John Lynch, Steve Atwater, Brian Dawkins, Ray Lewis, Kam Chancellor, James Harrison are probably the biggest hitters of modern football. Today, the rule changes have prohibited players from hitting the way they used to. Some old school guys would be Jack Tatum, Dick Butkus, Jack Lambert, Ronnie Lott, Lawrence Taylor.
2:15 When someone slides like that it's them giving themselves up. Hitting them after the fact is a foul, because you really can't defend yourself that well.
It’s meant for QB’s so they don’t have to be killed or run out of bounds and still hopefully not get demolished but yeah normally they do still get hit as long as they go feet first your not supposed to they are going down/giving up
Hey Adam, I used to play football... Helmet to helmet is very very serious. It may seem like it's padding, but it's greater force to a smaller area. It may not be a big flashy hit at full speed.. but even in short bursts helmet to helmet is serious
Bruh everyone overseas always use the word "padding" and i hate it so much but they don't know any better football once you play as we have from youth to college I never try to explain to them they just don't get it.
@@thecobaltblade9-oq2yt as a chiefs fan, whether the raiders are good or bad I always fear them. They always put up a hell of a fight against us, and they always play a very physical game. I'm just happy if none of our big name guys get hurt against them.
The undisputed terror of all time is a man named Dick Butkus. He only played for nine NFL seasons, but he is in the Hall of Fame. Every team he played for was based in Illinois from High School through the pros. He was an absolute terror as a middle linebacker in the Golden Age of Middle Linebackers. Today's big hitters are nothing compared to Butkus. He instilled abject fear into opponents where today's big hitters are restrained by rules which will get them ejected and\or fined. He played under no such restrictions and yet would still break your neck under today's rules.
Going back a few years, I believe it was in 2009, the NFL Network crowned Dick Butkus (NFL 1965-1973) as the most feared tackler of all time because of his devastating hits.
I read an article about guys playing against Dick Butkus and one player said his quarterback told him to let him know who was coming. He said the guy told him if it was Dick Butkus, to notify the quarterback’s next of kin.
The fact that you spent how ever long typing the player name, the number of players, their injury, AND their team is crazy. I respect your work… thank you
