Don't worry it took use ages to get a Staffordshire council farm just keep trying now .because they like you keep putting in for them because than .they know your keen to get one we manged to get one in 1993 .after 5 years . But what we found they don't like letting a farm close to your family farm because they think it's just away obtaining extra land to your farm. They want you miles away so you can farm in your own right . Especially a starter farm. Keep trying your get there. In the end. 😊

It is a rental farm intended as a way into the industry for young farmers. Owned and let by the local authority. Many councils have sold their farms in a very short sighted policy decision.

It's not the NFU meeting, it's an individual protest rally apparently
NFU have thrown the farmers under the tractor. All part of the plan!

Out of my ignorance, what is a council farm?
It is a rental farm that the council rent out. They are 10 year tenancies normally on a smaller scale farm to get people on the ladder
