Now THIS is railroading, probably the best North America had to offer, the greatest scenery and the greatest engines. There is nothing cooler than watching those high speed FL9s!
This is why I love railroading. I have grown up watching all The FL 9 engines when i lived in Mott Haven section in Bronx New York. I have had so much joy watching them in there many changes & different railroads that took this fascinating diesel into their ownerships. For years all as a scale modeler were never producing FL 9 engines I had the pleasure to meet a dealer who had ATHEARN custom made FL 9 & one other MTA GP 35 engine (custom painted) I treasure them.. I just tested my first RAPIDO version in HO SCALE I love it! I want to invest into more of them.. I remember them released in MENARDS O scale. Unfortunately I haven't acquired any. The Horizon/ Comet cars endless (needs improvement on the HO versions) The ATLAS O SCALE I own them in. NJ Transit & Metro North no engines or electrics. All the equipment & coaches would you believe freight on rare occasions? This amazing engine has been for me a railroaders delight. Miss you in service FL 9 This EMD Diesel has put a smile on my face & happy sad at the same time. Thank you dearly for showing these. 👍👋👋👋👋
Great video as always. May 29, I wish it was May! Check out the Amtrak in the snow video, on my channel, if you haven't already, and you will wish it was May as well!
@@1990sRailfan I was not a huge fan either, but at least it looked like a locomotive. To me the new Siemens Charger looks to foreign to me, and does not sound like a diesel locomotive either,LOL!

I totally agree Mike. My favorite engines have always been the EMD F units and the Hudson Highlands were a great place to see them in their twilight.
The FL9 was such a beauty. I miss seeing them along the Hudson.
Super cool. The FL-9's looked so menacing!

Yeah Bob, I checked out both of them...Good Lord that is a lot of snow! What are those, the Siemens Chargers?
@@1990sRailfan Yes, sir! I'm not a huge fan of the new equipment, but it is what it is!
@@bobozo389 I wasn't a huge fan of the F40s at the time, but looking back, that was a good looking locomotive.

@@bobozo389 Ah! That's exactly how I feel, same with the electric ACS-64.
WTF THAT IS EARRAPE
Yeah, the audio from this VirtualDub capture is too hot. The reason I’ve stopped posting videos.
