FIVE HOURS of a program where NOTHING HAPPENS everyone hates each other, evil corporation, somehow jodie foster is the town skank........this show LOWERS MY IQ
I'm going to go a bit Danvers on you and say I think you're asking the wrong questions 😂. Some of the "conclusions" or answers you're looking for don't need to be answered, eg it doesn't really matter who killed Wheeler. It shows us that Liz and Evangeline both had reason to do it, and they each kept their mouth shut. It shows us that they refused to walk away from a man they had witnessed beat his partner to death. It shows us that even people who are supposed to be good have their breaking points. Does knowing who did it drive the plot? No. So I doubt we'll get an answer. Also, does it matter what happened to Liz's son/husband? It rationalizes her prickly exterior and shows us a reason why she's slept with all the men in Ennis. But does it impact the case? No. True Detective is both an exploration of a case and the detectives life experiences they bring to that case. I think the writes don't owe us an explanation of what's happened to the detectives, but they do owe us closure on the case. I'm going to fail miserably, but questions I want to ask are: What is so valuable in the ice caves that Tuttle is willing to kill over it? Are Navarro's visions connected to her ptsd? Are we to infer from Rose's comment on separating spirits and mental illness that Evangline's ark is to realize she has ptsd? Are the stillbirths related to the absence of midwives and/or the polluted water? Is this a plot by Tuttle to reduce the innuit population and Annie found out about it? Is that what the scientists were really studying? Thankful for this channel
Yes after wasting 4 episodes on family drama we are finally getting one episode with murder mystery progression. This episode shows us what's obvious from the start... the crooked mining company is hiding the toxins and there is no X files supernatural thing going on as much as we'd like.
Bro - Kate told Hank (and called him Henry) she was counting on him in the ice rink back in ep 1 or 2. Nothing abrupt about their connections. What were you talking about there lol
I agree! I wondered if she either felt pressure bc she was trespassing and didn't have a warrant or if Connely being there made her feel like she had to answer and justify herself
It showed that Kate had Connelly in her pocket. No civilian has the right to get answered to them questions, specially DURING an active investigation. Danvers didn’t know Connelly was shutting it down at that point.
I think people overlook the fact that Peter has an infant son in Ennis, who drinks Ennis water, and who is Peter's blood. I think a more empowering angle is that Peter thought his father just chose the wrong side for their family. Which goes back to, does Hank view his indigenous grandson as the kind of blood he values? We never see them together. Is all blood, blood?
Bringing Pete his childhood skates says he knows how old Pete’s son is ‘only four years old’, so he at least knows about him even if we don’t see them together. Kayla is the bigger pain, she doesn’t show she cares about the bad water or that Pete might break open a case of abuse to native women! Instead she’s a whiner.
@@judywright4241 Skating seems more important to Hank than it does his grandson, who he is unwilling to go see despite living in the same isolated town. I also think Pete could be a better communicator and to blame the relationship solely on Kayla seems unfair. They clearly have an unhealthy relationship. I do feel bad for Pete, though. What is he supposed to do? What actual work is there? It seems like just the mine, some people living off of the land, and the police. And a handful of scientists who don't actually live in the town. Pete and Kayla live in two different worlds. Kayla is indigenous, and Pete is a white settler. Pete can never truly be indigenous, but the way he treats everyone, especially Navarro, proves that he is the most sympathetic character in the show.
Finn Bennett who plays Pete said this in LA Times today: "While he can’t say anything about the finale, Bennett teases that the conclusion is “a very cooperative ending to a show.” “I think you get to decide how you want it to end,” he says, adding that his own reaction to watching the sixth episode was awe. “Unbelievable,” he says. “I burst into tears because I was so proud.” "
He won’t need to hack it…he’ll just use his own finger as he’s cleaning him up. Then he’ll send a text from his dads phone, to himself and possibly set it up as a s*cide… Or even somewhat go for the truth- as far as him busting his dad killing the guy and so he shot him. Tho idk that will be it. I think he will definitely have it figured out, at the same time the ladies figure out Annie’s death and then it’ll either be a showdown with them at the end… Or…they’ll all be holding all of the secrets! Idk, all I know is he’s smart and will do it right. Course there will be all of those looks at the end…when they make you left to wonder who is going to be the one who talks. Too many don’t like each other in this one- so *turning could be anybody. But possibly Pete could turn on Liz even! I mean- if they’re going for shock value…THAT would be it. I just hope Pete doesn’t get a divorce text, where it sends him over the edge and he does himself off too. 😮
He didn't solve anything. It was Liz and Navarro who have been investigating the murder and finding her phone which gave them the location that the mining company is trying to hide.
He solved what happened to Wheeler. He is part of a team & they all are doing their part. I feel for the guy, but don’t minimize what Danvers & Navarro are doing in solving both cases.
@@ceciliaSF-TX His father was part of the “Team” and so is Connelly. Being part of a team doesn’t mean all are doing TRUE detective stuff. Kid literally solved the crime for them.
When Hank said, "I'm not a killer," I knew that's exactly what he was going to do. Shooting Heis in front of Liz meant he would have to shoot her too. Pete was faced with a tough decision and made the right choice in the end. Also stepped up to clean the murder scene while Liz and Navarro went to the caves. Can't wait for the last episode. 😅
He was faced with a tough decision but I think her repeating “think” in his ear wasn’t necessary and actually took away from his choice in the scene. Remember she always treated him and everyone around her like shit, she actually ruined the guy’s life and always treated him like a little pawn slave. The scene would be better for Peter if she wasn’t “manipulating” him in that moment.
@@sayhellotomylitleful Liz is tough and no-nonsense with everyone but I don't see her treating Pete like shit or ruining his life. Many cops get divorced bc of their work schedules. If I were Liz, I would have said, "He just shot an unarmed man in the back and will have to shoot me bc I was a witness..." Pete figured it out, but it must have been torture to shoot his own dad. His dad even admitted he was on the take with his admission that "I didn't kill her, I just moved the body..." Dumping them in the ocean just means the Coast Guard will find the bodies.
@@jonfreeman9682 Peter didn't have to resort to a cover up. His father had just executed someone and was about to execute the chief of police. If that isn't a justifiable shooting then nothing is, and Peter is portrayed as an intelligent police officer so he would know that. So either this show has bad writing, or Peter obviously had an ulterior motive for wanting to cover the incident up.
great breakdown, thank you. I was so relieved that Pete made it to the end of the episode alive! I am unreasonably invested in Pete and Evangeline’s well-being 😂😂❤
great video, my list of things that need go get wrapped up explained are: 1. the tsalal scientists murder 2. Annie Ks murder 3. the ice caves/ mining company and what they’re up to, 4. the one eyed polar bear, 5. the ghosts and supernatural aspect.
I don't think Evangeline Navarro is a bad person. Her name literally means "bearer of good news" I believe these spirits are pointing at her hauntingly in a way to say "its up to you to solve our murders". Like an avenging angel. When Danvers told her that the Annie case was closed due to Connelly shutting it down, it was as if Navarro was throwing the curse of the hauntings onto Danvers. We don't necessarily know who Wheelers dead wife was truly pointing at. Could possibly be pointing at her living husband as if to say "he did it, get him" and so Navarro being intolerable to abuse against women, Avenged the wifes death. I believe Danvers knew Hank was following her around and had a gut feeling he would show up at her house. And quite possibly gave Pete the key to the shed so he would be around when and encounter would come so that Pete could truly see the kind of person his father was. My Hunch was right that Hank was involved in the Annie K case somehow. I don't believe Hank when he says he isn't a killer. Danvers proved to Pete that his father isn't as dense as he plays himself to be. That he had been tracking what Danvers, Navarro and Pete were doing the entire time. Lying to them all the whole time. Navarro even confronted Hank about his withholding information on the Annie K case. Danvers shut him down after threats to speak about the wheeler case. I think Pete finally saw for himself who his father was after his father lied about what he was doing when Pete showed up to stay after being kicked out by Kayla. And what is up with Kayla? So mad about Pete working so much. Seemingly jealous of Danvers taking up so much of his time. Is it really Danvers she has a problem with? Or is it the Annie K case? Does she have a problem with him investigating the scientists murders? I am still trying to put my finger on what is up with her. Right now she is just an annoyance to me. Like she has no care about the murders at all. Truly looking forward to the finale! I hope its more than an hour!
I also think about this, I imaginé that Ennis being so remote that they normally don't have anything out of the ordinary happen in years and years and years.
@@ceciliaSF-TX He is doing the TRUE Detective work… which requires intelligence. The other two are bickering and whining for FOUR and a HALF episodes. I almost tapped out.
@@stewartcedres3893 He is doing research, breaking into phones, & following orders. Danvers & Navarro are talking to people & following leads & chasing stuff down. How does that make Pete the ‘true’ detective?? It takes all their work, as a team, to figure this out. In fact, he is still learning how to be a cop from Danvers, his boss.
@@ceciliaSF-TX The leads provided by HIM. Kid was the one who came with the idea of having a veterinarian perform preliminary cause of death. Chief couldn’t even notice that she was being tailed. Amateur.
In AV Club, the writer said that the last episode is 75 mts long. She too hopes to have the major questions resolved. I really like this season & I need some answers! This was a great episode!!! Btw: a freak storm doesn’t leave tidy piles of clothing behind & next to a cluster of naked bodies. It really shows how much power that factory has over Connelly/the police.
I think that story Hank told Pete about saving him from the ice is going to come back when he has to pick the ice with Rose to put the bodies in, I feel like he’s going to see Hank come back to life and pull him down or tempt him to go into the water with him. I feel like there is a reason that story was told.
I think maybe he had something to do with Pete “falling in”…like maybe he was going to k*ll him…before he snapped out off it and then “rescued” him- Pete will remember what really happened…when he’s there ready to put his dad in… Ultimately the shot will still be of the current sweeping him away.
I hope they also explain why Navarro’s ears were bleeding at the end of the last episode. In this episode picked up a week later with no mention of it.
It was a great episode! Loved the scene with Liz and Peter. Love Navarro and Jody Foster has always been a favorite and this character is awesome. I think Navarro killed her mom to protect her little sister. Still don’t know who killed Annie K. Great review.
Yeah when she was holding him it was the first time I feel we've seen Liz show actual emotion. She's been hard on Pete this season so seeing her have a sense of care was nice! Yeah agree about Evangeline too!
@2:30 - the loudest voice against the mining company is killed in a hidden cave, probably by that mining company so... they pay a police officer to take the body out of the cave and left in public with the toungue cut out,, on the theory that sends more of a message than just disappearing her? Creating evidence that there was definitely a murder to be solved, in which the company has the greatest motive? It's almost like the writers have never even watched a murder mystery, never mind written one. Almost exactly like.
1) Anne K was dating Raymond in secret. She would just be using him to get information on what she was digging. While she had her own reasons to be investigating what the mine was doing, she would have her own boyfriend or Raymond his own GF. As it came from her, so she might have had a boyfriend. So she might have being murdered by passion, reason why she got stabed multiple times and not by the mine or an agent from the mine itself. 2) Being Navarro the person who "knows more about the Anne K case", I'd like to point that her relationship with Qavvik doen't get me at all. So in my humble opionion, she approached him to investigate him as we have seen she sneaking into him at least twice. I don't think he's just a support character to her. So he could be the Anne K boyfriend who discovered her relationship with Richard and killed her by passion. Simple as that. If this is true, the mine decided to drop her body to everybody see it and understand as a message. They just liked it. 3) The two womans from the factory will play for sure a role in the final episode. But I think they are connected to the Turtle cult.
I don't think we will find out who killed Wheeler, I think the point is that they killed and covered it up making them both culpable. Unless its about Navarro being the overall killer, I dont think it matters who pulled the trigger in this case.
Hank has skills as singer but the first wife didn’t support his desire to pursue a career in music. Now we know he really did have talent & grew resentful for not pursuing that music career. Which is why he didn’t admit to his son that he was singing.
We also need to find out the deeper meaning of the “she’s awake” hopefully the last episode is hour and a half…it will feel like a movie to close it out
@@olemartinjansson2242yeah, some people complaining it would never happen, but I think the obviousness is the point, to show how corrupt it is. Unfortunately mirrors real life, big corps & the rich can get away with murder.
It was a nod to the Dyatlov Pass. A slab avalanche is most likely what killed them, but by the time the bodies were found, the snow had melted. It took researchers over 50 years to figure it out. The "higher ups" are trying to say that the same thing happened to the Tsalal scientists, but that's clearly a lie.
Anybody notice how Foster's hair goes from fresh cut and highlighted to grown out and back to fresh cut in the same scenes? Is it a continuity slip or does it show different times or flashbacks?
i think pete is the killer. his dad hank kept saying 'blood is blood' as a reminder to his son that he protected him by moving annie k.'s body... that's why pete shot him, he thought he was going to reveal the truth.
I'm thinking much the same thing. Though I believe Peter shot his father to protect Danvers because he really does care for her. There was no reason for Peter to think his father was going to reveal the truth. He had just got done executing one person and was about execute another to keep the cover up in place.
he only shot him when he aimed his gun at Danvers. Pete was really wanting her to admit she killed wheeler…which means she didn’t…and we’ll know as soon as it’s obvious whoever is left handed- which I’m almost wondering if it’s Kate.
@@missymarie2698 I thought Wheeler was the one who was left handed. It was relevant because when Danvers and Navarro staged the suicide they made it appear like someone who was right handed did it, because they didn't know Wheeler was left handed. That's how Peter figured out the crime scene was staged. Kate is barely even a character, and was basically just used as plot device to show how Hank was involved in covering up Annie's murder. So if she turns out to be the secret villain that's going to be incredibly lame. I think it's more likely she's just your generic corrupt executive character sweeping corporate dirt under the rug. She just doesn't have enough development to make any kind of impact as a surprise reveal. And with all the insane reviews this show has been getting, it better finish strong.
Nothing made sense in that episode. And as an attorney, the ending scene is actually laughable. There is nothing to “cover” because the shooting was evidently justified. The fact that three cops together can’t even begin to think of a reason to justify the shooting is absurd. Moreover, by “covering up” this nonexistent crime, they also get rid of any evidence of Hank’s corruption and culpability.
I think you're missing the part about Navarro believing their boss - Connelly - is corrupt and in the pocket of the mining company who she believes is behind the murder. So it's not entirely unreasonable for her not to trust the police to investigate. She's also not exactly a super intelligent character. She's impulsive and reckless - so to cover up the incident doesn't really seem like a stretch for her character to me. She also has a history of being able to influence Danvers into going along with what she wants to do. The only character it makes no sense for would be Peter. But that's only if you believe he's a straight shooter like the show portrays. If he's secretly a villain and was part of the murder, it makes sense why he would want to cover up the incident.
Wheeler was left handed but they didn't know it. Wheeler's "suicide" was by a right handed person's shot to the head. The marks on his wife were from left to right so they flipped the pictures to make it look like a right handed person hit her. At least that is what I think. They didn't realise til after they examined her marks that he had been left handed. So it would point to Liz being the one who shot him as she was on the right.
You know...back in prior episodes when they found Annie's phone in the trailer? Well....she had it on her when she died....that means Clark was there when she was killed....
unpopular opinion: this season is sooooooooo slow. I was intrigued by the mystery of the first episode but it seems as if every episode is 1 step forward then 2 steps back. No payoffs that hook. Will they resolve this satisfyingly with just one episode remaining..idk
You can very easily tell that this was a show written as something else and then retooled to be a "True Detective" season. Unfortunately, the changes are so blatantly hamfisted that someone as slow as me can pick them out at first glance.
Maybe Blair lost a baby to. Her violent boyfriend killed Annie because he belived it was her fault. She was a midwife. But then Blair killed the men at Tsalal
Another important moment about Blair and her colleague… we saw them after they had bent the law a little to defend and get revenge on an attack on Blair. He was literally knocked out and his injuries were far worse than hers this time.
What about the fact that they claimed the corpsicle was caused by a weather event? That seemed to be a pretty important part... This was a great episode though!
I believe Annie did not love Clark & he was a means to an end. This is why she desperately wanted to go with her friend to the site; & then wanted to keep the relationship secret (from the town, the village, & also the other researchers & mining co). I believe this became obvious to Clark and out of heartbreak, he killed her. I believe out of guilt, he killed his comrades. The trailer shows how he dealt with her guilt. He made a shrine to her, went crazy, cried all the time. I believe they all knew of her death and his grief, & that’s why they ignored him. He eventually killed them all. I also believe after he killed her, he kept her tongue; and that’s why it was found at the facility. I believe her tongue was cut before she was moved. I also wonder if Kate told Clark Annie’s true motive & he snapped, or did Clark go to Kate afterwards and she recruited Hank to move her! Also, I thought Otis just got shot in the shoulder
Does anyone else think Kate is Hank’s big sister? The way she calls him Henry and is able to manipulate him, that’s the vibe I picked up. If so, poor Pete is gonna have to deal with his evil Aunt in the finale 🫣
this season sux. how is the coast gaurd more competent than detectives? they found a naked body in the ocean at night and also knew it was a suicide....and identified the body immediately. instead of building a story out of cleverly placed clues and using deduction to solve a mystery, ghosts of dead people basically handhold detectives while the audience is bogged down with arbitrary character development.
Hear me out-it’s like Fight Club. Navarro has an alter ego, Rose Agineau, who Navarro sees as a separate person. Unbeknownst to Navarro, her alter ego has an underground following symbolized by the spiral. Blair is one of her followers.
I thought this too, but in the last episode Navarro clearly tells Pete to go and see Rose to hide the bodies, and not him or Danvers reacts in a strange way, apparently they know her too
Theres gina be no payoff with the spiral/Tuttle cult, rust or anything to do with season 1. Its just a cheap way 2 gwt fans of season 1 into this season.
How TF was Otis scoring H all those years on the frigging ice??! Seriously? I know its the least unbelievable thing but its that fact is what makes me wanna go all rust cole on this case! I hope they track down his dealer for some closure. It's the only mystery I'm seeing. I was into this series until episode 4. 4 and 5 feel quite bad. Hmmmm 1 more to go!
My guess is some illegal experimenting with children that died in childbirth, in ice tunnels, it was mentioned in 1st episode, about trying to get cure for cancers etc, olus a bit of supernatural thrown in somehow
A convenient episode filled with relevations to further the plot. The boss somehow knows wheeler case is sus to keep things copasetic. The dad cop doubles down on his corruption to be so sloppy to confront in a house kill a possible witness and then say just so you know i didnt kill annie k i just moved her. His son kills him as he thinks his son wouldn't? I mean the convenient factor in this episode was blatant. It seems the show relies on spooky imagery and slight mystery wrapped in social/family dynamics. The mystery of the show really is what's the endgame? The case of the show really has been minimized and at this point seems to not even matter. Most likely just a show about corruption and marginalization and gentrification of minorities wrapped in family dynamic drama.
The polar bear is missing an eye just like Holden's stuffed bear, so the bear is a symbol of the dead. I knew Hank was involved but I was thinking he was the killer. I was also thinking Evangeline's mother was killed by Hank or whoever the killer is. Or possibly committed suicide just like Julia did. Evangeline, Julia and her mother can see those who have died. Just like Rose.
Wait, how is Navarro involved in the crash that is believed to have killed Liz’s husband and son? This is the first that I’ve heard you mention that her partner was involved and now I’m thinking about how Navarro has had visions of the one eyed bear. Are there other clues / references to this? Did this cause the rift between Navarro and Liz more so than the Wheeler case? Did you explore this theory in an earlier video?
I don’t think it made sense that Hank shot Otis in front of Liz and then tried to kill her. It didn’t fit the character other than to make the story go forward. And then just admit he moved Annie Ks body. Kinda silly. We were supposed to believe he was so depressed from being catfished that he’d do anything??? Last episode better not leave loose ends or wrap things up in a stupid way.
I thought Kate wanted both Otis and Liz out of the picture. Plus, once Hank shot Otis he had to kill Liz or she'd lock him up. I do think Hank rushed into Liz's home without a plan and was forced into making terrible decisions
I agree, which is why I don't think Hank was killing them for such shallow reasons as a promotion and to carry favor with the mining company. The character didn't seem like a complete sociopathic monster. That's why I think he was killing them to protect his son - who is actually the one who killed Annie.
BroFlakes: “SPIRAL!!! Carcosa!!!” 🌀 Critical Thinkers/ Readers: “Navarro is Sedna 🪐. The spiral has been a red herring.” Btw - the answers are in almost every character’s surname.
The spiral Cult is non existent in Ennis, it's a definite red herring along with all season one call backs and it's a cheap plot device that has traded on season one loyalists...that's pathetic writing AND Navarro is not Sedna, another red herring.
I doubt it. The killer is likely going to be a character that has at least some significant development, and preferably one the audience is prompted to like or at least not suspect. My money is on Peter.
I'm left wondering why only 6 episodes? They're doing a great job bringing in the arc but what dumbass producer came up with that arbitrary limit? Is the CEO of HBO buying a new solid gold back scratcher?
I think 10 is ideal. It allows the writers more room to explore the characters or play around in the universe they've created. Some people hate bottle episodes but I think they can be really cool short stories mixed in with the larger narrative. The Last Of Us is a great example of how it can be done well.
We feel bad about Prior only because The writers want us to turn our sight in other direction, Prior is in deed a Pawn of the true evil here, remeber which is the best devil's Trick.😮 it wasn't his dad the one who took leaked the Info from Prior's laptop, it was Prior himself, and he had to shot his dad not for Danvers's life but only because Hank was about to meses a darker and more complicated plot.
That's what I'm thinking too. Though I think Peter does really care for Danvers. His father was going to kill her so she couldn't get to the truth about his son's involvement, but Peter cared too much about her to let it happen.
your favorite? not mine lol. been loving the season so far but i thought this ep was terrible because of the kill scene. that was trash, rushed, and forced in like 2 or 3 different ways

The art direction and set decoration is so convincing.
the Corpsicle is one of the coolest things I've seen in TV
Pete will end up Chief of Police- he basically solved the whole thing.
@@ceciliaSF-TXBoth suck. The kid is the TRUE detective
Pete is super smart and got what it takes to act by shooting dad who was about to kill Liz.
@@ceciliaSF-TX His father was part of the “Team” and so is Connelly. Being part of a team doesn’t mean all are doing TRUE detective stuff. Kid literally solved the crime for them.
It’s very interesting that Annie was the first ghost not to point at Navarro
That's true, good spot!
Aww I’m gonna go down the wormhole with this one. You’re so right though!! Good catch!
It comes full circle as Pete now had to do the very cover up to save himself that he quietly admonished Liz for. So they both redeem each other.
@@jonfreeman9682 Pete had to shoot Hank to save Liz's life. Liz and Navarro executed Wheeler out of choice and did not save the life of his gf.
I am unreasonably invested in Pete and Evangeline’s well-being 😂😂❤
Glad you enjoyed the video! Yeah same here!
great video, my list of things that need go get wrapped up explained are:
1. the tsalal scientists murder 2.
Peter… that kid (cop) is the TRUE Detective.
Ha! Right, he is doing all the work. SMH.
All three - they’re all sacrificing everything to solve the case.
@@ceciliaSF-TX He is doing the TRUE Detective work… which requires intelligence. The other two are bickering and whining for FOUR and a HALF episodes. I almost tapped out.
@@stewartcedres3893
He is doing research, breaking into phones, & following orders.
Exactly! You're right on the pile of clothes!
I think Twist and Shout is the kid's favorite song, and was playing in the car on repeat when he was killed. Wheeler knew it and set Liz off.
I think that story Hank told Pete about saving him from the ice is going to come back when he has to pick the ice with Rose to put the bodies in, I feel like he’s going to see Hank come back to life and pull him down or tempt him to go into the water with him. I feel like there is a reason that story was told.
I think maybe he had something to do with Pete “falling in”…like maybe he was going to k*ll him…before he snapped out off it and then “rescued” him-
Pete will remember what really happened…when he’s there ready to put his dad in…
Ultimately the shot will still be of the current sweeping him away.
Evangeline definitely killed Wheeler. She is the one who was in trouble for it. That’s why Danvers didn’t want to work with here
Yes. And she killed the young wife too. I think she had a break and attacked them both.😊
This isn’t a mystery it was obvious in the first flashback
It could have been Danvers also. Which explains her aversion to the Beattle's song. But Navarro is more likely the killer.
It can be either one! It’s a mystery and all we can do is guess. And does it matter now, they are both covering these two killings!!!
It was Navarro 100%
I hope they also explain why Navarro’s ears were bleeding at the end of the last episode. In this episode picked up a week later with no mention of it.
Yeah, they ignored it for some reason.
She just got curb stomped by a gang of men, so there's that
I figured it was because she got the crap beaten out of her by those guys.
Pete is way more important than anyone realized
Loved this episode and the finale trailer looks great I’m pretty happy with this season
Yeah same here! It's got complexities to it, it's haunting and it's had some great character development!
I don't think we will find out who killed Wheeler, I think the point is that they killed and covered it up making them both culpable. Unless its about Navarro being the overall killer, I dont think it matters who pulled the trigger in this case.
Does anyone know which song Hank played? It has Johny Cash vibes
He wrote that song himself and the director asked him to sing it for the show.
Hank has skills as singer but the first wife didn’t support his desire to pursue a career in music. Now we know he really did have talent & grew resentful for not pursuing that music career. Which is why he didn’t admit to his son that he was singing.
@@mariarosales5240that's amazing. I would like to hear more from him
We also need to find out the deeper meaning of the “she’s awake” hopefully the last episode is hour and a half…it will feel like a movie to close it out
The bear is awake, i belive that the caves are yhe bears homes and the mines can not work in ground where they live
The corpse pyramid was found on a plain and not really buried beneath tons of snow. So.... what avalanche? :) Geez the coverup is so blatant.
Right? Not even trying to cover it up properly. Level of corruption is wild
They mined on ancient burial grounds and woke up Senda
i think pete is the killer.
his dad hank kept saying 'blood is blood' as a reminder to his son that he protected him by moving annie k.'s body... that's why pete shot him, he thought he was going to reveal the truth.
That would be a cool twist! Not long to implement it, but if it's the case then fair!
👏🏼
Can someone explain the wheeler case why did the woman have bruises on wrong side of her face ?
Wheeler was left handed but they didn't know it. Wheeler's "suicide" was by a right handed person's shot to the head. The marks on his wife were from left to right so they flipped the pictures to make it look like a right handed person hit her. At least that is what I think. They didn't realise til after they examined her marks that he had been left handed. So it would point to Liz being the one who shot him as she was on the right.
I don’t know if it’s just me but that ending reminded me so much of the departed
I need the full movie version of this
One thing that has not been explained has been the power outages, surges, weird electrical sounds and random static noises…
Great review. Thank you 😊
Thanks for watching!
I'm hoping that the final episode is 90 minutes. With as much ground as there is to cover, I think the story definitely justifies it.
I love the True Detective stories.I always think this is my favorite one after watching each season.
Oh wow, that's good!
About Hank and Kate...well "we are counting on you" did raise my suspicions when they were first interacting. It just wasn't bluntly obvious .
The kid who was made to ask the right question is going to solve this.
Very true!
What about the fact that they claimed the corpsicle was caused by a weather event? That seemed to be a pretty important part... This was a great episode though!
But the avalanche didn't disturb the neatly folded clothes....there was no avalanche
@@autk It does seem like there wasn't actually an avalance. That would be anticlimactic after all the investigating....
I've heard that the finale is going to be longer. I've heard 80 mins, I've also heard 90 mins, but I can't find anything confirming
My next door neighbour’s name is Peter Pryor from Scotland!
So this is out? I thought they dropped on Sundays?
This episode dropped early cuz this Sunday is the Super Bowl
I didn't see that ending coming!!!!
I thought Pete wasn't gonna shot his dad!!!
Yeah it was a real surprise wasn't it!
Does anyone else think Kate is Hank’s big sister? The way she calls him Henry and is able to manipulate him, that’s the vibe I picked up. If so, poor Pete is gonna have to deal with his evil Aunt in the finale 🫣
interesting! Maybe why she is always asking about Pete
this season sux. how is the coast gaurd more competent than detectives? they found a naked body in the ocean at night and also knew it was a suicide....and identified the body immediately. instead of building a story out of cleverly placed clues and using deduction to solve a mystery, ghosts of dead people basically handhold detectives while the audience is bogged down with arbitrary character development.
Hear me out-it’s like Fight Club. Navarro has an alter ego, Rose Agineau, who Navarro sees as a separate person. Unbeknownst to Navarro, her alter ego has an underground following symbolized by the spiral. Blair is one of her followers.
That would be interesting to be fair!
I thought this too, but in the last episode Navarro clearly tells Pete to go and see Rose to hide the bodies, and not him or Danvers reacts in a strange way, apparently they know her too
Navarro does have an alter ego , it’s senda.
Pete says Rose told him where the bodies were in episode 2, therefore your alter ego theory is Bollocks
I think Rose is suppose to be Rust Cohle's mother.
I don't know what to think about last night's episode!
Theres gina be no payoff with the spiral/Tuttle cult, rust or anything to do with season 1. Its just a cheap way 2 gwt fans of season 1 into this season.
I'm optimistic, so I hope there will be!
How TF was Otis scoring H all those years on the frigging ice??! Seriously? I know its the least unbelievable thing but its that fact is what makes me wanna go all rust cole on this case!

I knew Hank was involved but I was thinking he was the killer. I was also thinking Evangeline's mother was killed by Hank or whoever the killer is. Or possibly committed suicide just like Julia did. Evangeline, Julia and her mother can see those who have died. Just like Rose.

I think Navarro will find out her native name last episode
it has an overall feel like Twin Peaks
Wait, how is Navarro involved in the crash that is believed to have killed Liz’s husband and son? This is the first that I’ve heard you mention that her partner was involved and now I’m thinking about how Navarro has had visions of the one eyed bear. Are there other clues / references to this? Did this cause the rift between Navarro and Liz more so than the Wheeler case? Did you explore this theory in an earlier video?
Some people say why only 6 episodes, like season 1 had 20. Season 1 had only 8 episodes.
Where the hell did you watch episode 5? Iant it out tomorrow?
It was out Friday on the app
Super Bowl was the reason

The final episode is an hour and a half luckily.
So I predict that the scientists/the mine were responsible for Annie's death and that Raymond Clark killed the scientists in revenge.
Interesting thought! Could be the case
I doubt it. The killer is likely going to be a character that has at least some significant development, and preferably one the audience is prompted to like or at least not suspect. My money is on Peter.

Yeah it is true! I'd have liked at least 8!
Only 6?season 1 had only 8 episodes, not that much more
I think 10 is ideal. It allows the writers more room to explore the characters or play around in the universe they've created. Some people hate bottle episodes but I think they can be really cool short stories mixed in with the larger narrative. The Last Of Us is a great example of how it can be done well.
This last episode will be the first time someone else will see Rose. Or maybe they wont.

it wasn't his dad the one who took leaked the Info from Prior's laptop, it was Prior himself, and he had to shot his dad not for Danvers's life but only because Hank was about to meses a darker and more complicated plot.
That's what I'm thinking too. Though I think Peter does really care for Danvers. His father was going to kill her so she couldn't get to the truth about his son's involvement, but Peter cared too much about her to let it happen.
