The air gun market in the UK is entirely different, due to power restriction laws in the UK. Crippling an FX so it complies with UK laws basically removes the product from the market, since a springer will perform equally as well at a fraction of the cost. A Weirauch HW-97 is the only air gun needed for the UK.
Been using my HW77 for 35 years, I took it down the range a few weeks ago to zero a new scope and you could place a 5p to cover my group at 25m. Very safe words, thank you for making me realise, and saving me £2k ;-)
Thanks for the review. I am a left-handed shooter - how frustrating that a company can not figure out how to flip a magazine.
I bought an Alpha Wolf by Daystate.
I’ve had mine a few months .. 100% the best air rifle I’ve ever owned
I have a MK2 impact and the reg behind the trigger goes bad in a year or so so you'll need to replace it with a Huma sooner or later
Lucky lad. 👍
Hope it’s doing the business.
Hi Phil , would you still recommend the FX impact and have you had any problems
Thanks for that in depth video of the FX M3. I'm useally not one to watch a 40 minute RUclips video but I was gripped by how much detail you went into . At my shooting club the guys slag the M3 off but I'm still yet like many other's to make my mind up . I think now after watching you explain EVERYTHING about the gun I'm gonna go buy one . Thanks for your hard work .
thanks for putting up with my ramblings. I was going to cut the size of the vid down, but decided it would loose too much. I do tend to waffle a lot tho :)
@@airgunology not at all . Crack on with the in depth detail 👌.
Steve im in the US and I watch your videos alot and really enjoy them because of your personality and your knowledge buddy. I give you guys alot of credit in the U.K being able to shoot so great in Sub 12. Your the man Steve take care buddy.
Wha a great great review about the fx m3. You have gone into everything, left nothing out. You are so good. After seeing this review, you don't need to see any more. You leave me in no doubt whatsoever, I want one, sub 12.
Amazing rifle obviously, but in sub-12 when you remove the tuning functionality, I don't see the value for almost £2K. At half the price, a Dreamline Tactical Compact is better value for money IMO.
Shorter barrel (who cares at sub-12), a lower shot count and single reg are the compromises to save £1000.
Get a Maverick and get dual regs and save £800 or so 😁
I wish they would knock £500 of the asking price for a sub 12 with missing features. Then it would make a lot more sense to more people. But they know they will sell the sub 12 at the same price and so they will continue to do so. I know many who have bought one as it is the latest and greatest and they love it. Just check the replies in this video for evidence of that. Everyone has different depth pockets and everyone has their limits to spend.
If I could only have a 12ftb I'd get the shortest in .22
In Việt Nam 2750 USD
I am left handed and setup the scope that my chin / cheek is on the magazine and it makes it ideal for me… all Airgun a have issues just as all cars BMW vs Mercedes have issues… each to their own as you said!
Had mine a couple of weeks now and absolutely love it. Took a little while finding out which pellets it likes. H&N Barricuda worked best for me.
Thanks for the video. One thing that might be worth mentioning is that you can convert a sub 12 ft/lb to FAC at a later date when you get your firearms certificate.
Mate that was one of the best reviews iv ever seen il be getting one after watching this review
Ordered mine today. Can’t wait. Yes it’s sub 12, yes it’s expensive and YES I am happy.
Awesome review. 👍
The only thing that I don’t like about this is knowing that even Father Christmas isn’t going to place one of these in my cabinet.
I’ve just tortured myself for 38 minutes
🎅 🎄 ☹️
I got a MK2 hehehehe
@@henryofskalitz2228 Lucky boy 🍀
Hope it’s going well 👍
Had mine a few months the damned thing hits what i point at, Mine is sub12 but i have fitted the quick tune and it makes it so much easier to tune for different ammo. Personally i found a pellet and weight it likes then tuned it to those pellets but fx or jsb work the best i also found it loves the 17gr armex pellets but of course you cant get them anymore.
Just bought one sub 12lb and you confirmed I made the right choice 🎉 A year out of date but better late than never 😊
Had mine in sub 12 .22 for over 6 months now and bar none and by far the best rifle I have had the pleasure of shooting…….ITS A LASER 😀
Sweet
The standard size sub 12 is actually 500mm barrel in the UK, and 600mm barrel if it's FAC. Just to update you there. 😉
You can upgrade from sub 12 to FAC.
Spoke to The Sportsman Gun Centre (main UK FX dealer) and they have said it can be fully upgraded to the full fat FAC model for around £500. So for anyone considering it pending getting an FAC in future, it can be upgraded.
Warranty from FX is 3 years, so for anyone worried about leaking or reliability it's fully covered for 3 years and the main dealer has a 72 hour turnaround time for warranty repairs. So if anything goes squiffy it can be fixed very quickly.
Nice review Steve, I would buy a M3 but only in fac
I would have got one like a shot if they made it lefty. I got the Sabre Tactical Crown instead. I reckon it would give the Impact and the Red Wolf a run for their money.
Great review on this many thanks
The magnetic fill cover was another add on. The original is shorter with no magnet
I love mine it's unbelievable how accurate it is well worth the cost
Nice rifle! Like you said though, Needs to be the FAC version. An impact choked to 12ftb is just not cricket ;)
I'll stick with my hw110 until I get(If) my FAC license for now.
Good vid as usual.
SO TEMPTED by one of those scopes for ratting ect . DAMN YOU!!!!!!!!!!
hahahaha you and me both. The point of the video was to give people the info to make their own minds up
Wouldn't mind one as a gift,just looks like a Meccano builders nightmare!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😜
I just wish more companies would make accessories for these guns as sabre tactical seem to be dominating the market ,
PRS are good
Yes they do. There are some people doing 3d printed parts, but yes these metal parts are only made by a few and they charge the earth for them
Bit of useful info for anyone considering sub 12 pending FAC. I spoke with The Sportsman Gun Center who are the UK main agent for all FX rifles. They have told me without question that a sub 12 fx impact m3 CAN be upgraded to full FAC including all parts, plenum etc for around £500. So, if like me you are considering buying the sub 12 if you don't already have your FAC, you can upgrade to full FAC features later for a relatively reasonable price (I say reasonable for people willing to spend £1800 on a rifle). Also the FX comes with a 3 year warranty from FX which is maintained by The Sportsman Gun Centre, AND they aim for a 72 hour turnaround time on warranty repairs. So for anyone commenting about leaking, reliability etc, if you get any issues then should be dealt with for free, very quickly for up to 3 whole years!
I’ve a sub 12 MK3 .177 and it’s absolutely accurate and perfect but I’m not sure about your comment regarding changing the barrel to .22 and you say that the rifle will go over power. This is not the case as the specific none FAC .22 barrel is regulated by the size of the air transfer port size on the breach of the barrel to keep the 1:1 barrel swap with either barrel to be within the sub 12 ft lb limit. So no adjustments are required unless you fit an FAC specific ported barrel and you can’t buy them without an authorised firearms certificate variation. But if I’m wrong pls let me know. This is a good video review. Kind regards Paul.
Nice review
Hello. I received in December 2021 my new FX Impact M3 Sniper .22. I have a question. Is it normal that during the night, when I turn off the heating, the next morning, when it's 15 °, the gauge of my first regulator is at 165 bars instead of 150 bar. I take a shot and the regulator is again positioned on 150 bars. Last night I left the heating on and the first regulator did not move, it remained on 150 bars. Thank you .
As always love your honest and straightforward reviews. Not 100% sure but I think you will find that the sub12 is actually a 500mm barrel hiding in the shroud for a 600 so that the bigger bottle can be fitted. The Maverick is the same. My problem is it’s massive overkill in sub12 both in the extra tech and cash, for the money the Maverick, if you want dual reg and bigger plenum or a Dreamline is as good and doesn’t leak as often.
Even in Fac my personal view is the Maverick is superb just marginally more fiddly to tune but if your using the same pellets/slugs that’s not a problem as one tune will give both.
With 600 shots in sub12 you either can’t hit a barn door or you have very serious pest problems 😂
You are correct, that fact is hiding on one of the slides I put up. Depends on 177 or 22
@@airgunology dont ding the shroud they are almost impossible to replace 😂
@@happyhalfwit8862 ouch, I trust you know from experience
@@airgunology only too well, 12 weeks to order.
I just got one of these in 1.77 sub 12.
GREAT REVIEW, NO COMFORDABLE ADJUSTABLE CHEEKPIECE!!!
Nope, but plenty of after market ones to buy
Great video many thanks. I ordered a .177 standard in sub 12 seventeen weeks ago and its just arrived at my rfd. My question is. If I decided to have this put on my fac can this be done?. In other words can all the additional bells and whistles be added to it?.
Can you add parts to make it FAC - Yes you can order them. Not sure on whether you would need to provide proof of FAC, so best speak to your RFD who can advise on getting the parts and possibly fitting them for you.
@@airgunology many thanks steve. I didn't initially order it in fac because I have a Daystate Wolverine 2 that does 35ftlbs in .22. I wanted a .177 in sub 12 for garden shooting and farm billing work. But seeing it's potential now I may be tempted to upgrade it.
Hate to say it but you don't necessarily need to modify a cheeper rifle to get just as accurate grouping. My Artemis P15 .22 cal sub 12 ft'lb which cost me about £450, get's just as accurate grouping, though it did take testing multiple pellet brands and weights to get consistent accurate groups, without any need to upgrade the rifle itself in any way. It prefers Air Arms Heavy 18 grain pellets.
Brilliant, as a lefty this was priceless info for me and sadly giving it a bye, much as I would like one. Amy LH owner feedback?
where can I get the bottom rail for the bipod and butt pad upgrades from
Remember .22 requires less air. So buy the .177 and swapout the barrel ...to be detuned.
Yea, right. 🤣
as a newbie to the sport and watching all these videos of high end / high prices rifles can i ask why are the groupings not all on the bullseye. If i spent that much and had that much experience surely i would expect to be blowing the centre of the target out with the first ten shot.. I'm just wondering and welcome any kind helpful feedback please
Wind in a nut shell. Light weight ammo gets effected by the wind so easily. Flatter trajectory but in sub 12 your basically limited to 40-50 yards at best unless your really good or lucky. FAC and .22 or bigger at 880 FPS still gets pushed around by the wind even.
Fx should do a UK spec Impact with out the adjustment bells and whistles , a gun that just shoots as near the UK limit as is safe I think it would sell well.
Beautiful airgun..i want that
That's a sub 12 fpe FX Impact M3, with all the features that it has, does it do any good with sub 12 fpe? I don't think so.
Started to look at these, why don't they have a sling point on them??
Wot pellets are you using bud have tried a few others and it not as good as my redwolf
Can you actually get the 9mm version in the UK? ,I'm pretty sure it's illegal to own a 9mm powder rifle in this country,I ask because obviously the power of a .35 is going to be well into the 100 and above FPE power ,if you know the legality of that could you let me know please Steve?
Great entertaining and informative video as always.
Nope, with an FAC 9mm powder or air is legal.
This guy has to be a DCS fan with that thrustmaster hotas lol
MOA lift up on here.... no thats not how it works, thats not how any of this works lol. it has a slope going down towards the front not up.
You are correct, got mixed up there. Easy to do. Downwards towards the barrel to force you to lift up the rifle. Goes to show I am human after all :(
What bipod are you using please
Do the shrouds for the mk 2 from air fective fit the mk 3 ?
No idea buddy, try posting in the FB group to see if anyone knows.
The answer from Air Fective is YES
Would you sell your redwolf if needed to purchase the new impact?
No, love my Redwolf.
What do you know about the legality of owning an airsoft rifle in the Philippines?
I was wondering if you had a 500 mm FX impact barrel and you wanted to increase it to 600 mm can you just buy the liner and just get a barrel extender to save money?
So you say in sub 12 it's a lot of money wasted !!?? So not great then in sub 12 😢😢(p.s love the video and love you channel ❤️)
Ser good day it is fx imfact above 4kg? Or belou that i mean
I'm really tempted to get one but I'm struggling to get over the fact it's like a Ferrari with a ford fiesta engine.
can this be shot left handed , the mag looks like it will be in the way ?
Given the sub 12 ft'lb doesn't come with all the bells and whistles that the FAC has, then the sub 12 should be cheeper simply because you are getting less for your money. That it is this very reason that I won't be purchasing a FX Impact M3, though if it were priced around £1,300.00 for the sub 12 ft'lb then I would purchase one.
I'm like "sub-12?"... then I saw something called a "FAC" mentioned - that got me reading. WOW. That REALLY sucks. Condolences.
i just wish it could shoot semi auto, i dont like loading every shot. especially if youre using it for home defense
Prices this gun
Not 'mark' 3... it's M3... makes a difference 👍
ok
How much sir
All I’m saying is that your rifle isn’t standard it’s dripping in saber upgrades, seems like it’s an amazing rifle but you need to show what the rifle your plugging is stock not a £1500 gun and £1000 in upgrades.
The butt stock and pic rail made no difference to the shooting in the video as the rifle was in a stand. That is the reason I use a stand to eliminate such accessories and my crap shooting.
In my opinion ,if you are buying a sub 12 and you want an FX impact my advise is don't buy one , get the maverick instead, in the UK you can't take advantage of all the adjustability of the gun ,most of those features are locked of with anti tamper screws, save yourself some money and get the same accuracy and enjoyment from the FX maverick, that's just my opinion, but I speak from personal experience.
Disagree, had a go of the maverick before purchasing the M3, M3 works like a dream and well worth it in my opinion
Good advice 👍
At least in sub-12 you get a gun :)
Sub 12 is like pissing against the wind
Same price as the Leshiy 2 which is an engineering masterpiece, looks great and if you can afford it then why not. L2 for me.
Have both if you can :) Depends on how deep your pockets are. I have the L2, I can't justify the M3 when I still have a Mk 1 on the shelf unused,
What have you done now! Drool
M3 is nothing more than a mk2 with larger PP, a front bottle reg, and they just change the hex screw into a turning wheel. Other than that it it just a impact like the mk2.
Sub 12 is such a shame. Its like buying a hell cat with a 6 cyl engine 😂
Can an M3 35cal be converted to 177?
Can't see why not, change barrel, pellet probe and magazine (should all come in a kit) and detune to suit the 177 pellet. But check with supplier first, but can't see why not.
@@airgunology that would be cool
Yes it can. Have bought the .35 version and a .22 conversation. You would just need to buy the .177 conversion set.
why did conversion write as conversation, o well, but the information is correct.
As Steve said, no problem. You may wish to change the hammer weight (& spring maybe) apart from that no issue, my 25cal can be as low as 25ftlb & accurate (didn't take it lower) or over 100ftlb, depending on tune, I'm also testing slugs with retained energy of over 12ftlb at 1 mile 😀 CRAZY i know
The mk2 is the best it just one another word championship 2021 not the mk 3
ads r no no
I don’t want to see your scope advertising
Absolute waist of money in sub12😂
FX doesn't make an Impact Mark 3. Just so ya know.
Everyone is calling the Mark 3. So what.
@@airgunology. So...call it what it is. M3.
This guy weds to get out side for some fresh air. You gave us a fantastic recite , put heart and truth on it in this guy is about some BS like he’s talking about. You could have called it the Marco Polo and we knew what you meant.
Good job and thanks for your hard work
@@TheOverlyHackeled. Hey, don't be too hard on him. He's just confused and doesn't quite know what the name of the gun he is talking about.
