when i worked at somerfield stores we had 2 and used to race them around the warehouse, fun times. at work we used to call them "pump trucks" is that not what they're called?
We called em Pallet Jacks and man our warehouse was almost a perfect oval and we would swing them around the corners lol. I use to call it Jack Drifting lol
Have used one of these many times and never really considered all the working parts or any kind of restoration. Thanks for this and GREAT WORK !!!!!!!!!!
Great job. I just refurbished mine last week. I paid $10 for the jack but it didn’t work so I stripped it down and replaced two seals that cost $10.70 for the pair. Like you all the wheels and grease points got sorted and now for $20.70 I have a pallet jack that will see me out. I made also made custom pallets out of railway sleepers and put my heavy machines on them and now I can easily move them around. It’s one of the handiest tools I have. 😂😂 Cheers Stuart 🇦🇺
I work at a grocery store as a night stocker and we use these every night. Funny thing is we have more broken pallet jacks than ones in actual working order. Anyway, great video.
I’m a forklift tech and can tell you, with the labor price we charge, plus traveling for parts. Almost anything being fixed will cost more than a new pallet jack
Cca 2000 i used to work in an electronics store, carying boxes with dvds, coffemakers, dusters, with forks like this. On the way back to the storage area, i used to ride them like a foldable scooter. 😂 Fun days.
Awesome Rebuild brother.. pallet Jack's are worth 379.00 new from Raymond, you just made yourself a good paycheck. Great job. Use coffee filters to filter your decreasing solvent, it'll last a lot longer..
That pallet Jack sure had a lot more parts than I thought it would... Nice job.. Take a couple bucks and get you a decent work bench and get your work up off the ground.. again, nice video...
Amazing that you found the bearing for it. Hard work does pay off. Those front wheels, I just bought the all the wheels. The same with the back wheels. Fine job there man. Nice and clean and will last another ten to fifteen years.
When I used to work in a supermarket I used to unload trucks with a palette jack just like that one, wow that brings back a lot of memories, 40 years ago
I couldn't take one of these apart much less put it back together. And you did most of the work on the ground in a squat position. I can't do that either. I was longing for a workbench. Great work and you have a genius mechanical mind.

you have a warehouse scooter by pumping the handles side to side you can get going quite fast and by turning the handle where the wheels are facing the side you have brakes lol try it it's fun
Beautiful job bro , excellent work . I used many of those in my day but wouldn't have a clue about restoring one, thanks for sharing this video with us all .
Nice video!! When hammering in a Bearing. Always hit the race where the smallest tolerance is or use a bearing mounting tool. Or you can use the old bearing to absorb some impact.
its a wheel bearing that's never going to go any faster then 5km/h it wont hurt if it was a combine rotor bearing yea don't just hammer that shit in unless you work at a John Deere factory where its SOP to just smash it in.
I agree... his method can cause brinelling of the races .. which is not good even in low speeds. He could avoid it by putting a flat plate on before direct hitting.
good video, glad to see you put in new ball bearings in the wheels only thing I would also do is put a foam strip on the top of the forks as a bit of padding
What a cool restoration! It is wonderful to see something unusable being brought back to full functionality again! (Just one suggestion: I found your music to be so annoying that I had to turn off the sound... Have you ever thought about not having background music? A lot of us like to hear the general sounds of your work, such as hammering, without music added!)
i agree with you Donna, i like restauration channel with no bckg music to. But i have see some with and its depend of what music is playing, techno (or similar) its not good for audience, and you need to put volume to be barely ear.

TOP RESTORATION JOB WILL ALWAYS GIVE A GOOD LIFT NICE COLOR CHOICE.
Thanks bro
If you've never rode one of those like a scooter throughout the warehouse then you're truly not a man lol
Many times. The older models weren't as top heavy and were better for sliding around corners.
Bit hard to steer haha
And clipped a pallet, and gone over the top!

Forklift truck????? You mean pallet jack!!!!!!!
Awesome video but just a quick tip you can burn the camera sensor by filming the welding arc.
What is that color ? Does it have a ral paintcode ?

0:57 anyone noticed he was faking the jack wasnt working by holding the little release lever? great dismantle and mantle!!
Eso no es fork lift
Eso es un pallet jack
Great job adjusting those front wheels. Other fork is much higher than the other.
Cool 👍👍👍👍

I have alot of experience with what we call "pallet jacks",....and its interesting to see one rebuilt.
Bud White same machine
Nice 👍🏾
Well done! That is worth something in a warehouse!
Good video👌
That style of pump truck hasn't changed over the years. Just slight design changes. Always seems to be the same orange colour.
Over here we call them pallet jacks, great restoration.
Same in Australia 🇦🇺
Magnifique 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
That's not a fork lift, it's a pallet jack. Completely different machine.
looks simple but a lot of difficult details .. thanks for the video showing me how to remove them
Excelente trabajo, felicitaciones!!
I've seen a lot of forklifts over the years, but this is the coolest one so far. It surpasses by far the one with an Hello Kitty sticker.
thanks you very much. Have a nice day
Very nice, maybe you should have some thick protection film on the forks to protect that nice paintjob. :)
How did push the big spring back?
Excellent job! Not big on that color but it’s still nice. I thought you’d go with yellow and black... Thanks for sharing😉
you have a warehouse scooter by pumping the handles side to side you can get going quite fast and by turning the handle where the wheels are facing the side you have brakes lol try it it's fun
I was told 50 years ago that this is a pallet jack . Cool job taking it from junk to a useful

Its a pallet jack, not a forklift. But I like the color - that will make it lift more. :D
Excellent work, sir. My sincerest compliments.
