@@setonhillstudios I'm Sub'd and ready for your Ren rollercoaster ride. Your buddy picked up on 2 big things, 1) Sting and The Police were musical influences on Ren's music & 2) Jeff Buckley was influential in Ren's vocal development as well 👍. Ren has mentioned in multiple interviews on who, how and what contributed to the development of his musical career. Ren is self taught in all these areas: Guitar, bass, piano, drums, singer/songwriter, rapper, poet, storyteller, actor, director, and studio producer and he's also a proficient beatboxer. When he was younger he used to play video recordings & constantly rewind over and over, learning licks from Jimmy Hendrix, John Frusciante and Django Reinhardt (acoustic Jazz Guitarist). He did the same with the other instruments he play's and even learned vocal tips & techniques from vocal instructors on YT, helping him improve his range and dynamics. Ren said it got much easier for him to learn more & quicker when YT started up in & around 2006. FYI, The Big Push also do a live recorded cover of Sting's "Englishman In New York". It's a great video that his videographer Samuel Perry set up using multiple camera's for a 1 take and then edited together. Personally I think Ren's version is better then Stings. Cheers boy's, 🍻looking forward to your next reaction from this incredibly versatile rabbit hole. ✌😎
From this same Big Push busking session, check out their take on _"War Pigs"_ It's so damned good it ought to be illegal. I rate it even better than this _"I shot the Sheriff"_ segment - and the crowd really nut out! Any more of that energy and he'd have shut down the city centre completely : ))))
Great reaction guys the other guitarist is Romain Axisa, strongly recommend checking out his solo material .. Turn the lights down is one of my favourites, funny you mentioned Sting check out there cover of English man in New York,be good to hear your thoughts.. looking forward to the next one 👍👍
Romain is def worth checking out but then again so is every other artist you'll come to see ren collab with!! Sam.. chinchilla.. eden... to name a few... are all insanely talented
Romaine on lead guitar, Gorran on bass, and Glen on drums. Every song they do is different. Sometimes Ren is on bass. Sometimes Romaine sings. Sometimes Gorran sings. For one of their original songs, I suggest Watch Out from this same busking session. A fun song with beautiful harmonies would be Praise You (fatboyslim cover). But literally, I love everything this band does. ❤
If you don’t mind, throw that suggestion on the community tab thread so we don’t forget it. 🙏🏻 You could definitely tell the Sting influence with this performance! 🔥
Ren has just won songwriter of the year award. Micannes award. To experience Ren exceptional brilliance you need to dive into earlier songs too. Hold on, do you believe (bluesy) penitence (hard hitting) depression and insomnia. Humble and Ocean (island vibes/reggae/ska) everybody drops, ready for you (illness and acceptance and questioning) soooo many AMAZING older songs and then you should do SEVEN SINS next. Incredible opening song of his sick boi album. Great reaction guys.
THIS is the Definition of 'Professional'. It might be rare these days and / or in places like the US, where overly produced sanitised and formulaic genre-locked music is the 'norm' in the Industry, but out on the streets, busking, watching what the crowd likes - or doesn't! - is where real Musicians cut their teeth and honed their craft. Ren is both old and new school. As you say; he is unique, a true sponge and Synth - of a multitude of influences. And beautifully blended he is blazoning an inspirational path back to the place where creativity - and connectivity - lives.
I've always assumed the glove might be to ease neuropathy, but maybe you're right about it being for tone. The second guitarist's name is Romain Axisa, and he's got some great solo work as well. Ren has studied Jeff Buckley's vocals a lot.
I never tire of this performance. Back in The Big Push days of roughing it in Brighton. They were much loved as a working band. I think they bring it together beautifully -very exciting, raw and riveting music. Great reaction thank you 🙏🏽 ❤
Thank you for explaining what the glove could be used for, i figured it was something like that but it makes so much sense! Enjoy the big push, they are incredible 😊💜💜
You need to react to The Big Push’s cover of “War Pigs”….. yes he sounds like sting here but the cover to “Englishman in New York “ for the full effect!
Ren and his team are some of the most genuine and fun humans you will ever come across! My fav is when they go live on Twitch and hang out with us lol. Ren holds the same energy in his music as he does in interviews, behind the scenes videos (there's quite a few out there), and live on Twitch/YT! Loved this reaction, y'alls smile had me smilin!

It's usually Samuel Perry-Falvey manning the camera on the earlier busking videos, but Luke Flegg (who also filmed the one-shot music videos for Murderer and Animal Flow) does a fair number of live vids too, and Josh Stiles picked up the camera for a few of them.
I love this performance so much! Thanks for the reaction and thanks for supporting Ren and his associates. So much to discover. Join the Renegades and enjoy! ☮️❤️😎

Just a quick comment on the sound - when he did his interview with the Charismatic Voice he went into detail about the audio on his one takes with the lapel mics (obviously this was just street busking) but he doesn't just run it through logic. He manually goes through adjusting sound levels etc for every word and only just recently for Money Game 3 good a really good lapel. Previously they were cheap ones. IIRC he said just on that manual adjusting it's 8-10 hours for a track.
That’s wild! Thanks for letting us know! As an audio production company it’s always interesting to see how different artists approach recording their tunes.
@@setonhillstudios he spent a lot of time cleaning it up in production. The interview is worth a watch, he's done other interviews with reactors but this is the one he talks more about the production side of things
Really good reaction, thank you, Both you have got to do The Big Push - Wade in the water / Nina simone / Trouble so hard. Make sure both of you though!
It's entirely possible that the glove is to effect the sound of the guitar but there is another possibility. Ren suffered joint damage during the many years that his Lyme disease was undiagnosed. There is at least one other video showing him shaking his hand hard when he finished a song. So the other possibility is that he's trying to keep that hand warm to reduce pain. I really hope that sound is the reason, not pain.

Back to Ren guys this is really y’all’s first time hearing his singing voice and I personally love it more than his rap side and that’s saying something guys because when y’all get to that side it’s top shelf quality grade A but I just love his voice. Anyways I think his busking video with Sam and songs Earned It/Man’s World/Fallen in one video is my favorite singing and love his guitar in it as well. But don’t get this Sam confused with his videographer Samuel who is actually in his video Power driving the car and dancing with Ren! Okay guys great one see y’all later I got some Angelina Jordan reactions to check out she just dropped her latest of her singing Unchained Melody with the KORK orchestra at the Nobel Peace Prize concert on dec 11th and it’s just HYPNOCTIC gentlemen!

He also loves Sting and The Police. ❤❤ OUT OF ALL THE 100S OF REACTIONS I HAVE WATCHED OF THIS SONG, YOU ARE THE ONLY PERSON TO EVER SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THE GLOVE. 😮 I HAVE NEVER HEARD IT MAJES A DIFFERENT IN SOUND. BUT YOU ARE PROBLEM 100% RIGHT. EVERYTHING REN DOES SERVES SOME KIND OF PURPOSE TO HIS ARTISTRY. HE IS SELF TAUGHT BY LISTINI G TO JIMMY HENDRICKS AND PAUSING THE TAPE. YES TAPE! LOL. ALSO LISTENI TO THE ALL THE GOATS IN HISTORY OF HIP HOP TO LEARN HIS RAPPING STYLES AND LISTENING TO CLASSICAL PIANO TO LEARN TO PLAY. A LOT OF THINGS HE DOES MAYBE ARE NOT "TECHNICAL". BUT IM NO GUITAR PLAYER JUST SOME GIRL WHO BECAME A RENAGADE ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO BEFORE REN BLEW UP. HE IS TRULY THE MOST DESERVING PERSON AND I MEAN THAT LITTERALLY. WHAT 12 YEAR OLD SITS OUTSIDE MUSIC FESTIVALS PLAYING THE DEMOS HE MADE IN HIS ROOM ON A BOOMBOX AND SELLING THEM? 😊 GREAT REACTION GUYS KEEP EM COMMING.
I think you maybe the only American reactors to identify Ska ❤ In the UK we know Ska but 99.9% of Americans have no idea. 😊 respect. The camera was shit though lads. Complete amateur hour. 😂 This wasn’t one of his Sam videos. This is just raw.

thank you for reacting to my favourite artist ever and his band big push you should checkout swan song by the big push its amazing sending big love from the UK ❤❤❤
Appreciate you watching!! ❤️
Please try Romain's retake of the classic GEORGIA ON MY MIND Busking solo or his Collab with Ren FRENCH SONG 🎶🎵🍯🤌🔥🔥🙏✌️
Oh I bet that’s 🔥 🔥…Thanks!
Check out The Big Push's cover of War pigs, literally perform after this song.
Awesome reaction, thanks Gents 🙏🦉❤️🐊👍

New subscriber here for your Ren reactions. Great reaction guys, Im off tocheck out all your previous ones now 😊
Thanks for the sub and swinging by! We appreciate it! 🙏🏻
@@setonhillstudios You should check out The Big Push doing War Pigs. It was filmed right after this song and Romain does a brilliant guitar solo in it.
Ren has a million different musical influences, but he’s admitted one of his biggest is Jeff Buckley
You can definitely hear that in this performance especially
Was set to tell you guys a bunch of stuff, but renegades don’t play 😂
Looks like they covered everything already. Good stuff 👍
🤣😂🤣 Yeah they’ve been going in! It’s all good though. We are all about learning and growing! Appreciate you swinging by 😎
I suggest The Big Push. "These Boots are Made for Walking... " Another great mash up in a laundromat.
🙏🏻
This was a great reaction. I really enjoyed it. I’m a new sub and can’t wait to see more. Just an FYI Ren will say that Jeff Buckley is one of his biggest influences. He also loves Sting and The Police. You should check out him and Sam Tompkins busking doing a “Walking on the Moon” cover and The Big Push doing “Englishman in New York!”You can’t go wrong with any of his busking videos! TBP did a “War Pigs” mashup in the busking session that this video today was done, and I highly recommend it as well. Welcome to the RENiverse! ❤️🔥✌🏻🫶🏻
Thanks so much!! Appreciate you checking it out and shooting us a comment! We are all about meeting you all and sharing a common love of music!
Great reaction! #TheBigPush
Thank you!! 🙏🏻
Jeff Buckley is another one of his big influences! ❤
hey brothers, check out Trick the Fox. it's Ren before life kicked him in the nuts. it has a tone of a whole different person. the guitarist is Romain like the lettuce.
Soo great. Thanks 🎉
Glad you liked it!
Great reaction - dig that Jeff Buckley ref - art before pleasing. Although great art will please. Ta lads.
Fantastic reaction guys. Ren is amazing!!!
Thanks!!
❤
Thanks for watching!
You have to see their War Pigs one
Great reaction. Sam shots all his videos like he produces all his own stuff. Beats everything. Check out The Hunger and Illest of out Time to see his rap skills and chalk outlines for singing. Live version of CO.
Will do!! Appreciate it! 😀
No Ren has different videographers- Sam did not generally film the busking, I think it was Luke who filmed this.
@@jeanwye k. In an interview I thought he said Sam has done his videos. Maybe just as Ren?
Nice job guys!
Thanks so much!
Since you mentioned Sting you should check out The Big Push - English Man IN New York next.
Swing on over to our community tab and add it there if you don’t mind. Appreciate it! 🤘🏻
Sam has done some of the camera busking vidoes, but not all, so not sure who did it this day.
Gotcha. Appreciate it! 🤘🏻
Next Big Push.. "Watch Out" live version
Thanks for the suggestion!
❤️🔥
they produce the live street performances audio to get it sounding great... so its not like if you recorded it on your iphone at a concert.
Makes sense! Appreciate it!
I imagine Romain, the guitarist, is so happy because he gets to go commando.
🤣
Thanks for watching!! We appreciate the comment and you swinging by! 🤘🏻
Nice reaction ❤ You need to check out The Big Push cover of War Pigs and Paint it Black
Thanks!!
Do their next set too. War Pigs mash up
On the list! Thank ya! 🤘🏻
I know Ren is blowing up, but The Big Push is FIRE! They could be huge.
💯 Straight 🔥 🔥
💪🔥
I think you maybe the only American reactors to identify Ska ❤ In the UK we know Ska but 99.9% of Americans have no idea. 😊 respect.
The camera was shit though lads. Complete amateur hour. 😂 This wasn’t one of his Sam videos. This is just raw.
🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for watching!! 🤘🏻
#RENaissance
Let’s gooooo!!! 🤘🏻
I don’t know if you know this is a live busking act and not a music video and thats why it feels raw and organic
💯 From what I can tell, a lot of his stuff feels that way. Even his music videos, the way they are shot and performed. Thanks for swinging by! Appreciate it
War Pigs, PLEASE!
It seems there is nothing Ren does that isn't intentional. He's not keeping his hand warm.
Great reaction. 😊
However,
1st rule of reactors - dont interrupt a solo = sacrilige lol
😂🤣
What can't he do?
*Miss*
Haha 🤣😂 Got em’ 😎
