organic strands of hair in bionicle lucky bags are always priceless. if i were you i would knot protective voodoo charms out of them and perform red magick
This is such an impressive find! You have a real knack for building anticipation (especially with those Bohrok Kal Krana reveals) and I love seeing each new installment in your mask collecting journey! Congratulations on finding so many of the masks you were needing. It's as you say in the final portion of the video - there's treasure still out there. Keep on enjoying the collection journey and thank you once again for capturing the moment you went through the find!
Congrats on that haul! And thanks for showing the mask prices. It's always super interesting 😄 All those modified Bionicles are actually quite nice to see because it means that kid must have a had a lot of fun 😄
I'm loving the journey! Keep up the good work man. I really cant find masks like you can so I've decided to slowly start collecting mask packs and will try my luck with those.
I'd sell my soul for that bag. But like, really, do you have any interest in selling it? I absolutely adore the unconventional bionicle gear items, and kopaka's my favourite. :)
Your soul, you say? Tempting :p Honestly though I'm probably just gonna keep it, its a pretty cool item to have. I winder if there are other versions with Tahu, Lewa etc?
I thought about getting an infected Hau. I've always thought they looked cool and the fact that they're hand painted makes them more interesting to me. I seriously considered getting the Muaka and Kane-Ra set for the masks alone.
bought some bionicles last night on facebook because of this video got a great deal for a tenner and ended up scoring over 60 masks and one of them was green matatu!
@@brickthumb one of the best deals that I’ve gotten now I’ve fully gone though all the pieces found some really good stuff I got my first mctoran and some parts that complete a bunch of sets!
I noticed there were no Krana. Thinking on it, it's probable that the Krana were probably missing cause I'd imagine the parents would have taken them away so the kid didn't eat them. Awesome finds apart from that though.
It's interesting how the Miru and Kakama are the ones you have the fewest of. Also, the Mata blue sword came from the "Silent Strike" which was part of the "Sentai Fortres" (7709) from "Exo-Force". It technically first appeared in sand blue in a Knights' Kingdom II figure (8773 or 8785 depending on region) from 2004.
@@brickthumb Even though Kopaka technically has a different sword than that. Thankfully, the Slizer limb comprising his left arm exists in medium blue, though it only comes in a Visorak (8743) from 2005. But I'm not sure if the Radar Dish for his shield comes in Mata blue.
In the 2003 Official Guide to Bionicle written by Greg Farshtey, the pronunciation of Onewa is "oh-NEE-wah" for those interested :) Also in the guide, Lewa is clearly noted as being pronounced "lay-WAH" -- not sure why there's still an ongoing debate!
@@brickthumb by the end of this video, you found 3 of the 4 I had haha. if you need a trans green kau kau, I would love to trade for a duplicate of yours
Hey, I've really been enjoying your vids lately! I was looking through some of my old stuff at my parents' house and I think I found the silver Pakari you seem to be missing. Is there a way I can send it to you? I'm UK-based by the way.
The Onua/Onewa thing isn't super complicated imo but it can depend on accent. I don't go for On/ju/a for both, I do O-n/u/-wa for one and O-n/e/-wa for the other. Think the vowels in boot and egg. I think the confusion is partially wanting to read "new" as "nju" in British English and English spelling conventions in general. Neither of them would have the "yew" we tend to want to reach for at all. Btw, it's not that Maori has a different use for W altogether, it's that Maori orthography differentiates W and Wh. W being a more familiar sound to English and Wh being the same as f or a similar sound using only lips instead of lips+teeth. I think in general when going into foreign words it's better just to completely ditch any English pronunciation or spelling rules because holding onto those hurts more than it helps. For example, the standard English pronunciations of Latin and Greek words are completely wild compared to their actual classical or even modern pronunciations and it is greatly attributed to those words being loaned into English before the Great Vowel Shift. This gives English speakers the habit of wanting to add a million diphthongs to every foreign word when this is almost never the case.
I remember being jealous of my friend after he showed me his bohrok when I was a kid, so I begged my parents to get me one as a kid and I loved that bionicle. If I wanted to buy one, what would be a reasonable price for one today? Also is there a good website I should look on to buy one?
@@brickthumb Oh my god! That's awesome! Its good to know that at least one thing from my childhood isn't outrageously expensive now! Thanks Brickthumb!
2 misprints in something like this is crazy and that bag is sweet. The lots are always better in Europe! Very nice find/ save!
If there is one Toa who would go to the gym, of course it would be Kopaka lol
I love these videos

Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed watching :) Got some more boxes coming, so hopefully can tick off a few more!
@@brickthumb I have one question do you want to make ur own moc?
Wooow I would love to find such a cool bag, great video.
Awesome haul! The Tamagotchi was a welcome surprise too :D

Whoa, collecting mask packs? That's next level collecting right there :p
@@brickthumb Well in all my lots I've only managed to find like 3 masks, so I figured this would be easier. Just gonna take a while haha.
perfect bionicle content
I've had a Idea for a while a Inverted Color/Build muaka and kane-ra (= Red Cat & Yellow Bull) With none infected Hau Masks (Red & Yellow) it an Idea
I'd sell my soul for that bag.

That is such an insane and lucky find, good job
Excellent catch this time!
Also, I love how Onua was clearly well loved, with a custom made articulated head (too bad it ended up missing!)
I think the owner must've bought the bionicle system sets! they include lots of brutaaka and axxon masks.
I am your knuckle, I have a 75% complete retail krana collection, though my metal krana is a replica.
I thought about getting an infected Hau. I've always thought they looked cool and the fact that they're hand painted makes them more interesting to me. I seriously considered getting the Muaka and Kane-Ra set for the masks alone.
The kid was definitely a mad scientist, thats some sid type tomfoolery

Whoa, seriously? That's incredible, congrats. You must have snagged them before I spotted them :p

This is scary, I just bought a Tamagotchi too…
Anyway, that is some nice progress man ^^
That clear white Kaukau is indeed beautiful

Or maybe the kid ate them before the parents could get them...
Doubt it, the Krana-Kal don't look nearly as tasty

Ah, thanks for the info, assumed it was just a Knights one. It's a cool piece, I might try building a Blue Kopaka!

Ah that kaukau! Ice kaukau!
Lucky I couldn’t go this week end to wet and sad :(((((
Damn now I want that bag :')
I had a few metallic crana when I used to collect borak. Didnt know they were worth anything.

Another use for your Duplicate Masks You could use thim to make Tohunga/Matoran(2001)
In one of the earlier videos, you said that you used different terms to search for bionicle. What were those terms?

Honestly, ebay is the place for bargains. The Bohrok arent super expensive, you could grab a complete one for $5-$10.
