@@SubhaChugh it turned out SO well. I got some crazy roots within a few weeks. Good luck with yours, just be sure to keep the water clean and allow for light and oxygen to get in to whatever vessel you use
I tried putting some coleus leaves in a glass of water like you did after watching your video. That was 8 days ago. Today l saw some roots growing on the leave stems, just about 3 mm long. Wow. Thks to your tip. What I did was to remove the leaves from the trunk as close as l can to the trunk. Then just submerged the stem into the water keeping the leaves about water. Today is the 8th day of my experiment. I ll wait till the roots are about 10-15 mm long then I'll transfer it to some containers filled with potted soil. That will probably take another week or so! Thks.
Yes!! It really works! I accidentally planted my Mayana leaf then upon checking it already grew another plant!! ❤️❤️ More ways to propagate Mayana without throwing those mature leaves ❤️
Wondering how these turned out! I enjoyed your video, and the “sad music” for the little dead leaf casualty… then the funny little laugh after! Your video was not only informative, but entertaining as well! Loved it! 😍❤️
Place the container of water inside a black pot that fits the container so that the area is darker/less sunlight to roots and plenty of light for leaf area. This has helped me with all water propagation.
The end result is..Even though the roots are there from the leaf but still it will not turn into a plant because it has no shoots..still keep experimenting..lets see
I did the same thing . Results varied. Small leaf coleus all rotted in the water. Large leaf coleus thrived , and developed roots all along the stem ,. I then planted them in regular potting mix. It has been over a month and a half now. All the leaves look healthy, but there is no sign of new plants anywhere. Next experiment, planting the leaves directly in soil, skipping the water part.
good morning! someone gave me a coleus cutting and i initially throw away the 2 extra leaves, but when i incidentally watched your video on that same day, i took them back and did the same with the leaves. both started having roots now. i just want to know if you have any updates with your experiment? do they grow now as full plants?
HI Chito, thank you for your comment. the leaves had roots. actually lots of roots however, the leaf was not that stable and it eventually died. I think it would be better to use direct cuttings from the coleus plant, not just the leaves. happy planting!
@@dambalasikgardenandaquatic449 hi thank you very much for the immediate reply. i got too excited pa naman haha. 'will keep watching your posts. GOD bless.
@@chitoperez7940 Hi again. We could be in the same predicament. I got too excited that maybe I transplanted the leaves too soon. You may continue with yours and see if you will succeed. Then share it here. Thank you for your support. God bless
I put some of these leaves in water as well and so far one of the rooted ones have small green leaves coming from the bottom stem of the leaf. I still have it in the water.
I also love planting but sometimes I get frustrated when I transplant them they start to wilt. But I will also try this. Thanks for sharing. More power to your channel #Cerbtv
Would love an update on how these turned out. I put a leaf in some water this evening as an experiment and then came on YT to see if I was crazy 😂🤞🏻
How did yours turn out? I'm trying it now!

I tried this in Alaska.. Yes! It worked! Even outdoors at 40-50F. Have 6 small plants that will move indoors now :)

I just watched a video that you are suppose to cut the coleus below the node then remove the lower leaves. Roots form in 4 days.
San na po yung update....malago n po b?😊
Interesting topic
Love from Pakistan...

Just dont repot too soon. works for me. thanks for dropping by
You should put the trunk in the water till it's roots appear. Once the root appears, your coleus won't wilt but don't forget to water it generously .
May update po kung nag grow? 😊
Amazing Video 😘👌
Thank you! Cheers!
Pretty!
