These guys are criminally overlooked. The talent in this band in the day was unmeasurable and thrashed all over some of the bigger more popular bands of the time. Forbidden absolutely slays 🤘
Same here. I was 13 in 1990. A friend of mine had The Ultimate Revenge Part II vhs and that is where I first heard Forbidden. I hit Turtles Music later that week and bought the cassette. Good times! BTW I’m 42 now.
AGREED!!! I was born in 70 so I was 20 yrs old when this came out and I went and saw them on this tour in Providence RI at The Living Room....great show till I left and found my 71 nova broken in and they took my beloved Alpine deck, Kenwood equalizer and my JBL 6x9's!!! FUCK!!! ahhh the memories of being 20!! hahahaaa!!!!
One of the best times In my life. Living in the Bay area Active Duty navy and seeing Forbidden the first time at the Omni in Oakland. Tried not to ever miss a show after that. They completely crush Live. good times.
@70 Series Tires Hell yeah man! Was out there for the big quake. Between the Omni, Stone and One step beyond. Seen Vio-lence several times along with Forbidden and Vicious Rumors. And also a band called Epidemic. Good times!! Much beer and pit action! Machine Head played here a few years ago. Talked with Rob and Phil about the old days at the Omni. Cheers man!!
My first heavy concert was Forbidden when they did the Forbidden Evil tour and I have to say it was the heaviest concert I have ever seen and to this day it still remains the Heaviest concert I have ever seen, it's the way they head bang and play, they really know how to move on stage and all you see is hair everywhere moving in awesome rhythmic patterns as Russ is belting out his great lyrics which really make a person think about life, this band has the whole heavy package, I'm glad people are getting to see what I saw back in the day so they know what I am talking about ... much love to all of the Forbidden fAns out there ;)
I got to see Forbidden and War And Peace opening for Death Angel back in 1990 at Airport Music Hall in Allentown, Pennsylvania. We met Gus and Dennis Pepa and Andy Galeon and they were easily the most down to earth people we ever met from all of the bands. And the next night it was Ronnie James Dio and Yngwie Malmsteeen at Allentown Fairground! Good old days!

Hes got one of the best metal voices. He can scream he can sound clean ,growls the whole 9! I used to call these guys and like destruction, Testament, Kreator ,Slayer etc Dark or Demon Thrash or black thrash. These bands were more dark and hardcore than like Metallica and Megadeth. I really like how Demon Thrash sounds as a descriptive! Let's push it people. Every band from the 80s and 90s shouldn't all just be thrown into the thrash catagory. Blackened Thrash sounds like your going to eat it, like a food. Demon Thrash Baby! Great band !!!
Old fan here, i always go over in my head how the musuc industry at the time was not ready for this high level of music, so fukin amazing , good times seeing them live in the Bay Area
I haven't listened to this band for years, then Suzanne Somers died and a video on her sitcom Step By Step popped up on my Recommendations and this song started looping in my head, so here I am.
I like how bands are getting more views I been sharing the shit out of underrated thrash bands glad to see them go from like 10000 views to like 80000 in just a,few months
Heavy Nation I was pretty bummed when I found out. Honestly, I had never listened to Forbidden before that, but I was familiar with Tim because of Nevermore
Still remember when I was in USA and Forbidden Evil was just released. So I bought a couple tapes and bring them in Montreal. Si that was it, Forbidden was my best thrash metal band. I was into alot, Atrophy, Xentrix, Wargasm, Nuclear Assault, Scatterbrain, Heathen and blah blah... But Forbidden was by far the most special of them. The voice of Russ, the drumming and what about the guitars... Plus the sound was amazing... A perfect album.
I actually recorded this when it debuted on Headbangers Ball on MTV hosted by Members of Death Angel. I recorded it onto my VHS copy of Ultimate Revenge cutting off the end of Forbidden.
This song seems like stepping right into deep combat. A war zone that is very active and fighting its way through a mind field. They are experts at executing their song to relate the turmoil and what the expert musicians are playing to give our minds some fuel to rocket through space.
do it for yourself kid!!. when i was a kid i learn more about life with old school metal bands than anything....its hilarious how people dont understand these bands try to give us an absolute positive message but of course as a punch in your face, not in a sweet way.
Add a bit of Testament riffery into the mix as well. I wouldn't say there's a whole lot of Maiden in Forbidden, maybe sometimes in the vocal leanings of Russ, but also not at all times.
wow... the lyrics caught my attention... you know what it's crazy? and I'm still trying to understand all of this in my head... I just came out of a period where I was out of a "job" for 6 years of my life, and now I have the highest paying salary I ever had, but I feel miserable exactly like the lyrics described, not even 6 months in... WTF and how do I fix this
when I was younger I was surrounded by anxiety, aggression, fear, chaos, angst but it seemed like these were the things that were keeping me feeling alive and pushing further? as soon as I reached freedom and peace, problems started... there must be another way, it must not end like this, please fucking god

These guys are criminally overlooked. The talent in this band in the day was unmeasurable and thrashed all over some of the bigger more popular bands of the time. Forbidden absolutely slays 🤘
The funny thing about the last wave of 80's thrash is that it produced some great albums like this one even though the genre was about to die off.
got into this in 1990 when I was 16 now I'm 43! still think forbidden are the best band ever!
Same here.. Age 44 now. Still have this cassette in my closet. As far as best metal band tho Im going with Kreator. ;)
I got the vinyl reissue a few months ago. This album is a classic and btw I am 48.
I'm almost 43 and still think this is the best album ever made!
Same here. I was 13 in 1990. A friend of mine had The Ultimate Revenge Part II vhs and that is where I first heard Forbidden. I hit Turtles Music later that week and bought the cassette. Good times! BTW I’m 42 now.

Forbidden forever...Russ Anderson, I salute you
Forbidden Evil album cover has been my back patch for 10+ years, no intent in changing that ever!!
Awesome band !!!
Not the strongest track off of the album, but the riffmastery and great lead guitar work make this band special.

I think this was Forbidden's way of saying to the New Kids on the Block that "Step by Step" didn't have to be a shitty song.
Yup....I thought the same thing!!!!
i really think the NKOTB version is better, but this one is 3rd to none.
How dare you besmirch the good name of NKOTB!

Interesting take seeing how the lyrics are about fighting drug addiction. I like yours too.
