He was also part of the Valentine Brothers, who did the original version of 'I Can Understand It,' also a great tune.
The poet Womack had a lot of awesome songs. Love to see you do the live version at Wattstack of Luther Ingram singing his classic "If Loving You is Wrong"
This is a great song. Beautifully done. K-Ci Hailey of K-Ci and JoJo (also known as part of the music group Jodeci, pronounced Joe-duh-see) also did a version of this same song. Bobby Womack, one of, if not the greatest male soul singers. Check out I'm Looking for a Love by him. Also, for another gritty, wonderful voice, please listen to The Dells, The Love We had Stays on my Mind, esp Marvin Junior's part.
K-Ci Hailey of Jodeci did a 🔥 🔥 🔥 cover of this song - you should really check that out.
While you're at it, if you haven't been introduced to Jodeci, please try 'Stay,' 'Cry for You,' and 'Get on Up'
You have to check out K-Ci's cover of this song.. he really did it justice.
For Female Friday’s please check out some Dione Warwick… so many great songs. Won’t be disappointed !!!
The story behind the song is that a producer he was working with was one the phone with his lady. The phone conversation was very heated. Before the man hung up, he told her this, "If you think you're lonely now, wait until tonight!!!!" Bobby Womack got himself a song!!!!
I wish he didn’t trust me so much and Across 110th street are other classics by Bobby Womack. A soul legend❤.
'Woman's Gotta Have It"
Oh yeah! Bobby Womack - now you are mining pure gold! "I can Understand it" next.
Yes, ty both for this reaction Bobby MAC he has preaching sound thats unique. Nice, but if you 2 have any time can you both react to one of my Fav around this era Shalamar "Lover In You" great reaction
Bobby grown folk music and you have to have been through some thangs to get it. Harry Hippie should be next.
You have just listened to a masterpiece, please let me direct you to another masterpiece in its own right, Lenny Williams “ Cause I Love You” , hold on tight this one is truly heartfelt.
A true soul singer, great choice. Womack has many terrific songs to review: Across 110th Street, That's the Way I Feel 'Bout Cha, Harry Hippie, A Woman's Gotta Have It, Nobody Wants You When You're Down and Out, Daylight, Don't Wanna Be Hurt By Your Love Again -- all great songs. He was also part of the Valentine Brothers, who did the original version of 'I Can Understand It,' also a great tune.
The poet Womack had a lot of awesome songs. Love to see you do the live version at Wattstack of Luther Ingram singing his classic "If Loving You is Wrong"
Channeling Barry White maybe a little, js
This is a great song. Beautifully done. K-Ci Hailey of K-Ci and JoJo (also known as part of the music group Jodeci, pronounced Joe-duh-see) also did a version of this same song. You guys should hear that one. Another good, smooth singer from the 50's you guys have got to listen and react to is Jerry Butler. Please react to a dong he sang with the Impressions. "For Your Precious Love" by Jerry Butler and The Impressions in 1958. Jay and Amber, you'll remember this song. It's so heartfelt and beautiful. Jerry Butler is my favorite old-school singer. His nickname was "The Iceman" because his singing was smooth and cool as ice.
I concur 💯
I love this instant reaction but but man this is really a culture of old school music that makes people's childhood. It brings back so much that can't be duplicated
Amber you have to check out "Scatman" by Scatman John. Trust me you will love it.
“Across 110th Street”. Also, he’s the featured artist on Gorillaz, “Stylo”. Very cool song and video. 💜
Bobby Womack’s one of the best soul singers of our time. I Wish He Didn’t Trust Me So Much is a classic - real talk!
“WHOOOOOOWEEEE!”…..”Nah Dat Iz Sum Good Ol’ SOUL FUNK!”🫰🏾Snappin’🫰🏾
