Jason thanks for coming out and doing the video and the interview. Really appreciate you spending the afternoon with us helping getting the word out on the new and improved Claas 8600TT.
cant get over how quiet it is in the cab we have the old 760tt and like it very much it is a corn eating machine with our 16 row head grain cart driver gets a workout and trucks as well. with the new improvements its got to be an awsome machine
We run two (consecutive serial numbers) Lexion 590R combines in central ND. We farm roughly 5800 acres, and grow spring wheat, durum, flax, edible beans, soybeans, corn, and some years sunflowers. In the wheat, durum, flax, and beans we run 40ft MacDon flexdraper headers, which in my opinion is the best header ever made. We have a 16 row (30 inch) Lexion corn header, and only run one combine in corn. The output from one Lexion in corn is enough some days to overwhelm the grain cart and trucks, even with the smaller corn yields from the 80/85 day corn grown this far north. In the sunflowers we use an F35 Lexion header with sunflower pans and reel, as well as a Sunmaster header. The 7000/8000 series Lexion combines address every issue we have with our 500 series combines, mainly the grain tank size. The 590R only has a 360 bushel grain tank, so 510 is a massive improvement.
That is one fine looking machine! Again as I’ve said before we need some dealers in the southeast Georgia because all we have is deers. Thanks again BTP!
I am retired now , the fellow that bought me out just ran over a 460 acre field of barley here in Saskatchewan with 4 8600 machines . Now I want to start farming again 😁
we have tried everything other then gleaner and new holland.. currently running a 470r and a 580r lexion.. best machines we have used by far in pretty much every area. my biggest gripe would probaby be the dust and crop buildup on the header but otherwise there is nothing
That was interesting info on how the tracks work compared to other manufacturer tracks. It would be nice to see a demonstration of that, to see if it really works that way.
@@heinrichthiessen3953 I expect the Ideal 10 and 8900 to be very similar... its the same engine, but the Fendt has bigger rotors. But the Claas has the pre-threshing system. Should be close!
great video we have the grand father of this claas an 480 from the year 2001 and is still running great with it 10 000 engine hours and about 6500 seperator hours on in . it is running in ukraine along with a john deere cts harvester and a new holland cr980 harvester
Very nice. The 480R and 485R were the first Lexions solid in the United States starting in the fall of 1998. They were sold under the Caterpillar name. That is impressive how many hours you have put on your 480. Thank you for sharing.
@@bigtractorpower before we buy this from denmark we also was looking at one 480r cat 4wd that came originally from illinois mostly gone cutting corn and it was presentet with a grain header type claas that came from a burnt combiner from denmark . but we got an better deal and the 480 had lower hours than the 480r and it had a very caring owner from new so we whent fore the 480 and never regret it
We have a 2018 740 and rented an 8600 for the fall, i thought the 740 was a corn eating monster with the 12/30 geringhoff until i carted beside the 8600, definately an animal all its own
Nice! It eats corn fast. Any corn going over the sieve ? And out the back ? Soon we need a 1000 hp peterbilt pulling 2 hopper trailers at 1 time to keep up with that combine.
My old boss just traded their 760tt for one of these. Couldn't get an 8700 none available. But this combine has the same wide body as the bigger models and although it is only a class ,8 machine with all new improvements will do the same capacity as the old class 9 760tt possibly a little more lot bigger grain tank which is a plus and unloads lot faster bu per minute
I have not spent enough time around the X9 and Ideal to say. From my observation over the past 20 years Claas makes a solid machine. The harvest fast and process good grain.
@@ДаніельРіккіардо we had oppotunity for testing X9 against our old 760ttyear ago but john deere was afraid to put it in the same field. no show. X9 is big but i would put my money on the claas any day. the 760tt had the world record going for few years on most bushels combined per hr 8hr 10hr and 12 hr intervals havent heard any new ones lately but that 8900 claas should take the record easy but its not marketed in US.
Although it's an class 8 combine it has the same wide body as class 9 8700 has the same 510 bu capacity grain tank and is said to perform as well if not better than the Old 760 class 9.
The new 510 bu 8600/8700/8800 are impressive. I have filmed the 8600 in corn and the 8700 in soybeans. I have found filming a 7500 it will out work a Deere S790 in corn.
Didn't catch if he said the price. Would like to see a price comparison of the combine manufacturers. Deere, Case, Massey, New Holland, Gleaner, Fendt, etc.
@@bigtractorpower wow, I was thinking that claas is on the lead, very interesting , is there any chance that X9 will be as good as this two in fuel efficienci? Do farmers in USA care about fuel economy? here in Europe it's quite important, thanks for reply
looking on the Claas website, the 8600 terra trac has a 425 bushel grain tank, not 385 like it says in your video description. Also, its the wheeled lexion 8600 that has the 510 bushel grain tank
@@tsint oh, what was shown on the website was a bit confusing, I thought the wheeled version of the combine had a bigger grain tank. Thanks for clearing up the confusion
5.2 mph in 200 bushel corn with that head is 3780 bushels per hour. That’s if you drive straight forever and ever. Never turn around, never stop. I’d bet he never hit 5000 instantaneous bph and is probably averaging in real life close to 2500bph. Time for people to stop the exaggerating.
This thing mows that corn down quick smart,, I am empressed, yep! I also like that new steering app that sticks up from the steering wheel, Not. I still can't understand as to why you would still have such a annoying attachment on the steering wheel. The old days yes but in this day and age? 🤔, Just putting it out there, Me I hated the bloody things, Dam near broke my wrist more than once,
wow, 5.8 bushels per second is an awfully fast unloading rate, but I think I understand why because you need to harvest, unload, and sell your crop as fast as possible to stay ahead of your competitors and keep the US economy going at a reasonable pace.

Justin did a excellent job explaining the new CLAAS 8600 Lexion Combine. He needs to do more videos with you. Excellent video.
Man! A 510 bushel hopper! That's something serious! Lol definitely the biggest hopper I've heard of! And she moves thru the field! 💪💪
It was great listening to the operator on this one with his experience, another great upload ..many thanx again @new zealand
Great vid. Always enjoy it when you have a conversation with the operator.
Very impressive. Especially the holding capacity. It definitely eats its way through a field quickly. Thanks Jason. GO BTP 💪💪

Awesome content. I love the technical data he dished out on the engine and about the tracks.
Great video - always like the operator interaction. Thks
Wow that is one impressive combine
Awesome machine, great job with the video and getting the operator's perspective.
Crazy to think that this is not even the biggest model😮 it just eats the corn😁👍
Nice footage👍
Man, that Claas Lexion can EAT the corn !!!
Awesome Combine
What a beast!! Love these big combines!! Especially with tracks. Neat concept with the tracks.
Excellent. Thank you

Love the Claas videos! Hope for more of them. The farm I work for has a Claas 730, which is used for wheat, soybeans, and corn.

Although it wasn't true.
That’s a combine!! The 8800 going to eat that deere x series alive.
I really think so too. If not, then the 8900 will, with that 790 HP motor.
But then the ideal 10t Fendt might eat them.

We demoed that same combine the day after this video, it was eating 230+ bushel corn at 6 mph like it a as nothing, very nice machine

No combine can cope with a Claas Lexion
So its assembled in the US, but the parts are from Germany ?
Yes. Case IH and John Deere do the reserve in other parts of the world.
Did you filter the audio or is the cab really that quiet?
It is that quite. I used my GoPro to film in the cab.
Where are the components made
Some in Nebraska and some in Germany.
