UK Secretary of State for Defence visits NAS Patuxent River

  • The Right Honourable Philip Hammond M.P. Secretary of State for Defence United Kingdom visited Naval Air Station Patuxent River Md., May 1, 2013 to witness an F-35B execute a short takeoff and vertical landing. Following the flight, Mr. Hammond and U.K. National Deputy for the JSF Group Captain Harv Smyth commented on the aircraft's capability and what it will mean for British industry.

    F-35B is expensive now which is the only prob with it. its maneuverable, controllable, IT HOVERS!, its VERY stealthy, it has the best avionics on the planet, its has a nice payload BUT it price is going down and very fast its estimated to cost around as much as an F-16 which is very cheap. to many haters of the F-22 and F-35 because $ when the F-22 price was down to $150m each is about same as a euro-fighter and its production was only stopped not because couldn't buy any more F-22s
