    RV is the person that got me into watching supercross and motocross. Silent assassin in my opinion.

      He’s a 3 time 250 motocross, 1 time 250 supercross, 2 time 450 motocross, 4 time 450 supercross champion. Also a 3 or 4 time winner of MXoN with team USA.

    Rear steer is super fun, especially on a 450.

    Squatted with a lot of rear steer, leftover style and setup from 2-stroke days

    When I raced quad nationals I used to get so bummed when they would do a full track prep before the C class or Womens. The rest of the day was horrible lines haha

    I got to watch RV at the Washougal Nationals years ago when he was riding the 250 and James Stewart was racing the 450, Ryan was turning faster lap times than James was on the 450. In the main he was blasting thru the whoops and at the very end there is a pretty good step up that he over shot and crashed really hard, I remember that as soon as he hit the ground and came to a stop he jumped up , Ran over picked his Bike up , Kicked it like three or four times and took off again pinned! It was pretty amazing watching him Race.

    The dirt is so good in the Midwest because there's more moisture, and lots of farm equipment to disc the track.

    I had an 85 KX 125- great bike. Bought an 86 and it was exactly the way MXA described it, it would not turn. Horrible. Bought an 87 Honda- nirvana! Amazing bike.

    Gotta say I always liked kxs from two stroke up to present day, they steer more with the front now but I liked the rear steering style of before also cos they were so stable at speed ( ps In amateur racing in the uk amca they used to always put the experts out first to cut the lines in 👌 )

    • @carlstanton2550
      @carlstanton2550 Год назад

      Acu was experts last when I raced. I did a few amca races if there was a gap between the under 21 British champs. I always found amca to be easier than acu competition wise,but I liked the way they organised the race day at the handful of amca I rode.

    After riding all four Japanese bikes a few years ago, imo kawi’s and Yamahas both steer from the rear more so than my Honda or the Suzuki.

    It seams like Honda offered all the greats or solid riders a shot, Stewart, RC, Villo, McGrath, Kenny, Barca, Sexton, Trey, now Jett and even Readd has been on a Honda even though it wasn’t factory.

      Reed’s 22 Motorsports Honda was a mix of HRC and privateer stuff. Chad has said in the past that he had factory motor, suspension and brakes.

    I hate ruts. Give me a flat turn or a big berm any day. Nothing like sliding around a turn with both feet on the pegs at full tilt. LOL at least that's what I liked 50 some years ago. Carlsbad style.

      Multiple 250/450 sx and mx championships, dominated both motos on a 250 at the mxon, multiple appearances at mxon, and was (or still is?) a brand ambassador for Yamaha. Ryan Villopoto
