Here in Florida, so many people have planted pathos in their yard long ago, and they've climbed up trees and gotten so much light and climbed so much, they've actually developed fenestrations like a deliciosa.
How about ficus pumila, creeping fig? I find it is much easier than English ivy but looks similar. It can be allowed to dry out however. It is much more sensitive to that than English ivy. However, it stands up to shade and cold very well and doesn't get spider mites.
My monstera adansonii wide form came to me in October last year and it was oddly very cold and it was damaged. Now it's recovered and vining like crazy. I was about to wrap it around a pole 🙄. I have a narrow that's still young and bushy. All kinds of pothos and different kinds of arrowheads everywhere. I haven't snagged a cedu yet.

Thanks! Another great video! I can’t hang any of my plants, other than a Silvery Anne Scindapsis, on top of a tall bookshelf, because I’m in an apartment. So everything is climbing - Hoyas, Monstera Deliciosa, Pink Princess Philodendron, on Moss poles, bamboo hoops and trellises. I do have string of pearls and Hoya Linearis hanging from tall pots and plant stands. I love that you can laugh about your out of control plants! Take care! 💕🇨🇦

Same question! The staked epipremnums I see in nurseries are wound around a pole but all the plant youtubers go straight up. Is there a reason for one method over another or is it just personal preference? What do you think, Nick?
I love all of the plants you talked about, I have the Cebu blue and the Hoya australis the Cebu is trailing right now, but most of my Hoya are growing up a pole or a bamboo hoop or a teepee that I made for it, I have noticed that my Hoyas like to wind themselves around whatever is near by, that makes me giggle, plus most are hanging and winding up and around I only have 5 that have a bamboo stick they are climbing up. I would love to get a Rhaphidophora tetrasperma someday. I do have a Philodendron Bipennifolium which I need to get it on a moss pole, my narrow leaf Monstera Adansonii is on a bamboo stick till I can get a moss pole for her. I got some Cebu Blue cuttings from a friend about a year ago. I am so in love with that plant. I wouldn't mind having several of them around the house. I just recently ordered a Brandi and I am hoping I can trade a cutting of it for some more Cebu blue from my friend , LOL

I feel your pain, friend 😩 I'm in the US and it is impossible to find here where I am as well... and it is my number 1 wishlist plant 😭 all anyone sells online are cuttings and they're expensive.. and every time the actual plants come back in stock on any of the sites I'm registered to be notified on, I'm always too late and they sell out or the site crashes. I just tried today on Steve's Leaves - got the notification immediately and was on the site within 30 seconds but it wouldn't load and by the time it did they were gone. Fingers crossed I can get an actual plant of this one day 😭 and I hope you can, too ❤

I have a beautiful climbing one that’s about 2 ft tall and I got it for $60 at a local shop next to my job. Salem, Oregon. It’s crazy how regional plant are. You guys get things we WISH we could find easily.
I didn't want to put my golden pothos on a moss pole because I tried it before and it was just too hectic for me. So I started wrapping the vines back into the pot to make it bushier. And it did make it bushier! And the aerial roots were attaching to the soil and causing the leaves to grow larger! It's kind of like a cool experiment I tried and in fact I do notice larger leaf growth! My pothos is very bushy and loving life now. I hope this helps. :)
Cannot seem to get my paws on a Cebu Blue. They are so elusive right now, but I’m sure in the future they will be old news isn’t he plant community and I will see them in every store.
I’m all about my ferns, begonias, and prayer plants right now (I have a high humidity environment). I have not been able to get myself into Hoyas, I don’t think I have a single one. I just don’t get excited about them. Anywho, thanks for the fun video!

Understanding more and more on how to get my climbers to climb. Question; I had bought a golden pothos to have it climb. It is one of my larger plants, but it was definitely not taking care of at the store. However I got it at a very inexpensive price. The Ariel roots are pretty bad. I have heard to leave them alone, and I have heard to cut them off so new ones can grow in order to attach to the pole. I would appreciate your opinion on this, before I commit to surgery on this. Most of this pathos has come back and looks quite happy. I have the velcro on three parts of the pole, but they're not real tight of course. Hey Nick, I used a bamboo stake once and it gave my plant a fungal infection (the roots and the section of bamboo in the soil had black fungus all over) Is there a way to clean the bamboo so this doesnt happen? Do you do anything to prepare a bamboo stake before you use it in soil?
Thanks Nick! I've read that moss poles need to be kept damp, is that true? Seems odd if so since training on a hoop or bamboo wouldn't provide any moisture. I'm trying to decide the best way to go since I'm new at this.
I have cebu blue climbing up two bamboo hoops that I tied together on the top in the center. It’s in a rather large pot that I placed on a small table so I let some of it trail down and on those I noticed some of the nodes are not producing leaves...what does that mean; does it need more light? It was in a hanging basket when I purchased it and the leaves were fine. I’m thinking of propagating it and wonder if I cut the stems with nodes (they look like leaves that will not unfurl) and no leaves will it root? Thanks for another great video!
Another great thing way to let a plant climb is to let it climb up a tree form plant. I have a Scindapsus Pictus climbing up the cane of my tall Dracaena Marginata. Looks really cool and junglesk
NO MOSS POLE WRAPPING because simply your plant will out grow ANY moss pole they just arent long enough, youd be selling your plant short. Further more to repot you would have to destroy some parts of your plant.. UNLESS your fine with the above then Moss Pole away, they are beautiful

@@mustachadon I've held back on sphagnum as it isn't a renewable resource . Thats why I've switched to the coco. What do you think Jacob. I dont need to wet the coco coir and from what I understand sphagnum need to be kept moist. Good video isn't it xx
@@mustachadon i like burlap and jute too. Im also fortunate to live in Australia and my neighborhood has Melaleuca trees paperbark. I collect the shredded sheets of paperbark to wrap around poles with jute and line baskets with it too.
@@valiaudet3415 i think that sphagnum works better and is a renewable resource. Peat moss is far less renewable but still renewable, also spanish moss is readily available.
You find silly that a plant is given a stupid common name, but you don't mind calling epipremnum "pothos" when pothos is an entire species and none of these plants is in it. :(

I have my Hoya pubicalyx Splash on the very same bamboo hoop, it's so happy and growing fast!! It's well on it's way to lapping the hoop twice. :)

Same in Australia. I saw a one leaf cutting for AU$120.00 and a 6 leaf plant for about 330.00.
Makes me so sad that Cebu blue is not available in Australia 😭 I fell in love as soon as I saw it but I cannot get it to add to my pothos collection

You should try Dioscorea Elephantipes if im correct for the name, its a climbing plant.

Thanks Nick! I've read that moss poles need to be kept damp, is that true? Seems odd if so since training on a hoop or bamboo wouldn't provide any moisture. I'm trying to decide the best way to go since I'm new at this.
Moss polls don’t HAVE to be kept moist but keeping it moist would make the plant grab on to the moss poll because it will put air roots into the moss

I have cebu blue climbing up two bamboo hoops that I tied together on the top in the center. It’s in a rather large pot that I placed on a small table so I let some of it trail down and on those I noticed some of the nodes are not producing leaves...what does that mean; does it need more light? It was in a hanging basket when I purchased it and the leaves were fine. I’m thinking of propagating it and wonder if I cut the stems with nodes (they look like leaves that will not unfurl) and no leaves will it root? Thanks for another great video!
Another great thing way to let a plant climb is to let it climb up a tree form plant. I have a Scindapsus Pictus climbing up the cane of my tall Dracaena Marginata. Looks really cool and junglesk

NO MOSS POLE WRAPPING because simply your plant will out grow ANY moss pole they just arent long enough, youd be selling your plant short. Further more to repot you would have to destroy some parts of your plant.. UNLESS your fine with the above then Moss Pole away, they are beautiful
I've got a mini monstera and the adasoni. Love both of them. Got a moss pole but want to propergate my mini monstera first to make it more busy at the bottom. X

I have and almost exclusively aroid collection, give or take some alocasiad and oddballs. Most of my aroids are trained on moss poles.

@@mustachadon I've held back on sphagnum as it isn't a renewable resource . Thats why I've switched to the coco. What do you think Jacob. I dont need to wet the coco coir and from what I understand sphagnum need to be kept moist. Good video isn't it xx
@@mustachadon i like burlap and jute too. Im also fortunate to live in Australia and my neighborhood has Melaleuca trees paperbark. I collect the shredded sheets of paperbark to wrap around poles with jute and line baskets with it too.
@@valiaudet3415 i think that sphagnum works better and is a renewable resource. Peat moss is far less renewable but still renewable, also spanish moss is readily available.

You find silly that a plant is given a stupid common name, but you don't mind calling epipremnum "pothos" when pothos is an entire species and none of these plants is in it. :(
