- These are all the artworks from the "Default Cube Render Challenge" community contest held in July 2022. Hundreds of artists participated and the results were amazing.

How did you make the lighting
@@electrflix With a Tutorial from Bad Normals called Realisitic Lightnings in Blender 3.0. After that I made a shape key and animated it amateurly with that.

So many cool works & looking at some of them it's very strange how they didn't make the Top 100.
And from viewing all these works, I couldn't help but notice how many Rubik's cubes.
Well, my Top 5 works that I like the most:
1. 08:13 (CoPrime Guy). It's like fragment from some cartoon and I like how the main character looks & such spectacular dynamic scene.
2. 08:28 (Jasper Pagan). It reminds me of favorite episode about crabs from tv series "Love, death & robots."
3. 25:37 (Matthew Reeve). It's cool color palette that catches my eye here.
4. 07:15 (CFX graphics). Beautiful location & there is has certain mystery to these ruins.
5. 34:04 (Satysfying Cube). Lives up to its name & works sticky.

First of all, thanks to Bad normals for organizing this challenge and congratulations to the Blender community who wanted to participate and created some impressive works!
But I think I should make a very simple criticism, without undervaluing other works, I simply think that the criteria for placing some works at the top was not at the level it should be, there are many works by other colleagues that had a high level and did not enter.
In the video next to the names of some artists it says 'default cube render challenge' and I think it's superfluous.
That said, I hope that you will organize more challenges over time to be able to continue participating, since I had a very interesting experience creating while I was able to obtain and give feedback to other artists.

Thank you mark for making this happen this is my first ever contest and i had an insane amount of fun on this one.
These projects blew me and my idea out of the water! You guys are so amazing and inspiring. Sadly, I didn't make top 100, but that's okay. We'll get em next time.
Mine's at 25:43 , the chess one. I really learned a lot about problem solving with this project, and how to bring concepts into reality. Might make a breakdown video just for fun.

Mine at 15:12... Glad it atleast got in the list.. the idea was of a Frog Lord keeping a deadly snake as pet that eats human.. the number of humans it eats the number of hand grows on its body.. all the hands you see are on the snake's body.. that was the idea in my mind but couldnt execute it better :(

i wish i a was a 3d modeler and bring all my imagination to real life ................i got lucky of going to sleep and waking up remembering 1/2 of my dreams but i am so sad that i couldn't do 3D animation i wish i could find someone and give him /her a crazy idea i have in my mind,,,,,,,,,,if there is anyone here who is good in 3D animation but hasn't enough idea please reach to me i will give you crazy idea

Mine's at 10:49. It was my first time doing a real project and it was awesome to use some of the things I've learned about blender and composition in general (such as forced perspective)

Although I couldn't make to top100, I enjoyed doing this challenge and made me learn so much, it showed me where I stand as a blender artist and where to direct myself. Thank you BadNormals, I look forward to the next challenge.
Did you spin the hypercube yourself or used a baked one?
