Oddly enough, this set was the first appearance of the Slizer feet in medium blue, and they also came in the Technic Super Battle Droid (8012) from April 2002, and in a "Parts tub" (8713) from '05. The same part in "bright violet" was exclusive to this set, as was the Robo Rider head in that color on the stinger. However, the 16mm corrugated pipes in bright violet first appeared in the "Cyber Stinger" (8269) from the "Competition" subtheme of Technic from 1999. Onepu's Pakari in that color also appeared in the aforementioned "Parts tub" (8713). The hand socket joints in that color had first appeared in "Electro/Energy" (8507) and "Spark" (8522) from the Slizer theme during the preceding two years but were never seen again after this set. The same part in medium blue debuted in two other sets from that theme (8501 and 8503), but I did not obtain them until they appeared in a Visorak (8743) from 2005, even though not until April of '06. But I don't remember how I got it. For my ninth birthday in July of that year, I would obtain them again in what would be their final appearance in one of the Piraka (8905). I first obtained the white "Voodoo Claws" from Onua in the Tarakava (8549) though not until August of 2007. Later in that year, I would obtain their final appearance in a minifigure-scale set (8927).
Man, I loved the action packed sequence in the Mata Nui online game when you blast off in that giant bird combo model to assault the MASSIVE Nui-Jaga hive to a hype techno remake of “flight of the valkyries” Sniiiiiiiiiif, aaaaaaahhhh, I love the smell of matoran disks in the morning!
The Nui Jaga were one of my favorite rahi sets when I was younger, and looking back on them today, they are still very cool sets. Their stinger action feature was definitely powerful, I always felt that it seemed to pack the most punch out of any of the rahi, and it was very satisfying to see how easily you could knock a mask off with it. One thing I'm a little curious about, though: all 5 of the original rahi sets had a combination model constructed from the parts of both of them, so I was wondering why it was covered for this set and not with the Nui Rama?
Definitely cool sets! As for the combiners, truth is I kinda forgot the Rahi combiners existed until it was too late! I only made a point to try this one because I'd never built it before and was curious to see how it worked out.
I've been watching some of your vids recently and it's inspired me to do some rahi recolors and alterations of my own! I'm working on a lime green nui jaga right now, and a few different colored ussel crabs, as well as a few fish creatures, though I don't think anything of mine will be as cool as your magikarp.
Your Nui-Jaga and Master Builder set reviews made me order those from Bricklink (I mean, the latter one in parts). They can bring so much life to Mata Nui landscapes. Maybe you'll be interested in visiting my channel where I'm currently putting together the Mata Nui saga stop motion series. These were some of the most unique sets from Bionicle and I have never enough of them! I'm waiting for your Manas review!

When I was young I used to like when sets had new molds, but now that I'm older I prefer the reuse and recoloring of old pieces.
