@@pingspiritpingspirit4099 complètement d'accord... J'espère qu'il aura cette confiance au Champions ce weekend à Montpellier pour voir ce que ca donne un Alex en top forme contre un LJK ou LSD.
Looking at this game it's unreal that Duda managed to defeat Felix. I don't think Alexis even thought for a second he could lose this, the difference between players is night and day. Congrats to Alexis for an extremely dominant tournament, lost only 3 sets over all the singles bracket !
Duda has played Dang Qiu (they've been doubles partners) too many times to find anything especially mysterious in Felix. Alexis is multipace trickster animal; not like Moregardh, but still tricky, and very powerful off both wings.
watching it in person it was even more impressive just how dominant Alexis was in that game. at all points his returns his serves his loops and his placement was just better.
It is also a mental thing. Duda got the final and stopped as it is a great achivement for him any way. But for Alexis only gold... so he was more hungry. With Felix he played his best tennis as no pressure he was underdog and Felix waant ready as thought it would be easy
Sad that the final was a no-match, but happy for Alexis 👍🏻 In France, he’s a bit less in the spotlight than his younger brother, so I hope this will open some eyes 🧐
I admire Alexis here, since 2nd semester of 2023 he has been struggling against european opponents while his brother was successful, so Alexis was left in the shadows of Felix, but he never gave up and now he delivered such performance in this tournament, destroying the top europeans. This gives me WTTC 1997 Waldner vibes.
Yep, this single day performance is one of the best levels of TT ever displayed by a player for sure. Moregardh and Duda bring beaten so convincingly is not something that happens often, talk less of by the same player at the same event.
Alexis had a wonderful championship in singles and doubles. I hope he can keeping this incredible level and getting more titles. These brothers are offering fresh faces and a varied style to this sport. Congratulations 👏. Duda did well too.
The scoreline indicates a level difference but I think it was mostly a tactical issue. Duda had been surprising favorites before with his counterattack tactics, sending deep backspin balls to elicit a slow loop and then counterloop. Alexis carefully avoided the bait in the opening set and gradually found a balance between waiting for the attack himself or going all out. On occasion, Alexis lifted the ball rather than looping, which Duda sent into the net because of the lack of incoming topspin. Duda didn't have a plan B, understandably, as he's probably slightly inferior in every aspect of the game. In the final set Alexis was in the zone and Duda had already bailed out.
@@robertberneda6538 wang chuqin lost to Lind and Swedish guy, so Alexis is likely to win the game against him. Alexis defeated Felix before. The other two top ten players named Lin are in the same level as Alexis
he finally stepped out of his brother Felix's shadow after almost two years. A talented family. We are waiting for the matches with the Chinese - maybe we will finally be able to get a bigger one in the international tour. It will certainly be very difficult.
Alexis under a cool and composed mind is a nightmare for opponents. Powerful thunderous attacks and counter topspins, creativity, chopblocks, slice, chops, far from table, serves, he got it all.
Alexis Lebrun is simply unplayable! Duda never stood a chance. Man, such power, such deadly speed from Lebrun. Well, we need to see Lebrun against Lin Shidong.
When Felix loses a tournament Alexis really can perform his best table tennis. I guess he doesn’t has to compare himself to his younger brother and just play then.
he was already on fire against Redzimsky in the 1/8 , it was just amazing, from this game, I said I would hate being Alexis opponent on this tournament. It's definitely not what you think
Unfortunately Duda could not hold his level against a very strong opponent, who kind of overrun him from the beginning. Alexis had an answer to everything. Very impressive! In the semi-final against Ovtcharov Duda showed what he's capable of. Great tournament by Duda and great achievement by Alexis Lebrun!
I think the semi final v Truls was even more impressive. However 3 matches in the same day is a bit much ( Sunday). And Saturday was even crazier with 4 matches if you played doubles like he did with Félix. It should be better organized.
How are those services of him not illegal? Throws are not from flat hand, throws are diagonal instead of vertical and they almost disappear behind him. 😂 I remember a match where his coach got angry of the many services that were declared illegal. But I can see why now. 😂 Furthermore a well deserved victory!
Alexis is often considered the number 2 behind his brother, but Félix hasn't won anything. Alexis is the best player in France, a three-time French champion, and today, the European champion in both singles and doubles. His world ranking doesn't reflect his current level, as he's much more mature in his game than his brother and has fewer weaknesses. His weakness used to be mental, but he's worked on it, and he needed to break into the top 15 to get better draws at the start of competitions. However, when Alexis gets past the first two rounds, he's extremely hard to beat. I hope he'll confirm his title as the best European player at the upcoming WTT Champions in Montpellier.
Felix won the european games and of course does the world ranking reflect it. If you compare how often Alexis lost against other european players instead of Felix it totally makes sense.
Here are some of the titles that Felix Lebrun has won: In 2017, he became the youngest national champion in his age category. In 2021, he won all three gold medals at the European Youth Championship. @@baracuda9873 Not all players have the same development curve. Alexis did what was necessary in his game to pose a serious problem for the Chinese, and he had been injured before, which is not the case for his brother.
A. Lebrun is a beast no doubt about it - but watching those serves is an absolutely disgrace. He's literally stretching his arm forwards to throw it as much backwards as possible. Textbook cheating. Not that it mattered Duda didnt seem to have problem with the serves but it's still disgraceful especially from the lack of care from the umpires

Also the last time Duda faced Felix Lebrun, he almost won that as well. Duda might have made some micro-adjustments to beat Felix squarely this time.
