    So many of you want to sing freely without any throat tension or strain - and fair enough. Vocal fatigue is no joke!
    Let me introduce you to my magic wand, my favourite technique tool to give you more effortless, resonant singing - the straw.

    Thank you, Kimberly! I was so out of practice with my vocals, and after watching and practicing with just a few of your videos, I feel ten times more confident, and eliminated problems that I've been holding onto for years! You're amazing, never stop doing what you do :)

    I do a lot of singing at school and I find that I really wear on my voice throughout the day. It's quite stressful and demotivating for practice. Hopefully this helps!

      Does it feel like you're having to use any of your throat muscles to sing? Often vocal fatigue comes from an imbalance in breath support and inefficient cord closure (both of which the last few videos I uploaded help with).

      @@thatsweetroar I feel like I do. I'm a baritone so I think I have sounds of other baritones stuck in my head which leads me to darken my sound rather than using my own voice. Also yeah my breath support could be a lot better which is something I'm working on so it's less volatile on my throat.

      To be honest, I'm not a nutritionist but I think that just eating real, whole foods - loads of vegetables and eating a limited amount of sugar and dairy is the way to go for many singers. My go to helper for a sore throat though is a Balinese recipe of warm water, grated fresh turmeric, lime juice and a little honey. :)

    Okay so I’m having issues singing through the straw… my voice gets rumbly and then I can’t make sound

    • @thatsweetroar
      @thatsweetroar  Год назад

      The sound that comes out through the straw will be quite muffled and we can only "sing" or make the sound of an "oooh". It might be that you're expecting a more "sing-y" sound than what the straw produces.

    What to do if your voice is waaay too much nasal?

    • @thatsweetroar
      @thatsweetroar  4 года назад

      Hi Nixon, it depends why your voice is sounding thin or nasal. Sometimes it's because we're spreading the lips wide and not dropping the jaw (like in this video: thatsweetroar.com/videos/how-your-lips-change-your-vocal-tone) and sometimes it's because we're not using our breath effectively.

    So I don't have to sing from my throat muscles?

    • @thatsweetroar
      @thatsweetroar  4 года назад +1

      Nope, you shouldn't feel a push from those at all!

      All the contrary. The throat should be relaxed
