old daughters stay in neighour or friends houses cause there is no space,and cause they dont have a kitchen they either order food or pay neighours to make home made meels,and parents said they did have so many children cause when u have love nothing else matters(Oh and btw that worked so great that 17 yr old moved away with her 15 yr old sister 2 months after i was there,and social services also threatened to take their 13 yr old and 11yr old daughters unless they find a bigger place which they actually did later on)If u have resources u can have 30 kids as long as i care but if u cant give a multiple kids a basic living conditions then dobt have that many kids

3 hours to make dinner??? We are a family with 10 and it has NEVER taken 3 hours unless its a Thanksgiving kind of meal and we eat home cooked meals every night. Also, there is absolutely nothing wrong with getting assistance and i believe she didn't have them to get it but.....if you get food stamps, then you also get all kinds of other assistance. Saying that just having them to get food assistance doesnt make up for all the other things just isnt true. Food is the one thing that required the lowest income level, so if you get that, you will get all other assistance like WIC, insurance, housing, and possibly tanif. Anyway, nothing wrong if assistance is needed, but why have more if you are already on it.
