As a DMC player, the combat in this game is pretty easy but layered enough for me to creatively air juggle a poor hopeless enemy for a bit of time.

It's not that easy for me... combat is tricky at times but once you hone in and stay crisp with watching enemies combos and switching eikons it truly opens up.
Game itself reminds me of a mature Final Fantasy 12... love it so far
If you want it to make it easy for you just wear the ring thats lets you do combos just by pressing square button.
@@Disto97Rings were supposed to be used by disabled people or people who only want to experience the story. It's an accessibility feature in disguise...
This game is amazing, the combat is just as amazing
It's very basic with nice graphics it's a button masher.
I’m finding the combat to be quite dull. Other than the flashy animations it is quite simple.

Not sure why but in the gameplay trailers it felt like the controls were stiff. Actually playing the game felt very responsive.

If you dont hit anyone and just wait , enemies are pretty slow to react and attack. Shame that this game does not offer much difficulty.
They get more aggressive in NG+

No. You might have a piece of jewelry equipped that assists abilities during combat.
You probably have ring of timely strikes equipped

Control Scheme A makes the most sense to me since the HUD layout matches the position of the buttons

Air juggle like dmc and nier automata
Never played a final fantasy game before. Wondering why enemy health bars are so big ? Hits barely take of anything from them.
Cause its a dmc style game where you go for combos with every move linking together
This is one of the worst final fantasy games made. Now that DOES NOT mean it’s a bad game, it just doesn’t “feel” like final fantasy at all, even comparing it to XV and VII remake real time combat. This game feels like a combination of Strangers in Paradise, The Witcher and Nioh. The game feels like a Koei Tecmo game

There are genuinely some solid combos you could pull off with every ability of the game combined.
There is plenty the game doesn't tell you in terms of combat regardless of the fact that it is easy.

Hint: Square, square, square, square. This is the entire game. Or square ∆, square ∆, square ∆, square ∆ if you want some variety. No I'm not joking. This game has one attack button, square. No heavy attack and just the one combo... 😐😐😐
It in fact does have a form of heavy attacks called “extreme” you just have to meet the requirements in battle to do them
"Just the one combo" sure, if you ignore aerial/stomp combos and downthrust, eikonic attacks, charged attacks, charged magic, lunging, parrying, dodge counters, mortal blows, and using torgol to initiate/extend combos... then there's only one combo.
dude even in demo, ppl use way more combo than just square and triangle. stop embarrassing youself.
