Thank you!
what the name of that mouse pad ??
looks really cool
Very Clear and straight to the point review
Thanks for the comment mate!
Great video, I use magic kb and mouse with work mbp but now have a pc next to so this is perfect. Also love the fact that MX Master 3 mouse fits exactly the same style and functionality so will be getting that too,
Thanks mate, appreciate the comment. Yeah they definitly look great paired with each other and the added benefit of using it over to operating system is the cherry on the cake 👌

Logitech MS Keys is definitely one of my best tech buys in 2022! And kudos for the good video. Thanks!
100% agree and thanks mate, appreciate the comment!
Great video! Thank you
You're welcome, glad you liked it and thanks for the comment.
Great video, concise analysis and excellent comparison.

Hey there! Thanks for your comment! I actually just stumbled upon the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule and it seems like a game-changer when it comes to cleaning your desktop setup. It offers powerful vacuuming and blowing capabilities, making it versatile for various cleaning tasks. Plus, the price seems reasonable compared to other options out there. Definitely worth considering for anyone looking to optimize their desk cleanliness!
Quite a nice video overview of each of these, but a key huge thing you missed is a conclusion section at the end. It would be much better to have an overall summary and your final thoughts
I've been using the MX Keys for almost a year now on my MAC but pickuped up the new Magic Keyboard to go with my Mac Studio for one reason... Touch ID. It's growing on me. I currently enjoy typing on the MX keys a little better, not as much as the G915 TKL, but coming from 30 plus years of IBM clicky / Cheery MX Blue switches these newer keyboard have taken time to get use to. The speed on the Apple Keyboard is usually a tad better but not by much. If only I could get Touch ID on the Logi I would definitely stick to that and may go back... still up in the air for now.
On another note I mentioned the Logi G915 TKL (there is a fullsize as well). If you have never tried that keyboard, I have the clicky version, it's amazing. I use it on my gaming PC replacing a keyboard with Cherry MX Blues. It's wireless and using it daily for gaming it often lasts about 10 days along with the G903 wireless mouse. If you get a chance check out one of the G915 models, they are the perfect compromise IMHO.
I've switched to the Apple Magic Keyboard as my daily driver and definitly starting to prefer, not sure if it's the layout of the keys, definitly not as tactile as the MX Keys but I am enjoying the experience. The touch ID is definitly a game changer and I may look at one of the newer models to get it. I will definitly check that out as I am looking to build a new gaming setup. Thanks for the suggestion!
I just bought the apple Magic Keyboard (on sale) just for the TouchID. It seems crazy that I had to do that.
The apple keyboard is not backlit, it’s not easy to switch computers or peg to a docking station as you get with a USB receiver.
But man, it has TouchID and my Mac lid is always shut. So, I need it.
Hey {{3}}, based on your comment, it seems like you're interested in optimizing your desktop setup. Have you considered adding the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule to your cleaning routine? It offers powerful vacuuming and blowing capabilities, making it perfect for keeping your desk and other spaces spotless. With its multiple tubes, high-quality filters, and swift keyboard cleaning, it's definitely worth considering. Plus, it's portable and efficient for on-the-go use. Let me know if you have any other questions or if there's anything else I can help with!
Hey there! I noticed you left a "3" as a comment, and I'm not quite sure what you meant by that. Could you please clarify? Additionally, if you're looking for recommendations or advice on PC building, desktop setups, or notebook upgrades, I'd be more than happy to help! Just let me know what you're curious about, and we can go from there.
Hi! Great video! I hade one questions regarding something else; what is the 'wooll desk pad' or what you call it that is on the desktop beneath the keyboard? Does it affect the precision work with the mx3 mouse? Cheers
It's just a felt wool desk mat from Etsy. And no it hasn't had any affect on the movement of the mouse, it also saves the bottom from getting scratched too!
@@SemplistYT Thanks a bunch!!
So if my computer has no bluetooth, i can still use the logetec?
Hey @Semplist great video man love my magic keyboard but have been thinking of a switch for my work laptop to be able to use too (windows)
What mousepad are you using that is so cool
Thanks mate, appreciate the comment! It is a great keyboard if you're using both operation systems. I got it from Etsy, if you search for felt desk pad it should come up. Hope that helps.
Well done Semplist... May I know the brand of the mouse pad in the video?
Thank you
Thanks mate, the mouse pad is from Etsy.
@@SemplistYT oh. Thank you
I've been using MX Keys mini for... about a year now and disappointing is that the Command key has worn away a little of the "paint". I guess I strike the button with the corner of my nail. Apart from that its really good. I do prefer the deeper travel of the MX Keys. I personally only like mechanical keyboards for gaming. I feel I can type better on the Apple keyboard
That's a shame but it is just costmetic. As you say overall a really solid keyboard. And I'm with you on the travel with the MX Keys, it's definitly a great typing experience.
Are you sure I can use just wired mode with MX Keys? You say it at 2:35. It's looks like this is impossible with this board without any radio link over. It use wire only for charging.
Great video. What Dell monitor are you using?
Thanks mate! It's in the description, 27" Dell Monitor 👍
Thank you for the video, I am comparing both, but the mini size, as I want to have a smaller keyboard, I think MX wins in all the terms, but there is one thing that can make Magic wins is that in Magic I can choose to have a keyboard with another language, as sometimes I need to write in Arabic and I cannot find that letter so I need to keep guessing, while in Magic I can choose to have the Arabic version that has the English letters as well. But MX might win here as it can be used for multiple devices at the same time!! hard to decide.
Hey there! As a fellow tech enthusiast, I totally understand your dilemma. Both the Logitech MX Keys and Apple Magic Keyboard 2022 have their own strengths. If you're looking for a smaller keyboard, the MX Keys definitely seems to be a winner. However, the flexibility of having the option to switch between languages on the Magic Keyboard can be quite handy. Another cool feature of the MX Keys is its ability to connect to multiple devices simultaneously. It's really a tough decision to make. On a separate note, have you considered the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule for keeping your desktop setup super clean? It's a powerful vacuum and blower in one compact device, perfect for maintaining a spotless environment. Let me know if you need any further recommendations for your PC setup or anything else tech-related!
Hello. Can you share what's the shortcut key for screen capture on magic keyboard with num pad. ?
There isn’t a specific button unfortunately for screenshots. The commands are CMD + Shift + 4 to save a screenshot to your desktop or CMD + Control + Shift + 4 to save the screenshot to your clipboard. Hope this helps.
How do you find using mx master 3? The cursor sensitivity any good?
Yes really good, and you can change the sensitivty to your preference within the LogiOptions software. The only issue I had is that it randomly disconnected from my MacBook every so often which became frustrating. Hope this helps.
Hey there! I've heard great things about the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule for cleaning keyboards and devices. It offers powerful vacuuming and blowing capabilities to keep your environment spotless. Plus, the price seems reasonable compared to other brands. Definitely worth considering for your desktop setup optimization!

mx keys s play button doesn't work in safari RUclips. does anybody know why? with the music app it works
Very nice review. Keep up the good work :)
Thanks mate, appreciate the comment!
does the new keyboard give the ability to go into MBAir sleep mode when working with an external monitor? (just like regular closing MacAIR?)
This is the older Apple Magic Keyboard so I can't say for the newer version.
@@SemplistYT Ok thank you
Perhaps you could verify something you mentioned, considering the Logitech MX for Mac with usb-c only. Many users/reviewers have stated that Logitech will connect/pair only with bluetooth, i.e. the usb-c will only serve to charge the keyboard not provide connectivity. Which is it? Thanks.
I've just double checked and it turns out the USB-C cable can ONLY be used for charging purposes. Very misleading as the packaging suggests that it can be used as a wired connection. Thanks for bringing it up!
@@SemplistYT Thank you. I don't mind learning of limitations or even flaws. What I don't appreciate is vagueness of communication - wherein one must carry out a research project on the company literature or manual. It seems almost every user guide or instruction booklet was written by a seasoned politician. Again, thank you for clearing that up. I'd rather connect wirelessly or wired, without bluetooth. However, at the given price point(s) I still believe the MX Logitech to be of better value - given its versatility and backlighting. Cheers.
I have the MX Mechanical and Magic Keyboard, I much prefers the MX due to the keys are mechanical and "higher" up than the Magic Keyboard. Coming from regular "Windows" keyboards, it feels weird with the bigger spacing between the keys on Apple's keyboard. It works on their Laptops though but on desktop it's weird for me.
Yeah I agree. If I've been using the magic keyboard for some time I do get used to it but the MX Keys definitly has that more universal feel to the keys. Like you mentioned someone coming from a Windows laptop/desktop will find it more of a different experience.
I heard there is a sporadic disconnection between the Mac and the Logitech keyboard. Can you please confirm if you experience this sporadic disconnection problem?
Yes that is correct, and I didn't notice it a first but definitly as it got to the end of using which is why I switched back to the Apple Magic Keyboard. I'm not sure if it's because I was using a 2015 MacBook Pro or wether it's an issue with the conncetion from the keyboard.
@@SemplistYT I have the Mx keys and mouse on my 2021 Mac Mini M1 and the mouse is constantly stalling. I’m actually considering switching back to Apple KB and mouse..
I used both at the shop and picked up Apple Magic keyboard. Somehow the experience of typing is not that satisfying and productive than compared to Apple keyboard.
I agree, the Magic Keyboard feels a lot more natural but that might be because I've been using a MacBook for so long.
I just thought of another possible way (at least it seems so to me) to connect via the usb - wirelessly, and even wired on a macbook pro. I could try the MX multi-platform OS version, from there use a dongle for either the wired or wireless connection. That way, I'd also have the ability to use the MX with my android-based tablet and phone(s). It's worth a shot. If that doesn't work .... back to amazon it goes and I'll stick with the so-called magic keyboard, and the K750 (with solar charging) I've been using with MacPro and MacBook Pro for almost 8 years. Note: the version of K750 I'm using (right now with a 16" M1 Max) is designed for Mac; even so, I've used it with Windows laptops as well.
See what one can do when using his brain, the extra milage he can get? This is not something that the marketing department of Apple or Logitech seems interested in - except on a strictly technical (or monetary) level, within their relatively tiny box. I suppose you could say they're essentially a bunch of brain boxes. Perhaps that seems a bit harsh to say, but I wouldn't hesitate to say it in person or put it in writing to the CEO, COO, or any department head of either company. I'll follow up after I've succeeded with my experiment(s). 🙂
That sounds like it could definitly work - let me know how you get on! I've never seen the K750 but I'll be sure to check it out.
@@SemplistYT I'll keep you posted.
Great video. Can Apple Magic Keyboard connected with 2 devices like a Macbook and an iPad?
Yes but it doesn’t save both devices in memory like the Logitech, you need to pair it each time you change the main device.
@@IgorTFerreira oh that sucks.. but hope the continuity works between a Mac and an iPad.
Thanks for the clear, objective review. Logitech MX Keys is hands down the better keyboard.
Thanks for the comment, glad you found it useful!
for you, for me the apple magic keyboard all the way
@@qwertyman9560 Can you explain why?
@@ThatsmeChristian For me I find the Magic Keyboard has softer well damped keys with minimum travel and effort needed. Also, takes up minimum real estate and seamless integration when using an Apple computer.
@@qwertyman9560 Thank you very much! :)
Hello @semplist What bag is that at 1:51
I bought it from Urban Outfitters a few years ago now, I'm not sure if they still do it.
happy new year very nice video
Thanks mate much appreciated, and happy new year!
thanks
I had a MX Master 1 Mouse but with my M1.. Logitech makes good hardware but their software is terrible. I had to buy a new MX Master 3 Mouse..but noticed that even that didn't really work thill now with the Logitech Options Beta software - now finally Apple Silicon ready. My Logitech 922 Webcam still has awful non Silicon Software that crashes with Montery from time to time and Logitech Capture isn't running at all. For the Keyboard I now went for the Apple Magic one with Touch ID. I just want to work and not wait for driver updates in the Future. The Hardware is top..but they need to invest in good Software developers exp. for the Mac.
I agree, I kept having connectivity issues with both the MX Master 3 and the MX keys but I didn't know if that was down to the age of my MacBook. Can definitly see the benefit of both sides as the Apple equipment just works, and sometimes that's enough without the additional features.
i picked up the mx keys for mac for $50 (out of box; new) and the magic keyboard 2022 for around $65 usd. I've personally enjoyed the mx keys better, though i like the original smaller magic keyboard from a few years ago just as much. my mx keys is at my office desk, my magic keyboard is at my bedside table with my m1 air and a 27" samsung, my office laptop has the mx keys and black magic trackpad 2 with the m1 pro and a 55" samsung smart tv and a 29" monitor in below it, sometimes connected to my ipad air 4 when i'm drawing something. my brother prefers the mx keys mini but i like having a larger keyboard, though the mini is worth checking out unless you specifically want a full sized keyboard and the smart features … though you can get the same 'smart features' on a magic keyboard with Mac OS in built keyboard shortcut or an app like Quicklinks.
where you get your mouse pad
It's from Etsy.
Does the Logitech KB support IOS for my IPAD?
I haven't tried it myself but I assume it does.
Does Apple Magic Keyboard has illumination?
It doesn't unfortunately!
Does MX keys have touch ID ?
No it doesn’t unfortunately!
right shift is underrated
It definitely is!
beautiful keyboard
It really is!
MX keys cannot work as a wired keyboard. Please make the correction as a pinned comment or using some other way. It is misleading to those purchasing this product for that reason. It can work as a wireless keyboard WHILE it is charging using a wired connection from either the computer or a battery bank or a plug from the wall.
I would avoid the mx keys. I bought one 15 months ago, and the paint is coming off the command key. Logitech does not sell replacement keys, and the only third party key replacements have cmd|alt on the key and not command, so if i want to replace the key, it wont match the other command key. The only way i can see to prevent this from happening is buying a silicone skin to cover your keys, and that make the typing experience less enjoyable.
Your review is incorrect. The MX keys cannot operate in "wired USB" mode. The USB is only for charging. So even with the cable connected it's still a Bluetooth keyboard.
The Magic Keyboard, if connected but cable, can work as a USB keyboard.
You're right, thanks. It was highlighted in another comment, the packaging is quite misleading - if you take a look on Reddit, there is a few discussions around it. Thanks again for highlighting.
Logitech MX Keys also comes in pink ^_^ (obviously a deal breaker lol)
Awesome, haven’t seen it in Pink before
Been using an MX keys for a year and recently tried the Magic Keyboard at the office for a couple of weeks. To me there is just no comparison, the MX keys wins hands down in every way, in fact I don't understand how Apple can justify charging so much for such a mediocre keyboard.
the prices are like €40 up now😱
mx keys mini is like 60eur on amazon now
Nice comparison review, thank you. I would ditch both and go wired. The jury is still out on the health and safety of Bluetooth.
The best is K800.
False. You can't use MX Keys via wire. It is for charging purpose only.
Yes it was mentioned in another comment. The packaging is misleading, there is a reddit post on it. Thanks for the comment.
i just bot the MX Keys!
Nice mate, hope you enjoy
I like the looks of the Apple keyboard, but I hate Apple products, and it's much louder than the Logitech keyboard.
A keyboard without backlit light is obsolete in this century.....
You'd think so but a lot of the newer mechanical keyboards don't actually come with backlight functionality so an interesting one.
@@SemplistYT no surprised to see modern slaves accept all kind of modern tortures!
Last I checked, lamps exist in this century
@@Mangold108 I agree. Some prefer light over ease and comfort? This is hell !
In which century? From which year are u writing!? Personally I don’t care about backlight since I type blindly by memory.
I got both. I can confirm that MX Keys is worst of the two. The keys are ridiculously hard. Not sure why no one talks about it. You cannot type continuously for mins using mx keys as it might give you pain in the fingers. Magic keyboard is much better (although not ideal). You gotta try varmilo sakura switches or EC Daisy switches from Varmilo. They are soooo much smoother and better than these so called low profile keyboards.
Thanks for the suggestion I'll give them a try. I've actually been thinking about swapping back to the MX Keys, so I'm going to see how I get on for the next couple of weeks with it.
I find it to be just the opposite.. MX keys feels softer, Magic Keyboard feels harder.
чувак который не умеет в слепую печать - не имеет никакого морального права сравнивать такие клавиатуры
Once I discovered mechanical keyboards, I could never go back. Best kinds of keyboards is mechanical keyboards, period. And Apple SUCKS! God I hate Apple.
