- This Whelen WPS-4004 is located at the Lowell Volunteer Fire Department in Lowell, Indiana.
Lake County tested 14 min late and we were about to pack up when we heard the tones through the radio.
Lake County tests their outdoor warning sirens the 1st Saturday of the month at 12:00 PM CST.
Recorded on January 5, 2019
Audio and undershot credit to Nick Biegel.
I’ll be in Lowell this Saturday at the 4004 with Cordell want to join us
That’s weird, they tested Alert instead of attack. Maybe it’s a yearly thing.
Yeah I'm not quite sure either, I know Lake County did attack last month, not sure why alert this month. I filmed a 2001 back in May 2018 and it was an alert test as well.
Interesting, this did wail when we recorded it in November
What is the frequency for Lake County?
I went to a Finback in Merrillville and it failed on me
When? I know Lake County is ridiculously inconsistent with their testing
@@MidwestCWS last Saturday the 7th of January
@@northernindianaoutdoorwarn9698 As far as I know Lake County quit testing in the winter months. Though they've changed their mind in the past...
Did you hear other sirens? I didn't see anything posted on their Facebook, they usually post when they're going to test.
@@MidwestCWS no, I don’t think so
Wonder if that 4004 is still active?
That's a great question. I'll have to go by soon as I know this siren was specifically called out by Lake County as being tested on some weekday.
is this still analog?
